Whenever I hear men talking about how “no one cares” and that they don’t have friends “like women do,” it’s like… so, make friends then? Put effort into maintaining platonic relationships? Why do these men all just want unconditional love and support and labor from others while giving nothing in return?

ETA: My friends are ride or die for me because I’m ride or die for them. If one of us stumbles, the others lift her back up. Support like that doesn’t just happen because we’re women; it happens because we all actively invest in each other.

They mean women don't care. That women are so exhausted from doing it all and living with men who hate us, we've started opting out of being their on-call therapist for endless coddle sessions.

Men have made it so terrifying to walk down the street, we don't have the energy or the will to give them a smile.

Men have made online dating apps such a cesspit of harassment, deceit and manipulation that they can't even squeeze 10 lines of chat and some nudes to wank over from us anymore.

Men have been stingy to their own families, drunk and gambled away our inheritances, and we don't want to let their bankrupt, shabby asses live with us in their dotage.

Men have been so greedy, lazy, selfish and entitled towards their domestic slave wives they're being divorced and chucked in the bin, having to start over in a 1bedroom shitbox, washing their own raggedy undies.

Men have stood by, or participated in, women's rights being stripped away. But as soon as there's a whiff of government control over men's bodily autonomy & self-determination, and coercion to put something in their body they don't want to, they hop in their trucks and race to parliament house to protest. Fuck the women dying because they can no longer get a safe abortion. No convoy for that. We can't even peacefully protest our own murders, because.. the police like to assault us during.

Porn use contributes to depression and inability to feel joy in other areas of life that don't spark the same dopamine surge, but men refuse to listen to women about it and stop watching rape on tape.

Yep. I could give a flying fuck about mEn'S mEnTaL hEaLtH. They're the architect of their own demise. They are the root cause of every single thing they're sad about. And our misery.

There are dozens of ways men can take care of their own mental health or support each other, but they've labelled them feminine, and being like a woman is so despicable to them, they're ok shooting themselves in the foot. Die sad.

Men are the ones gatekeeping men's mental health. Seeing a psychiatrist or counselor or taking meds is seen as a "sign of weakness". Literally the only time I've seen men complain about society "not caring" about men's mental health is when women's issues are brought up. Men are the ones sticking the pole in their own bicycle spokes. As a woman, it's been hard to find mental health services in Canada. All low or completely no cost mental health services go to people with drug addiction or who are violent offenders or who have a serious condition such as schizophrenia, which is overwhelmingly men. Women are usually thrown into the BPD bin and left untreated.

My unpopular opinion is the cornerstone of male mental health activism is just complaining about not being entitled to women’s emotional labour and resenting the fact that they’re accountable for their own actions regardless of what their ego says. I lowkey stopped caring about it.

They don't care about their own mental health to do anything/much about it,(More than likely relying on outside factors only to improve this).

They are literally the members of the group who shape society and they won't complain to their fellow male members to change anything,instead they rather complain to women about their feelings because its easier, because we do all the other things they don't wanna do.(cook,clean,watch kids,book appointments..)

My ex complained all the time that "nobody cared" about him and his wellbeing. Yet he was a young, white, middle-class, educated man with a loving, understanding girlfriend (yours truly) who acted as his full-time therapist because he couldn't be bothered to pay for a professional or to build actual, fulfilling friendships. I can't even count the times I tried to convince him to seek therapy. It was exhausting. The reality is that men. don't. care. They often use their mental health issues as an excuse to seek pity from women and trap them into dead-end relationships that benefit only them.

Edit: In case it’s not clear, I’m not looking down on women or saying this is our responsibility. In my experience, men don’t do any kind of regular health maintenance…unless the women in their lives make them. And then men get mad about that! Men have to take responsibility for themselves.

One thing I thought was strange in my adventures on Reddit… when I saw women post photos about how they think they’re ugly, I saw lots of support and advice to make them feel better and improve their looks.

There was also a sub where normal looking guys posted their photos saying the same thing, feeling ugly. Tons of bitter dudes came in, saying stuff like “wow bro ur ducking ugly. IT’S OVER” “Weak jaw”. And other mens “rights” subs giving awful advice to ensure that the OP coming for support devolved into a bitter, resentful person who should no longer put any effort. Actively hurting their mental health and their outlook on life. I don’t get it.

Exactly. It’s not our damn problem. Women are always taking on an extreme amount of emotional baggage from the men in their lives, even when those men are reluctant to open up and receive help. I don’t know any woman who hasn’t had to deal with this in a relationship. My ex boyfriend had 3 close friends who he met up with at least once a week. They would always catch up (and play video games together 🙄). Meanwhile, I was still the one who always dealt with him at his most emotional and vulnerable, even when I had only known him for a few months. He’d known these guys for years but still offloaded onto me, a woman who he’d only met a few months prior. A lot of men have at least a few friends who supposedly care about them, they just don’t prioritise each other’s mental health. It’s seriously insulting when they say “no one cares” when women have always put the feelings of the men in their life above their own well-being. They need to start being honest and admitting that it’s other men who don’t give a crap. But instead, they don’t want to hold other men accountable and would rather blame women, even though it isn’t our responsibility.

Like, honestly, I met SO many dudes whining about their lifes without doing anything to help themselves. It's like they just want to always have an excuse to underperform at school/work. Life is just so tough for them. And then you have other dude bros who validate such behavior, "oh you know, he couldn't do task XY because he has it so rough rn". Excuse me, but last time I checked said man is an adult who should have his ducks in a row.

Also, of course it's ok for men to have mental health issues and it's ok when they underperform but when it's a woman she's either got daddy issues or she's on her period or she's simply seen as emotional and unprofessional. Give me a break

I just listened to a podcast with a scientist saying that not only women are more open emotionally than men, but also women are slightly opener emotionally with other women whereas men are much more closed off emotionally with other men.

The reason behind this is up to debate. But it confirms what FDS always say, men rely on women's emotional labour. And though society tells us the female friends are catty and shallow, it turns out the opposite. Women are more authentic with other women, which is the foundation of friendship. No wonder men are so lonely, they subconsciously don't even trust other men!

Also men measure the supposed lack of care about their mental health by the demographics of suicide rates, which are 62% Male, 38% Female, however they like to casually forget that the non-fatal suicide attempts it is 61% Female, 39% Male, and similarly female-led rates for self harm.

They completely twist the facts to suit their narrative, as per usual for everything they do. Women’s mental health issues are equal/worse when you actually consider the statistics.
