Here me out fully before downvoting: I think that we should stop saying there isn't privilege because it sets you up for an uphill fight that you're unlikely to win, and it triggers the defense mechanisms to high alert immediately. Technically, it also isn't correct.

Instead, I think we should acknowledge that there is privilege, but on both sides. And there is, we just both get different privileges.

This way, we are working within the existing mental framework, making it easier to absorb and harder to reject, acknowledging their concerns as well as our own, and frames conversions in a bid for equality vs battle of the sexes. You don't even have to talk about who has it better or has more privileges unless they go there, because injustices should be corrected, and it's more difficult to tell someone they shouldn't be.

And I think this is important because it takes us from fighting over whether something exists or doesn't at all, and directly into a discussion about where it exists.

Even when men are the ones in charge and "starting wars" they usually do so in the interest of women in men too. In any war, it's men who are going to take the brunt of the suffering, and despite the fact that women will benefit from it. If a war is fought for resources, those are resources, that women will enjoy. If a war is fought for security, that is security that women will enjoy.

If women want to see more female leadership, then what are they actually doing about it? Do they still treat men as if they have to protect, provide and take leadership roles, in order to even be recognized as men, which provides the incentives for them to strive for those positions and grooms boys towards those positions? Are they actively trying to go for those positions themselves or supporting leaders that be less likely to start wars?

First of all, those data shouldn't be fatalities and won't go away just by blaming men who don't ask for it and, as said, gets them automatically.

It has been found that men earn more than women but the data on this topic is generally miss leading and doesn't take into account gender equality in high education and work conditions. With worse work conditions for women, they might be less motivated to fight for a higher salary. (speculation don't pick on this one plz)

Men are judge on their body. Saying they aren't is neglecting the high discrimination fat men or underweight men might encounter.

Men are less frequently raped at night in the street. But they are also robbed. In the end, bigger people feel safer than smaller people. Women are smaller in general than men. Thus they feel more threatened. Security isn't really about gender and should obviously be a concern for everyone.

Men will also be questioned about not having kids. I know a 50 male without children and he won't see his family because they keep talking to him about that.

I don't understand the message about women being killed because they are women. Wife killed by their husband aren't killed because they are women but because the husband is a mad man. In a more conservative world, women are killed or harassed because they don't obey stupid laws (hijab). But I'm not sure I see how this translates in europe for instance.

History does benefit white men. It is true and can't be denied. So what? They should pay? No. We have to work for equality but without leaving skill on the side walk. If respecting quotas means hiring less skillfull women, then we shouldn't have to do it. If there is less skillful women because women attend less higher education in certain fields, then we should work on that by deleting clichés going back to childhood. If we don't have gender equality in education, we can't have it in the workplace.

I’m on neither side.

One side thinks men aren’t judged for their bodies as much despite me, a man, mostly getting judged by women growing up. And then we have the other side. Where the guy literally tries to say women are less qualified for their jobs.

Let me say my stance. The wage gap depends the occupation. Girls can just make millions on an Onlyfans within weeks and basically use their looks to get to the top. But there’s definitely certain jobs where women have disadvantages, such as tycooning.

We can’t tell the rape statistics for sure. Women in general come forward about getting raped more. Truth is even if you’re the biggest sub boy of them all, getting raped by a girl is embarrassing. Not that it matters because men are more likely to be targeting for violent crimes anyway.

People on both sides get so caught up in “which side suffers more?” and it wastes energy and just makes people angry.

I’m not just saying it’s as easy as holding hands and singing Kumbaya, but in general we should be trying to build trust on a foundation of common ground.

So if a conversation starts to go down the route of “we’ve go it worse” “no we’ve got it worse” Etc. then it’s already too late - nothing productive will come off that conversation so might as well disengage.

She has a point you know. But, again, it's like comparing apples and oranges, as almost all comparisons between men and women are. Men aren't likely to be chosen as preferred candidates, in the west at least, it's the other way round. Even in India, women have quotas in EVERY freaking government jobs and educational institutes. And even if everything she said was true, she fails to acknowledge that there is "female privilege" too(quoting to her in the words she would understand).

Majority of victims of violent crimes are men. Female rulers have been more warmongering than their male counterparts. Women are judged more for their physique? I fear about being stabbed, mugged, kidnapped and raped everytime I walk the streets at night. Whenever I sense someone following me from behind I speedwalk. I think the problem here is the lack of agreeing on both sides, everything she says is true at a certain level, and the same is true with you. However, these situations/arguments are not as simple as "men have privileges" "no men not have privileges" men do have privileges, but also have disadvantages, same with women, you can't reduce the argument to a yes or not. The problem with these arguments is that we don't hear the other person, we just deny everything they say without actually elaborating something out of their arguments.
