There seems to be a new (or maybe I'm only just noticing it lately) trend on the gaming and atheism subreddits - particularly since Anita Sarkeesian's "Tropes vs Women" and Rebecca Watson's "Elevatorgate" incidents exploded (keep in mind that those wiki entries heavily distort events) - where feminists and their white knight supporters use the word "misogynist" to shut down any and all discussion on topics relating to gender. According to them, reddit is a misogynist haven where hatred of women is rampant and "rational, gender-equal" or "feminist" thought is quashed. Rarely, however, do I ever see actual examples of misogyny, and what examples do crop up are usually downvoted beyond oblivion instantly.

What seems to be happening instead is that a bunch of persistently-bent-out-of-shape feminists on reddit circlejerk incessantly about the supposed "misogyny circlejerk" and how oppressed their views are, irrelevant of the fact that their "oppressed" opinions are upvoted to the top of every comment thread and the supposedly misogynistic comments that are rampant on reddit are -100 karma at the bottom of the page, if they exist at all. It doesn't seem to me that there is any misogyny circlejerk on reddit. Rather, it seems that there's an anti-misogyny circlejerk that just loves to circlejerk about a fictional misogyny circlejerk. And god forbid you point out that a supposed example of misogyny isn't actually an example of misogyny, because you'll quickly find yourself jumped on by a gang of white knights who will downvote you into obscurity while upvoting the College Liberal Feminist who made the initial baseless claim of "sickening misogyny" in the first place.

Meanwhile, counter-examples of misandry just get laughed off or dismissed, and pointing out that they're misandric gets you the same response as pointing out false accusations of misogyny.

It seems like increasingly any pro-male or non-feminist opinions on reddit are being supressed and labeled as "misogyny", all while the pro-feminist groups are ironically bemoaning how oppressed their views are by the "Patriarchy".
