I find it ironic nonetheless; at first men had their own space, let's call it the pub. It was "safe", where men could talk about manly things. Then some women felt left out and demanded they be lets in to see what the fuss was about. Those women generally didn't like what they saw, but instead of opening their own establishment, they sought to impose changes on what already existed. More and more changes were demanded until one day, the men didn't really want to go anymore. The women didn't like that, because they felt like the men should like and embrace all the changes to the pub. So they start hen pecking their men. Eventually one gets the idea to make all the men sit in a room with other men to think about it sans women...

Not sure how well this will fly here, but if you actually dig through all the sensationalist media and read the actual goals of the programs (at least the one at Duke) they aren't unreasonable. They say masculinity is a critical component of our society, but there are certain toxic aspects of it that keep men from seeking help with things like depression and other mental illnesses because they may be perceived as weak. Other negative aspects of masculinity may cause males to internalize stress leading to unhealthy relationships. I agree both of these are real problems.

From a different angle, female sexual predators and female perpetrators of domestic violence are / seem differently motivated most of the time. Without getting into the specifics (unless someone is interested in discussing it), sexual battery is really shitty for many reasons and there is nothing so categorically different between being a victim of a female perp or male perp, and the experience isn't terribly different for the victim (male or female).

Social perception, stereotypes, and media portrayal of male vs. female perps is a different matter.

I bought into horse shit feminism for a long time and it took a lot of good friends and bad relationships to even begin recovery. I'm sure their defense will be "we don't hate masculinity entirely, we just think some parts are toxic (and responsibile for all evil in the world)". Awesome, me too!
