Note: The use of the word “femininity” isn’t necessarily about male or female, but the feminine energy itself in contrast to masculine energy - ie. passiveness vs. activeness

Guys can do all of these things too and many have. The distinction is that toxic masculine tendencies tend to present themselves in a more unabashed, unapologetic and outward force. Whereas toxic femininity has a much more subtle way of manifesting itself, and will often try to play simultaneously both the roles of the victim and the abuser.

  1. Inciting violence against a non-violent man in hopes for him to retaliate, knowing if he fights back he will he the one in trouble.

  2. Accompanying apologies with justifications or excusing, or not taking accountability at all.

  3. Being excessively nice when people do what you want, and then immediately flipping on them the second they do something you don’t like.

  4. Keeping a roster of guys on the side just in case while giving one guy an impression of exclusivity.

  5. Assuming bad intentions/somebody’s a bad person by default just for disagreeing with your societal/political views.

  6. Intentionally making your partner jealous by bringing up his inadequacies or mentioning other people, while knowing you wouldn’t like it if the situation were reversed.

  7. Feeling an instinctive need to “humble” confident guys.

  8. Being nice only as a tool to get something out of someone or to receive forgiveness, rather than out of genuineness.

  9. Being nice towards your “friends “ while always talking shit about them to other people behind their back.
