Depends on your definitions. I define feminism as what self-described feminists believe. No "no true Scotsman" arguments allowed. In that sense I'm fiercely anti-feminist. Now, if you are using feminism as a synonym for egalitarian, as some like to argue ("we just want eQuAliTy!"), then I'm fiercely pro-feminism.

The thing about Feminism is that any atrocity committed on men of considered justified. They consider men as the privileged sex. They don't need any activism for them. They have it all. Male privilege, right?

That's why they shamelessly erase battered men and male rape victims from academic and popular discourse. Who needs to raise voice for male victims? They are a privileged bunch.

Man is being battered? His abuser must be hitting in self defence and it's he who is actually the abuser. Treat him as such. If he calls shelters, withhold victims' services from him and refer him to batterer treatment programs.

Government wants to amend laws to include male rape survivors? No no, that shouldn't happen. What if the law will be misused? What if men's start filing counter-claims of rape? Abandon the mantra of "believe all victims" when the victim is man. Now false accusations are an issue.

Feminism is a wide range of movements and philosophies. Many of these share a common root, but many also differ widely and even disagree with eachother. This means that when one criticizes "feminism" generally, the No true Scotsman appeal to purity is usually invoked as a counterargument.

(This is not necessarily a bad thing, many critics of feminism will commit the opposite fallacy - hasty generalisation - when, for instance, they treat the Big Red "internet personality" as a spokesperson for all feminists.)

Does it mean that because feminism means many different things we can never criticize feminism? I don't think so, that would be preposterous. What is important is that we are specific about what we criticize.

I criticize feminism because:

- most versions of feminism support some form of patriarchy theory - the notion that men hold most power and use it to oppress women - which is a sexist mix of hasty generalisation, apex fallacy and ignorance of actual evidence.

- feminism fluently fluctuates between two contradictory positions - on one hand feminists say they fight for equality of the sexes, on the other they disregard inequality faced by men saying men should fight for their own rights. (I have nothing against feminism fighting for women's rights exclusively, if they stopped pretending otherwise.)

- Many high-profile feminists and feminist groups committed documented acts of sexism and actively promote double standards. You can find myriad examples on this sub but I wish we would properly document these cases.

I actively oppose feminism because feminism actively opposes men's rights.

Feminists have fought to protect female rapists of male victims by both defining a woman raping a man as not rape (see Made to penetrate) and by fighting to keep raping men legal in places like India and Israel.

This is almost entirely a semantic argument about what "feminist" means.

A lot of people claim that feminism is about equal rights, and nobody should be objecting to the idea of everyone having the same rights. I think "feminism" is a strange thing to call a movement that claims to be about equal rights for everyone, but OK, if that's what it's about, fine, great, no objection.

The problem is that it very often isn't about equality, at least not for any reasonable definition of "equality". To justify outright anti-male bigotry, arguments are made that women (or insert other traditional victim group) cannot have the same opportunities as men (or insert other traditional oppressor group) because of historic practices, hidden bigotry, internalised prejudice, or other claims about the way society behaves.

Let's be clear: this is not intrinsically a bad argument. It's a falsifiable claim, and it is probably true in at least some situations, for at least some people - men and women. People are complicated and so is the world. That said, I don't personally think that it's true in society in general, particularly first-world societies, and certainly not enough to justify the sort of awful behaviour that's written off as feminism.

I think most people would consider themselves anti-that-sort-of-feminism. The argument tends to be about what sort of feminism is represented by any given incident. This is sociology and opinion is involved, and that is where the problems lie.

The thing is.. I don't think that most of us in the MRA are flat out 100% anti-feminist.. I'm more anti-specific things about feminism and its goals..
For example the Duluth Model was created, proposed and pushed by feminists.. and it's a methodology I am heavily against.

However, feminists lobbying to provide free menstrual products to women is fine with me and I wouldn't do anything to actively or even passively oppose it..

TL;DR: Being a MRA or believing in MRA views does not make you anti-feminist in the strictest definition.. however it should be noted that many of the goals of feminism today are very heavily anti-male and so for that reason many MRA's will tend to align as being anti-feminism on the basis that feminism is no longer about 'equality' but rather has shifted into a superiority movement against men.

I do consider myself anti-feminist but I really consider myself an egalitarian. It feels like a better label since it has no gendered words attached to it and it concerns itself in a lot of forms of equality. Now with that I don't want to be anti-feminist but the way the movement is established now and what it has become from the 1st and 2nd waves, which in my opinion had real causes to worry about instead of this nonsense they bicker about these days, I feel there is no reason to support the movement right now.

It's become clear to me that the movement, despite saying how they don't hate men, has spoken through their actions and words to make it clear they do in fact hate men. The movement today seems to be culture of victimhood and opposing anything that could be positive for men. Like they'll have no issues with Mother's Day but find Father's Day to be problematic. They'll be happy with International Women's Day coming around but when International Men's Day is brought and comes around, they're either opposing the day or finding some way to hijack it and still make it about women's issues.

They'll care about domestic violence when it affect women but will suddenly not have the resources or spaces available to help male victims of domestic violence but will support them through "spirit". Of course they have issues with DV shelters being opened up to take in male victims and will backlash the hell out of governments to prevent them from opening up or they financially bankrupt them. When you call these feminists out on it and show them the evidence, they'll find an excuse or move the goalpost to point out that it wasn't them or their sexist Duluth Model. Of course that Duluth Model has made it clear they don't recognize that men can be victims of DV, to them they are only the abusers and only provide help to curb their violent thoughts.

Let's not forget all the Feminist rhetoric that goes online like that hashtag to Kill All Men and insist they don't mean All men or that it's really just a joke. Also the fact they also love to say Men are Trash too while also insisting they aren't serious. Also let's not forget they celebrate anytime men become disadvantaged or when something is positive about women at the expense of men such as the bone-marrow baby nonsense that is supposed to make men extinct in the near future.

I'm sorry but with all of that, I have to be anti-feminist. And while they may label me an incel for saying this or thinking I am a trump supporter or some kind of anti-masker or anti-vaxxer, I do not regret saying this.

If you are for men's rights you have to be anti-feminist to a point. Certain feminist concepts are intrinsically anti-male, ie Patriarchy theory and toxic masculinity, and if men's rights are to succeed, both of those concepts have to be debunked and shown to be the awful ideas they are.

You can't be for men's rights if you view men as a group that oppresses men. You can see this in any interaction with a feminist that dismisses that men have any problems at all because they are the patriarchy.

"How can men have issues if they control society? If they control society, any issues they have is their fault anyway!"

How can men advocate for more support for suicide and DV if feminists gatekeep who can even be victims of either? Can't have a male DV shelter because women are getting beaten. Can't talk about suicide because women attempt suicide more. Can't talk about rape because men never* get raped.

*men are excluded from rape because made to penetrate isn't considered rape.

If you are a feminist and support and push patriarchy theory, you are inherently anti-male. You can issue platitudes and link me the list of things feminists are supposedly doing to help men, even tho most of that is how feminists believe shitting all over masculinity and blaming the world's problems on it is "helping", but that's not helping. Have men's suicide rates improved from your help? No. Have men gotten justice from their female rapists? No. Have men gotten shelters built for them? No. Have men gotten custody more? No. Have men's lives been improved from these feminists efforts? No.

So how can you be helping if you aren't helping? How can you be pro-male if your policies are anti-male? How can you claim to be for equality if you reinforce areas where women already have advantages, push disadvantages onto men, disparage men and masculinity, deny any issues with feminity or wrongdoing by women, and protest anything MRAs do?

I've talk about it quite a bit. Look at toxic masculinity as a concept. It's simultaneously used to label any behavior that is toxic as toxic masculinity, even if women have these behaviors as well. It's used to claim any stereotypes about masculinity that are harmful is TM. Any expectations of men or masculinity that is harmful is TM. What a wide, sweeping definition. It seems to include anything any everything that happens to or around or from men, and it blames all harmful behaviors and gendered expectations on men and masculinity. What is feminists proposal? To raise boys more like girls to teach them empathy. The same empathy that pulls fire alarms for men talking about suicide. The same empathy that wants to reduce men to 10% of the population. The same empathy that views masculinity as inherently toxic by their wide definition. The same empathy that denies men can be raped and its not proper to consider what happens with men as rape. The same empathy that denies men can be victims of domestic violence.

That's some empathy feminists really have. And they want men raised on that empathy, so the only conclusion is they want men to be raised to hate men as well.

So yes, I'm anti-feminist, because feminism has demonstrated its a hate movement.

I used to support feminism but there has been a clear line drawn in the sand that prevents me from ever recognizing it as a movement about equality and equal treatment under the law.

I am against feminism the same way that I am against any hate group. Feminism chooses to go down this path and they don't even try to hide it. The brand is forever tainted in my eyes. There is no saving it at this point. I understand there are still good things that are actually about equality that have and do come from this movement but I've never been a big fan of picking and choosing what you like and don't like about a cause to justify supporting it. You don't get to ignore/downplay the bad to justify the good. You don't get to say yeah but it has done so much good while ignoring the blatantly obvious double standards and hypocrisy.

The immense harm that feminism causes men for the sake of female privilege and lack of accountability disgusts me.

I grew up in a time I saw the real oppression of some women, I supported feminism and learned much about it. The more I learned I started seeing the problems created today by radical feminism.

I've known women who are brainwashed into being very rude and obnoxious then cry that nobody likes them. I've seen both sides and I now actively disagree with feminism, that being said, I don't think that disagreeing with feminism includes subjugating, patronizing or insulting women.

I look at it as the vast majority of women were never prepared to be "personally responsible" the way men are. This historical was the job of men, feminists claimed they could teach and empower women to be independent. I'm sure a small quantity benefited but the vast majority has just tried to skirt responsibility but maintain an independent facade. Women need to drop the fantasy created by feminism and see reality. People need each other, and as many men know you can survive alone but you don't really enjoy it without people to share it with.

Not really anti exactly. The roots of it's theory seem...kind of like a weird new religion. I mean...it outlines how to view the world, have its own moral standard, and talks about it's chosen people.

Now I have no problem with people holding their beliefs but it's what you do with them, how you practice them, and what the end goal of those beliefs are.

And frankly...all the behaviors I dislike from religious zealots (or let's broaden it to be...overly enthusiastic practitioners of a faith) are the same things I dislike from feminists:

Pushing their beliefs on you. Always talking about it. Having to be right. Finding anything outside their belief offensive/wrong/immoral. Using it as a rationale to hate or mistreat others. Trying to convert you. Always trying to push it into politics. Not willing to see any hypocrisy or contradiction in their faith.

That's why I'd say I'm not against it really. I just think if you want to keep your religion you need to practice it in a peaceful manner within your community. And that's not what I see from most feminists.

I've said it in other posts, so I'll say it here; if you're a white and middle class or above woman in this country you've probably never actually struggled.

Feminism was built, and is maintained by white middle class, or upper middle class women. They're the ones constantly spewing out this victim mentality that does nothing but bring the worst out in women. There's no room for any nuance, or any discussion that feminism might have gotten a few things wrong, or exaggerate the suffering of women. Minority women, and impoverished women really do need help. However that's a race and class issue, and not a gendered issue. Bill Burr does an amazing job of explaining this in his SNL monologue.

Basically feminism is creating a generation of entitled bitchy white women that think they can represent all women and all of there suffering. That's why I fucking hate feminism.

I personally don't disagree with the essence of feminism as it existed in the first and second waves, those were women actually fighting for their rights as humans. Given modern feminism however, it's hard for me to see it as much more than a hate movement dedicated to despising men, consolidating power among females and overall acting in a manner in my opinion disastrous to society (family, community and civilization).

Once that happens I no longer consider them feminists. I call them anti-people, because they lust for power and control and don't care about who they hurt. There are women's rights issues around the world, just as there are men's rights issues around the world. It isn't black or white. If there is merit to an argument, who cares if the argument is "on my side" or not. What I care about is the truth.

What I would like is a world with equal rights and where no one is treated like shit because of their sex, skin colour, etc. But rather judged by the contents of their character and behaviour.

I am personally not that anti-feminist.what I mean by that is when I see someone refer themselves as feminists; I hear everything thing they say from different perspectives to see if they are a good feminist ( e.g.believes both genders have problems and doesn't solely talk to me about the problems of theirs group and dismisses the problems that the other faces when brought up, not to belittle their problems but to remind them that everyone faces that problem) or a bad feminist (just read half the comments on the sub and you'll get a good idea of what that is)

If you ask me i'm against feminism on my country i wil say that their services use to be futile, but they have some points. If you ask the same to me on US, i will just say yes. But if you ask me that on Afghanistan or countries like that then i will say no.

At the end, i think the support i could give to an ideology depends on the context of the country, and i think there's countries where almost all of the theories and points that feminism has are totally true, but on other countries like UK or Spain i will take their ideology as tyranny.

You cannot enforce desired outcomes when you are dealing with people who have free will without unfairly discriminating on others in the process. I am pro-equality and anti-feminist. Feminism tries to assert itself as pro-equality but it has never demonstrated itself to be anything even remotely equal in it's approach, intent or actions. I see feminism as a hate movement and morally bankrupt perversion of equality is supposed to be. It's a movement that actively nurtures, defends and promotes inequality, while abusing and capitalizing on existing inequalities that favor women.

I do agree with some concerns and outcries feminists have such as those for reduced sexual violence/assaults and improve societal expectations or behaviors toward women. Let's face it some of our own genders behaviors are vulgar and should be looked down upon. I support and recognize a lot of issues that men face that are not seen as important or even recognized by much of the feminist community, and many of them say it's our own fault and not a shared fault between men and women in society. I don't agree with a lot of the proposed changes that feminists suggest and much of their community, although claiming to be for equality, are really for down right matriarchy.

It depends on what you mean by feminism. I am in favor if equal rights for women and men. If that is all you mean by feminism then most everyone is a feminist. But feminists typically advocate for the advancement of benefits that advantage women. In some cases some feminists advocate for things that unfairly privilege women relative to men. In those cases I do not agree with them.

I consider myself both. I know egalitarianism is there but even for that to apply, we are always switching from MRA to feminism from time to time. If we see any injustice happening to women, we have to be advocating for them. We won't be advocating for men and women. That's basically the definition of feminism, advocacy of women's rights on the equality of the sexes. Of course, the term has been hijacked and even flaws during the starting of the movement has also been pointed out many times, however, they have achieved many things as well. People who think it is a complete sham should definitely read more about the atrocities faced by women. I can find many flaws in the MRAs which can easily be concocted into many other things in the future and I can imagine many thinking about MRAs in a worse light than we see feminism in right now. Still, whenever I see someone use the word "feminism", I automatically feel like I've read some kind of bad word. That's how it is these days and I will decide whether to change my opinion on the person only after I read the entire conversation on feminism. I believe you will have to support one side at a given point of time in any issue no matter what perspective you have on it. I have seen fundraisers on breast cancer during matches and I did think about how I've read somewhere that prostate cancer is more prevalent than breast cancer and I've not seen any fundraisers for that. But I won't be going there on the day they are raising awareness for breast cancer and talk about prostate cancer. It is only when they come and argue with me when I try to create awareness about prostate cancer will I try to argue with whatever I know.

Women have messed up our society, and done everything in their power to make sure men are less free. 1919 women got the right to vote, in less then 4 election cycles America(which until this point had fiercely protected the right to bear arms) got its VERY FIRST FEDERAL GUN CONTROL BILL, AND BOY WAS IT A BIG ONE. It's why rifles have to have 16 inch barrels or longer, not 15.9 inches but 16inches, because 16 inches is the exact lengh that criminals stop using guns to shoot each other, or some ridiculous logic. And it goes on and on and on, the 1934 national firearms act is horrible and filled with lies and logical fallacies. And it would not exist if women never got the right to vote. I am not being anti woman here these are facts. The Democratic party is the party of gun control, ON THE WHOLE. Yes there have been times when Republicans have turned coat and enacted gun control, but it was always first championed by dems. And then republicans were either tricked into it, pressured into it, or given bad information. Now if we agree that dems are the gun control party, and we do, that is not really debatable, and the majority of women vote Democrat(suburban women of any race overwhelmingly vote Democrat) then without those women votes dems would never win another national election. Sure some men would still vote dem, but without the women vote dems would never be able to get a majority, without changing their platform. Dems are also the ones looking to make speech laws, and thought crimes. They are the party of censorship. They literally want us to be less free. That is one of the reasons why I am not just pro mens rights, but anti feminist, the other one is that EVE STOLE MY GOD DAMN RIB AND I WANT IT BACK!
