Actually many species are naturally hypergamous. These are called tournament species and its typically the top males who reproduce and are polygamous. For example the lion.

Genetic bottlenecking is not a serious issue in large modern nations, genetic diversity is going to decrease for several reasons (mostly low fertility) but not significant enough to warrant worrying about it.

There are several dysgenic trends in modern society, IQ's are dropping and will continue to drop in the West and genetic disease loads are probably increasing but this isn't due to lack of genetic diversity.

Our population is far too large overall, for this issue to be concerned about. In the past, this was an issue, but we have overcome it because we have as much diversity as we do. People in America are mixing races completely. That’s why we are all so genetically mixed.

If you look at the populations that are not genetically mixing such as the Amish, Hasidic Judaism, parts of Islam, they are dying off with genetic mutations that are causing disease. This is a very small percentage of the population.

At one point in time these groups were larger and our overall population was much smaller.

Even with people having less children, the population is still 7 billion which is the largest it’s ever been in the history of mankind.

Women can be attracted to the top 20% of men, but that isn’t who they end up with. The top 20% of men are going to choose the top 20% of women ultimately. The people who are “ average “ if your going by attractiveness alone in youth, are going to be the people that are the most monogamous yes, but also the most attractive women will eventually settle down too.

Due to wars in the past, the weakest men died out and their was less of an issue for men to get mates overall. The men that can’t mate, is because of natural selection. There’s a reason why women choose the mates we do. We aren’t even aware of why sometimes.

For example, a lot of women aren’t attracted to gingers. It’s unfortunate for gingers but our natural selection innately tells us gingers can’t survive in the hunt. They stand out, they can’t withstand long periods of sunlight and they are noticeable to the prey, so they will be less likely to get the kill.

This is so back rooted in our genetic makeup that in modern day, this makes zero sense, but at one point in time, it was a survival issue.

We haven’t lost some of that wiring in our natural selection.. therefore by studies, gingers are still having difficulty mating.

I've noticed that divorced women in their 60s often post pictures with their sons (adults). It's always interesting how tall the sons are for the most attractive women. My observation and hypothesis is that they married the hot, tall guys and said men moved on to younger women. Also, these women often live in the most exclusive towns.

Your cousin theory on genetics may not be correct. In finding transplant donors, after siblings, the cousins are no different than unrelated strangers.

Hypergamy is a good thing if operated with societal supervision of parents and siblings. I see many nieces and nephews making good mate choices. I think the big problem is the acceptance of being obese, lazy, and generally being yourself instead of improving. Being thin-skinned and not looking for criticism and accepting one can be better.

You're confusing the market for casual sex with the reproductive success market. Bad news, friend --- good looks are at best very weakly correlated with reproductive success and so are most "masculine" qualities.

In men, there was a threshold effect so that men in the lowest attractiveness quartile had 13% fewer children than others who did not differ from each other in the average number of children.
