Moderation is key. If porn impedes your responsibilities, if it detracts from your relationships, if it feels like an addiction, it's too much.

IMO, porn use should be more fueled by curiosity instead of compulsion.

You haven't properly considered any potential negatives but dismissed two weaker arguments in ways that aren't very convincing. For example, you could say that surely erectile dysfunction damages self esteem, ability to masturbate and the likelihood that a man ever will leave his bedroom and find someone. And you can say that celebrating and masturbating to exploitation, literally watching people getting raped on camera and enjoying it, is worse than passively accepting exploitation you don't even see, or that we should make an effort to contribute to as little exploitation as possible even if it seems impossible to cut out completely. And all the benefits you mentioned aren't actually benefits of porn, but masturbation, which you can do very well without porn, if you aren't addicted at least.

I don't agree. Not saying I never watch it, but there is a lot of evidence that porn has negative effects on men. So many men cannot even get an erection or ejaculate because they watch so much porn and have a 'death grip' that the stimulation of an actual vagina isn't going to cut it. Porn makes our human interactions with women to be very stunted and confusion. Porn has been shown to make men look at women as sexual objects. That doesn't even get into how common porn addiction probably is for many men, or how intense this is because of the dopamine spikes of porn men get fed on.

Porn also has given men a reason to avoid interacting with women. I don't disagree that modern dating and modern feminism have made a lot of women terrible candidates for relationships, but having porn has given men an option for some 'replacement' of women that is not health. For what its worth, I think men would be most happy finding a good woman and having a relationship of depth because these women are out there, even if they are hard to find.

Not saying I would ban porn or I don't watch it sometimes, but to say that porn has no negative for men is an intellectually dishonest argument to make.

First, just saying that arguments against porn are pseudoscience when this, this completely nonscientific argument is what your defending, is absurd. You are guilty of the same sin.

More relevant is that I am reminded of a monologue from Craig Ferguson about his alcoholism. I use the example often. In it he describes how alcoholism saved his life; he planned one day to kill himself but then when offered to go out drinking did that instead. The point is that just because alcoholism helped him cope with something worse, suicidal thoughts, that doesn't make alcoholism good.

Porn may seem to help with loneliness/sexual frustration ect... but that is not counter balanced to actual healthy behavior. The same way it would be absurd to say "alcoholism and good mental health are both positive in that they help with suicidal thoughts."

All that is even assuming that there are valuable positives to porn for the average man, which I have a hard time thinking of. See, its not just porn=erectile dysfunction. Porn addiction causes psychological changes that then result in erectile dysfunction. This is a matter of treat the disease, not the symptoms. Erectile dysfunction is the symptom of a much more significant psychology change. A change initiated and reinforced by porn.

I think it's harmful, especially beyond a certain point, but if you're someone who's never had much luck finding a real-life relationship, you're unlikely to have much motivation to abstain. Even deeply religious people find themselves looking more often than they want to admit, especially since all you need to do is type in a couple words; gone are the days where men had to hide Playboys in their room.

And women consume plenty of it as well. If you take erotica into account, not merely sites like Pornhub and OnlyFans, there isn't much difference in consumption rates. I suspect developing a porn habit is more of a symptom of sexlessness than a cause.

If you get your sexual release with porn, you are less motivated to actually approach women and get to the state that even you think is better than porn. Porn keeps you in a lower state of being loop, if you are without a partner or can't already secure regular sexual partners. Sexual urges are a huge motivator for men.

By porn I mean nudity and recorded sex.

It is my understanding that in certain Asian cultures human genitalia and bodies are celebrated and seen as divine with a mystical air; many women in the west would roar with laughter at the idea of worshipping the divine masculinity of her man. This is the western-christian appreciation of the body which is now heavily influenced by feminism with women being granted priesthood and women holding exhibitions about vaginas.

It is nice that women are empowered but we have no balance in the west; male bodies and especially male genitals are often depicted as comical and silly. Porn is the closest thing to celebrating the male body and even porn is often peak simping where a paid actor pays a paid actress on film to have sex with him and then they got both paid for pretending to have made a transaction.

Porn is mostly about female fantasies; does not matter if it's amateur or commercial. It's the same big dick guy banging hundreds of different women and women are all about him being big, big, big...then you come on forums and women say that size is not all that and they like male bodies. Where are the videos of that happening? Women don't watch artistic nude videos of men. They watch the big dick bang videos that men also have to do with.
