I’m in the process of divorce and my (still) wife recently reached out about the possibility of getting back together.

We’ve had court for dueling restraining orders. I ended up dropping mine to protect her professional license, as she would need to work to make money.

She still pursued hers and it was granted.

She lied in court, tried to make me look unstable to friends and family outside of court. Her mother lied about me in court. Her brother has vandalized our home during a bipolar episode, in which he also told me how he really felt about me being in his family.

On one hand, I see possibilities on how I can respond to her personality style differently.

I obviously can’t control her behavior or her willingness to take responsibility.

I’m also not sure if I can put the genie back on the bottle. What was said about me, how she requested absurd custody orders which limit me to EOW, when we practically shared equal parenting responsibilities.

And she hasn’t admitted that she needs to change. She seems to still be putting the onus on me.

Am I just missing my kids, romanticizing the past, or have some of you guys made it work after nasty run-ins like this?

Thanks in advance, fellas.
