Can we put to the rest idea that looks = character. People are shitty of different looks. People are egoistical and selfish of any looks. Insecure, bitchy, etc of any looks. Handsome guys are not necessary assholes, ugly guys are not necessary good guys. There is no rule that if i look better than the guy (tho who is a judge?) then he for sure will act great and put effort...And vice versa.

It's funny how i see men claim that looks are the most important and like that's the only reason for being rejected.

My recent rejections at the same time:
- he smelled bad
- he was too boring to hold a conversation
- he was flaky
- he touched me in the way i didn't enjoy
- he kissed in a way i didn't enjoy
- there was no flirt and no reaction to mine, friend vibes, but i'm not looking for friends.
- he smoked.
- he started off as judgmental.
- he threw a show about how he will do everything for me and didn't bother to arrange a date. Even after i told him to do it.
- he didn't respect my boundaries and pushed for information i didn't want to give.
- he invited me on a walking date when it was freezing and ice on a roads and when i said that lets do something indoors - he tried again two days after.

I'm looking for casual only, by the way. So their values are of no consequence to me, as long as he doesn't impose them onto me. I also don't care about money, job, etc.

I had a thought about looks and more accurately: loooksmaxxing in it’s current trend

It started when it was revealed Clavicular admitted his penis don’t work because of all the steroids and PEDs he’s been doing since 14. It Seemed pretty crazy to “get a bod women want” for it not to matter.

But then I kept seeing all these post of RPs defending how he looks. Even telling women they were wrong. Literally saying “women will find a body like that attractive!!” TO women.

But a great body with a non working organ? It really wouldn’t make much sense if this was all for the “female gaze” would it?

But then it was revealed he’s got a “looksmaxxing” subscription site. $49.99 a month to get the “Clavicular system”.

So what if all his plastic surgery and steroid use wasn’t actually to appeal to women? what if it’s actually a tool to appeal to men, mostly young men who might subscribe? What if the appeal is to get a body that appeals more to what men think is sexy to women more than to women themselves? What if the point is to use the social media algorithms to make men feel inadequate, by constantly showing them “ideal bodies” till they start feeling inadequate? And then “I can get you there- just pay 50 bucks a month”! So the t8 model, but with a lookmax twist

Seemed like something worth exploring.

So whenever a guy would post a shirtless guy in the daily I would just ask if it was a picture he went looking for OR if it was fed to him by IG/tikTok etc. and if it was pushed by the algorithm, if it was things he liked and subscribed, or if it’s just the algorithm saying “I think these guys will like this content”

But every time I asked. Under there would be angry comments “stop calling us gay! You think we are gay! It’s not gay!” And few other eyebrow raising comments

Men don't get to determine who their "looksmatch" is anymore than women get to determine that for men. Your feelings about who your "looksmatch" is are only your feelings and not any kind of objective reality that others must acknowledge, agree with, and behave accordingly to. That's just entitlement

"Looksmatches" are subjective. A consensus of subjective opinion doesn't magically make that opinion objective reality. More people agreeing that chocolate ice cream tastes better than vanilla doesn't make chocolate ice cream the objectively better tasting ice cream. People who experience a more pleasant taste with vanilla won't magically have a different sensory experience just because a bunch of other people were more aligned with chocolate tasting better. That's why it's subjective, not objective.

The idea that due to "runaway hypergamy," "dating apps," or whatever the excuse du jour is is causing all these "male 5s" to not get "their matches" is not only completely unproven by any data anywhere, it still relies on a man taking his own opinion of his looks as objective fact others must adhere to and it also fundamentally contradicts the whole "your match is who you can get" mentality that underlies the idea of the "dating marketplace."

On that note, the excuse that "markets can be irrational" when this is called out is also based on nothing more than mens' feels. "I'm not getting the pussy I think I should, so the marketplace is wrong and irrational."

There's also zero actual evidence of "inflated looks standards" "distorting the marketplace," much less due to things like dating apps or casual sex with "out of our league men." Literally no part of that entire narrative has any basis in proven factual reality. There's never been any studies that the reason women aren't pairing up with men as much is because they're not hot enough; there's never been any proof that as a matter of course "women get stuck on their highest setting" and can never be happy with a less physically attractive man (Selena Gomez, Giselle Bundchen, Ariana Grande etc. also prove that's not how female sexuality works); there's never been any data about women choosing to exclusively or primarily use dating apps for casual sex; and there's never been any data about who or what the attractiveness of those casual sex partners is (much less that they're all much higher than the women). Every single part of this narrative is unsupported by any data in the real world.

No, your "logical" extrapolations, theories, suppositions, and hypotheses that you weave together into a web of fiction still isn't and never will be actual data or proof of any of this is reality

Looks matter. But looks aren't the only thing. Looks aren't even the most important thing.

What men think is the ideal male is vastly different than what women think is the ideal male.

Young men today seem to care more about what other men think. They align their appearance to look like other men, because that's what other men find attractive in men.

It's like these men create their own self fulfilling prophecy of not being picked by women. Because they are aligning themselves with what men value.
