one of my neighbours is a example of a really bad "passport bro". whenever i see him and his family, he's always speaking harshly and acting physically aggressive towards them.

As someone from the Philippines who now lives in America, you will get women like one of my aunties who married an American man to have a better life, enjoy the money from his hard labor, and not interact with him at all after he gave her a kid lol.

You are assuming that the third world women in this scenario are gong to take this opportunity and be madly in love with him, when really to get out of these countries, it requires being extremely sharp and mercenary. They are getting a free pass to get a job in a country that pays much better; do you understand this? They’d find some lonely guy and tell him lies just to get here. Hell, one of my uncles married a lonely American lady he did not love just be here.

So by all means, let these men experience mercenary controlling women from my motherland. Let her take his money and send it back to the Philippines. They may not even stay with him after earning her money lol, she’s not tied by marriage.

I don’t think most women in the US would care beyond some tik tok idiots and their braindead takes. In general, I think undesirable men highly overestimate how much time women spend thinking about them. It’s practically zero.

But there could be issues:

What if the woman and the guy break up? What if the guy turns out to be abusive? What if their union doesn’t produce a child? Is there a timeframe?
If this takes off then it fucks over the third world country. Lots of those countries have worse birth rates than the US. Like if a big percentage of those women leave, their birthdate drops even more.
I can imagine the men in those countries will not just take this lying down if it becomes very popular. I can see an uptick in violence and femicide against women who try to leave.

The dating/relationship market is supposed to be about trading so both sides get what they want not just one side and men are refusing to give women what they want which is why the trade isn’t happening. No? I don't care if random men have sex or not, provided they aren't harming anyone. I don't care what random women do either.

I'm not American, but some EU countries (like the Netherlands) offer visas for registered partners. Women don't have an issue with European men dating or marrying foreign women, because there's a proper system in place here, ensuring they come over legally and aren't a burden to society.

These visas come with income requirements, civic integration exams for certain foreign partners, and other legal must-haves.

So yeah... if America had a system like this in place, it wouldn't be American women "blocking their happiness". You'd just have to go through all the steps to achieve visa sponsorship through legal means, which isn't as easy as women being "allowed to move to the U.S, as long as they are dating a preapproved [sic] man".

I'm more interested in it if we better define what dating means. If you mean will go on upwards of say 3 dates with a dude and is not required to nor incentivized by any structure to have sex with him, then I'd at least entertain it. Especially if you're equally willing to include the same visa structure for men. And if we somehow include oversight where women are protected and men can be reported and kicked out for abuse VERY easily.

I swear I remember reading about something similar back during the fur trade and gold rush eras. Women....well mostly 16 year old girls but different era, who had no family support or economical support would get on a boat and enter a lottery type of deal to come to British north America to marry a random fur trapper and miner cus the men needed wives and you had a bunch of young women wkth no protection.

It really didn't work out that well.

Your scenario wouldn't work out well either, this is perfect for abusive ppl to find victims that will be trapped with them both men and women alike. Sex lives, date opportunities, relationships, and birth rates are all different things. The only thing your scenario addresses is date opportunities.

The reason ppl would push back against this is the same reason ppl don't approve of "mail-order brides." It invites abuse with the appearance of a connection. A person can be strong-armed into agreeing, and then tightly controlled, with minimal effort. That's only ok if your goal is to get good numbers, no matter what looks like in actual practice.

If men actually do want a date on those terms, there are plenty of homeless women. Can a man complain that he has no options if he hasn't approached all of the homeless women in his city?

(Bizarre to claim that it's "controlling men's sex lives" to expect them to abstain if no one consents to sex with them. A bit like saying you're controlling my finances if I'm not allowed to steal to make up for the fact that no one's giving me money willingly.)

Women are not "punishing" men by not having sex with them. Nature intended men to be selected on either looks or money/status. When you equalize men and women. When there is no obvious status difference. A lot of men seem unappealing. That is a structural flaw that is incredibly difficult to address. Because equalizing men and women has been extremely beneficial to our economies. Women are highly productive in the modern world where having big muscles doesn't give you any benefit.
