A very smart woman commented this on a previous post (I will go back and add her name here when I get a chance). This struck a chord with me: how many of you have struggled with this in your relationships with men? The constant "I didn't mean to hurt you" argument which is meant to excuse their actions and grant them absolution from having to take responsibilities for their actions. Often partnered with "I had no idea that would hurt you," essentially putting the blame on the woman for not preemptively communicating all the possible scenarios she never wants to find herself in. In a partner, I expect someone who is accountable for their own actions, has a simulacrum of common sense and will treat a woman like she's a real person with feelings who looks out for her own interests in a relationship, not some kind of impartial justice system that has to hear witnesses and take into account intent and circumstances before she's allowed to come to a conclusion about how he feels about how she's been treated.

Would love your opinions on this.
