Probably a dumb question, but the statistics show that subsequent marriages have a higher rate of divorce…

In my case, the gal I married (and later divorced) was also my first serious relationship. (I’m 36, she’s 32. We divorced last year after nearly 4 years married and nearly 7 together).

I was a very late bloomer in life…didn’t really start dating until I was about 25. And I learned a great deal along the way about the complicated issues I still needed to work on within myself from the divorce. It was amicable, no kids, went no contact. Tried everything I could to try and hold it together but it was no use. It just wasn’t meant to be…

I can tell now that it will be a while before I’m truly in a place where I can be who I need to be for my next relationship (I straight up punched my wall so hard it left a dent today…all because this gal on Hinge pissed me off with cheap shots she took about my dog that I opened up to her about that I missed, because doggo went with my ex. It was a childish response on my part, but it does tell me I’m definitely still very broken despite therapy and everything…)

You would think that being more knowledgeable would lead to more success in subsequent marriages, but you could argue that the baggage and becoming jaded also work against you in the same manner.

I’m just curious what you all think, if it’s worth it or not. I do want to be happy, trying to work on myself. Really shouldn’t be looking for a relationship right now probably…it’s been more “fun” lately (although even that has been tainted by fucking ED and nerves…)
