Im already on guard when a guy approaches me, and for good reason. WTF would I go around approaching random men. And any guy with a a whisper of common sense going through his head will realize the risk of us being alone with him is far greater than his risk of being alone with us, and that he needs to put in the effort to show hes worth the risk of going out on a date with.

I could never date a guy who was that blind to the reality of meeting and dating men. Women are like pizza to LVM. He may not be particularly hungry, he may not be in the mood for pizza, it may not be his favorite kind of pizza, it may not be very good pizza at all, but if it's free he'll gladly take a slice when offered.

If men would turn down women they're not really interested in then I MIGHT consider the proposal that women should do some pursuing. But unfortunately that's not the reality we live in. A LVM will string a woman along for years for girlfriend/wife perks and easy access to sex. If he didn't pursue you then he was either never all that interested in you or he lacks confidence because he knows he brings nothing to the table (making him someone you shouldn't waste your time on by default). A man who has accomplishments he's proud of who's legitimately interested in you will pursue you.

I used to pursue men. The only time I was ever turned down was because the guy was gay. Let that sink in.

I used to be just like this. Initiated practically everything. In my past relationships I was always the one planning date nights, and had severe anxiety because my exes never made the plans so I always stressed about being annoying or too much.

Since I have joined this sub, I have changed so much. I left a toxic situationship in December, and yesterday, for the first time in over a year, I was asked out on an actual dinner date. No “let’s grab a drink” or “wanna watch a movie?” but actually a man messaging me (after I unintentionally left him on read might I add) asking me if I wanted to meet him for dinner at a Thai restaurant (we had previously discussed our love for Thai food). It felt so good to be asked out on a proper date. Thank you FDS for making me feel empowered and independent ❤️

That kind of titles are so subtly manipulative. They are wording it as if it was shameful for us to initiate and take charge, and women generally really wanted to but held back. When actually most women have never thought like this because men came to them. It makes impressionable women think "oh maybe I should really do it!" thinking it's something radical and new to try, when they didn't even think about who initiates first because they never needed to.

Is it just me or this "take charge" makes it seem like it was an obligation to prove how egalitarian they are? Relationships are supposed to feel easy, you're supposed to naturally want to do things for each other, not be proving what a strong independent woman you are by leading and giving while receiving half-hearted efforts in return.

Men like this are THE MOST contemptible. FIRST of all, they have no masculine pride, the belief that it is manly and desirable to take initiative in life and care/provide for women and a family.
