I only realized how happy I was, when I married and our kids were born (that happened quite soon).

Let's only consider one factor here: money spending in marriage. Ignore kids (probably you will be lucky and have no kids), ignore nagging and possible divorce - the big bogeyman of modern marriage.

Also let's assume she also works, maybe her salary is comparable to yours, maybe slightly less. Then all your money go into same pot.

From which you need: food, a pair of jeans and shoes every year. Maybe car maintenace.

She needs:

- Fancy restaurants. Sushi delivery.

- Lots of clothes and accessories. She is off/on diet and her size varies, so does fashion. New things every month or two.

- Beauty care: nails, hair, feet, various alchemy potions for her face and body skin. Perfume of course.

- Gifts. There are many aniversaries every year. And of course you can't just buy something useful. Buy jewelry!

- Travel. Maybe twice a year. Jet, hotel, restaurants again.

Of course you two will be short on money often, but that's your fault. You don't earn enough.

One might think that is an exaggeration, but this is real experience.

You can get married or buy realty or save and get passive income by 40.

Of course, family gives your some chance of raising kids that might help you when you are too old.

But savings and investment seems to be a better strategy.

If you have no dates and can't find your future wife, think again - maybe you dodged a bullet?
