How do you think relationships and dating will change when women out earn men?

Women will place more of an emphasis on looks and less on money and status when it comes to looking for a partner. Unattractive men will be the ultimate losers in this type of society for a couple reasons. For unattractive men, their trump card was traditionally how much money they have and their ability to financially provide, which meant that for unattractive but financially well off men, they were able to make up for their looks with their wealth potential. However, in a society where women are highly educated and out earn men, this means that money is less important, which means that unattractive men lose the one quality that makes them attractive to women, which is their wealth potential.

Less and less couples because women refuse to date down. It isn't even limited to money it is education and job sector as well a woman office worker making $40,000 a year will refuse to date an electrician making $90,000 a year even though he obviously makes more than her.

Nothing much will change, just as there are lazy men with degrees, there will also be lazy women with degrees, not everyone wants to grind a 9-5.

Interresting question but the assumptions are false. They were like 5% of girls in my engineering school (it) and they weren't near the top. (They were equally distributed along the ladder).

Because even if they are more women in college, they are not in the fields where they can outearn men.

When I see posts like this it reminds me that people seem to think the majority of women are these high earning career driven women. But the majority of women are the ones working retail, or at Walmart, or the grocery store, at the warehouse, or at some call center. These women will still be looking for the men that “educated” women think aren’t good enough. I’ve dated both college educated career driven women and regular every day “blue collar” women. The “educated” women have more trouble dating because it’s harder for them to meet a guy in real life who satisfies the dream image of the life they want. While the regular every day women really just want a good guy who can hold a job and they’ll build a life with him. The same guy who’s mediocre to the “educated” woman is the regular woman’s dream guy. And I always say men naturally “settle” eventually. Yeah they may want the hottest chick with the fancy education. But if she’s not checking for him or looks at him like he’s not good enough he’ll eventually go with the girl who might be less educated and slightly less attractive, but she appreciates and loves him for who he is and treats him like a king. Many educated women, on the other hand, rather be alone forever than “settle” for a regular guy who genuinely loves them and treats them right.

Are indeed kicking ass in academia, and getting the majority of advanced degrees, but between the mountain of student loan debt, the useless fields of study, the desire to have kids, wanting to live more balanced lives as opposed to being money chasers, and being largely absent from well paying fields, I don't see it happening. At all.

True story. Guy and girl work together. The quit their jobs in the same month. Guy joins the military. Girl goes on to get her masters in anthropology in a foreign country. Fast Forward 10 years, and guy has a steady career in the military where he will be able to retire in 10 years while girl is living with her parents working as a bank teller with 65K of student loan debt and chose to go back to school to become a dental assistant.

I think income disparity doesn’t matter as much if you are masculine, charismatic, and attractive. So I expect that a minority of men would learn how to max out those traits and harness the benefits, and an increasingly large number of men that can’t/won’t/don’t know how will give up on dating altogether. It’s really just the logical extension of where we already find ourselves.

In terms of what it would look like, I think it will just be OLD spilling over into the real world. When you take income out of the equation, male sexual competition will increasingly be focused on things like aesthetics, social skills, talent displays, and lifestyle cues, probably in that order of importance.

Women already out earn alot of partners they choose . Don't think this is anything new.
Blue Collared workers mass majority of men only make about 40-80k a year.
Women marry these men all the time out earning them .

Most couples don't marry somebody that does the same thing as them the only individuals that I know that do marry people within the same career field are lawyers and doctors , because they want to be with somebody that understands the complications and time invested for that kind of job.

The only reason why I bring this up is because somebody had mentioned the supposed gender wage gap which would only apply to somebody depending on what field they're working in ,because being in the medical field I make more than police officers , firefighters, welders , and teachers . No matter the gender.

In my age group women out earn men by 20%.

If these women don't leave the workforce to have kids (birth rates are dropping across the board) then in the next 30 years as they grow through the business, women will dominate every position of power in government, companies and NGOs.

They will dominate because they are currently given preference for promotion by fact of having a vagina. With those extra opportunities, they gain more experience meaning if we were to revert back to an equal footing with no female preference, they would still be more qualified thanks to the extra experience they managed to get while we gave women preference.

So either women will continue expecting men to be the provider, despite out earning men across the board. Putting men in an impossible position, and all the consequences of that.

Or, women will become the provider, and men will be the home maker, caring for children, or even being trophy husbands. In which case TRP comes in and you better start working out.

Or, the cost of living continues to rise as governments fail to cut inflation and both partners need to work full time professional jobs to be able to afford a middle class lifestyle. Thus making getting a relationship a necessity rather than an option. Equalising dating across the board. (Does it matter if he/she is ugly if you need him/her to pay half the rent?)

You will see the opposite affect like Japan no one will have kids and the govt will panic. Women will biologically have higher suicide and depression rates. Because they are going against their nature. Men will figure out how to survive due to now spending time to get ahead instead of chasing women they cant obtain. More women are gonna have to become comfortable with the idea of "dating down" or just remaining singing, poly relationships will be more mainstream ( which is happening with or without it), marriage rates are going to continue to go down, childless rates will continue to go up.

The women we'll probably keep looking for Big Daddy government to bail them out as far as student loan debt, because somehow people don't understand that you have to pay it back even though it's called a loan lol, so there could be more of a political divide in the dating scene as well

As far as from the male side of it, most of us will probably try to go to trades , some kind of skilled labor like that, old-school networking and rejecting feminism will be crucial, you'll probably see more and more men leave the college/corporate workspace, I would have never went to college if I didn't get a scholarship but I've said this before and I'll say it again, if I was 17 18 19 as a man now, there is no fucking way that I would enter into Corporate America

Outperforming and outnumbering

Simply going to college for a bullshit major isn't really indicative of anything in all fairness. Your raw earnings actually don't matter that much if your debt: income ratio is relatively high (dramatically more so if that debt is at a higher interest rate).

Until women start magically outperforming and outnumbering men in CS or other high-demand majors (which is highly unlikely, because it's a pretty well known meme that the women who do get through CS are usually doing so by being carried by male CS students who simp for them), I'm going to continue holding on to my beliefs.

How many women would be earning good money to if corporations didn't decide to reserve high-paying bullshit make-work job that almost exclusively hire women just for the sake of PR and mitigating litigation risk?
