Most on this sub know my general perspective that men whose immutable physical traits are at least average looking are able to enter women's "looks threshold." This is especially the case if said average-looking men choose to "looks-max" via mutable characteristics like muscle mass, grooming, and style. These men are even more likely to sexually arouse a woman if they choose to spruce up the persona traits that women's arousal reacts to such as assuredness, intuitive assertiveness, sociability, etc. which tend to present as masculinely sexy.

So back to the title: What are examples of average-looking men?

Generally speaking, regarding immutable physical traits, I'd say a 20-something guy who is 5'9, a 4/5/6 face out of 10, a normal shoulder width body frame (not slight and not broad), and who isn't visibly balding yet is squarely "average looking" in the United States.

Here are my submissions for "average looking" men:

  • Inb4, I know this differs per ethnicity, but for the sake of mainstream American resonance, I'll use an example of a white guy. This guy's before picture is close to what I envision when I think of "average-looking" dude. As a woman, I related to this video, because I can see that a thing this guy learned that a lot of women learn too is how to hold his face. Even after his lifting and dieting looks-maxing, it's clear that his "after" photo does look even more "hot" than him just talking to us in the video. He also has a more stylistic hair cut in the photo than he does in the video. That said he overall looks much better than he used to look. Bro knows the tips and tricks and angles! Good for him!
  • I'll also offer up Reddit's TrueRateMe subreddit for examples. I know those dudes are hyper-fixating pedants, but at least they created a rubric whether it's a one we all agree to or not lol. Here's their guide for men in this link. On a scale of 1-10, I'd say anywhere "4-6" is what we'll call "average-looking face" for the sake of this OP.
  • This guy seems average looking to me but idk. This is what I mean in that I imagine many people will disagree on the submissions in the replies.

Some caveats: I mean average-looking not "ugly" so don't reply with someone who looks like Elephant Man and call him average-looking. Don't reply with "most average guys are fat" because that's a mutable characteristic and I am discussing immutable characteristics not characteristics that can change, so if all you can find is pudgy guys then that tell us most average dudes you can think of are choosing to present as below-average (as are women. but this OP ain't about women). You can use a a famous person or a stock images or anything you find on the internet that was meant for public consumption.
