A lot of men on here talk about what it's like for unattractive men to be attracted to attractive women and the scorn that they show. That may be the case, but I do think the opposite can also be true. I have no issue with anyone (within reason) being attracted to me if they're respectful about it, but I've had a couple of interactions with men where they seem genuinely angry at me for them being attracted to me.

I’ve finally figured out how to deal with my newly curly hair. Bro I know is super quiet, has terrible social skills, works for a very low wage, lost his driver's license due to being a hardcore stoner in his past and lived with his parents until he was 28. However, he has a 6.5/10 face, full hair and, most importantly, is 6'5 and skinny. He's in his second LTR now since he started seriously looking at 25.

For women a guy being good looking is about 60% of the equation. If he's good looking then that will be enough for short term relationships and can negate him lacking in other categories (finances, personality, status) for long-termrelationships. If he doesn't have good looks there is nothing he can do to make up for it to get genuine desire from her.

For men a woman being good looking is only about 33% of the equation. If she doesn't have them there are a lot of categories(loyalty, personality, femininity, affection, caring, sexual openness, love) that she can excel in that will nullify her being unattractive.

When I turned 20, I had casual sex with 3 men, all about a month and a half/2 months apart. When I look at it this way, it seems normal, but when I think of the fact that I have had sex with 6 men it makes me feel ashamed…. can anyone relate or offer some advice? Or provide some comfort? I think it’s unfair to say women care less about looks. Men and women’s look filters have TWO properties: filter strength AND filter threshold.

Men’s looks filters have high strength but a lower threshold. Men are less likely to date a woman they aren’t attracted to, but they have lower thresholds that are easier for women to meet.

Women, on the other hand have a high threshold but lower strength. Women tend to find most men very average and mediocre and so it’s hard for men to pass their threshold and actually be physically attractive. However, women’s filter has a lower strength and they are able to “consider” some of those average and mediocre men for other things.

Comparing the filters purely based on filter strength completely ignores the difference in thresholds and demonizes men unnecessarily.

Alright here we go:

Makeup does make people look better than they normally do. That's usually the entire point.

Zendaya is mid.

Kristen Stewart is mid.

Jennifer Lawrence is mid.

Emma Watson is mid.

And by mid, I mean a 6 at best. They're just young(ish) and thin with no obvious facial deformities and no extreme proportions, but if you saw them without makeup most of you wouldn't look twice. For an example of who I consider below average for men and women, Jesse Plemons and Kirsten Dunst are a wonderfully looksmatched couple. I'd consider them both a 4 in their youth. Jesse has aged much worse - much like Leo, his head is so fucking big/wide now it makes his already incongruent features (small eyes, small mouth, larger nose) look worse like Pops from the Regular Show.

Plenty of people in Hollywood are above average without makeup - just the nature of the game. But there's definitely women whose entire beauty is the result of professional makeup artists and being thin/young.

If you're an average height man, your body and face boost your attractiveness more than extra inches. Very few women are going to pick 6' Mark Zuckerberg over 5'9" Henry Cavill. Or, to make it slightly more balanced, very few women will pick a 6' Michael Cena over a 5'9" John Krasinski (Office era).

Blackpillers have a point, but they go way, way too far with it. Some features are more desirable than others, but facial harmony matters a lot too. Attractiveness is largely about the sum of the parts. So "hunter eyes," "canthal tilt" is not really what it's about. One of the podcasters I listen to is pretty cute, and he has those dreaded "prey eyes". It's weird to picture him with square squinty eyes though - it just wouldn't work with his face.

Image/facepill: A skinny guy with a small frame that has a more masculine face and can grow a beard will be more attractive to women than a fit muscular man who cannot grow good facial hair and has a baby face. Why? 1)babyface without facial hair cannot be compensated with a masculine body - it looks incongruent 2) you can easily compensate for a skinny/small frame body by growing a beard/wearing fitted clothes/having a masculine face when you have clothes on. However, Side by side comparison without clothes the muscular guy with babyface and little facial hair looks far better.

The only solution for babyfaced no-facial hair ripped men is to be in environments where you are shirtless more. Nothing is more frustrating than the girl choosing a skinny framed guy just because his beard is “hawt”, then going home and complaining about how he could barely move her around In the bedroom and was too skinny.
