Still, that doesn’t mean they don’t care about it. But they do care about making access to love easier.

Men have basically always cared about love. What are you talking about? Half of music wouldn't be written if guys weren't pining over a woman. Literal shelves of novels and poetry from the ancient world to this day were written by men because they loved women or a particular woman with no financial leverage over them. Men barely receive platonic love. Men aren't the ones getting songs and books written over them. They aren't receiving flowers, chocolates, dinners, movies, and cruises to show how they're appreciated by the women in their lives. Do you know what they get? A fucking tie or some tools as if they don't work all fucking day for fathers day if they have a kid.

Men and women both want to be loved, and for the most part, always have.

Men feel comfortable telling women to lower their standards because it’s ruthlessly obvious what the end result will be of having unrealistic standards, as well as a delusional take on your own SMV.

It’s just basic math, if most women want the top tier guy, either they have to share them, or they will be unhappily married if they don’t work on adjusting their standards and focusing on other areas.

When confronted with this, women who are honest will list out their standards, and most of them are pre-qualifiers that don’t have much to do with who a person actually is, but that’s just the nature of dating between men and women.

Love is cool and all, but male preoccupation with both being loved and loving is pretty feminine. Which makes sense, given that society has undergone a gynocentric shift.

Focusing on results is much better.

Yeah there's some guys that just want sex, but so do women. There's a lot of guys that seek out love, actually want a girlfriend/wife (sex with a significant other that you love who loves you can't be beat), and are absolutely 100% just saying just give a person a shot if you think they might be alright vs they have to be 100% perfect off your immediate glance at them.

That 100% find on online dating? What if they get sick, lose their job, get cancer, etc. 100% isn't sustainable for anyone 24/7 375. Shit happens. We all breakdown and have issues. Hell, guys like Elon Musk are not 100%. He's successful, rich, I guess somewhat attractive, etc. Personality wise though? Men actually love deeper and have more significant emotions than women. Studies in infants show male infants cry more, respond more readily to painful stimuli, and get more upset when away from caregivers. Men (boys) since childhood are told to repress their emotions so we don't see that the more emotional sex is actually men. Men take much longer to get over a breakup than women, and many never do. Men want love and respect just as much, if not more than women.

You have it backwards - men lost financial leverage, because they started caring about love. Unfortunately, men weren't prepared for women to use men for something else besides their bank account.

I don't think we should go back to men having financial leverage over women, and I don't think women should lower their standards. I think their standards do need to be visible to men though, so that we can eradicate this myth of love that's been created, and men can stop caring about a woman's affection, and instead - start focusing on things that actually matter.

Men care about love to the extent that it is going to make a woman "nicer" towards him if they have a long-term relationship together. It's therefore in a man's interest if he intends to have a long-term relationship with one woman that they have loving feelings towards each other, as a woman having a pleasant personality is high on a man's priority list when it comes to relationships.
