The other day I made the assertion in another post that relationships where one person has nerdy interests the other person doesn't share are dreadfully boring. While I had plenty of people assuring me that there are in fact women who share nerdy interests, there were many who raced to defend the idea of a nerdy man dating someone who doesn't share their interests. They say that it's possible for people to appreciate each other for differing hobbies, but I find it hard to believe them. Why? Because people like the women in this thread from a few months ago exist: https://np.www.reddit.com/r/TwoHotTakes/comments/1gsj57c/i27f_screamed_at_my_husband_28m_over_his_hobbies/

The subreddit ADHD_Partners exists, a subreddit that seems to exist purely for people stuck in relationships with people with ADHD to air their dirty laundry about how much they despise their partners.

I fail to see how I could exist in a social media echosystem like this and ever believe anyone when they say "Don't worry, you don't have to share the same interestd, you can date someone who is neurotypical, these kind of relationships work all the time!" I simply don't believe you.
