If you're a guy, you should always offer to buy the plan B. Shelling out $50 now is a small price to pay when you consider the massive costs that come with child support down the line.

I’ve used it two times in my life. Both times condom broke. It costed 12 €, so it didn’t really give reason to have a whole “whose responsibility is it to pay for this?” conversation. If I remember correctly, I paid for the first time, and my husband paid the second time, but I could be wrong. If I used regular hormonal bc, it should be 50/50 I think.

Depends on the individual circumstances. If I lived somewhere Plan B had to be paid for and needed it, I'd just split it, as I assume most people in couples and many not in couples would do. It's possibly fairer for a man to pay for all of it if one pays for all (as he's not the one who has to take it and get very sick). But realistically it's more likely to be women covering all of it, as I'd recommend they do if they can't trust this man to deliver immediately (either half or full, although I guess she could try invoicing him after the fact). Especially with hookups men often don't care as they know women will buy it anyway if they don't.

The last time I took it was when I was dating my now husband and the condom split, we were both pretty drunk so I don’t think it had been out in very well.

Guy pays for the Plan B. However I dont remember it being 50 euros?! Also in my opinion even if the girl says is fine to have sex without a condom, the guy should still pay for some plan B. If the kid shows up after that you can be sure its not yours 😜

I've had 2 accidents in my life.

First one: the condom broke halfway during sex and neither of us realized until the end. It was our first time together too, so i knew it had to be handled really carefully. Pointed it out to her right away, I came inside her, we walked to the nearest CVS and I paid. Saw her chug it down with some Vitamin water and was relieved. I'm not saying it was because of how I handled it, but she has remained one of my longest running FwBs. Years later she told me she felt safe and secure with me and that I handled it without worry or panic.

Second time: a long sexual relationship, I couldn't hold back. She was cool as a cucumber. Took her to the pharmacy saw her down it with some diet coke and I treated her afterwards to KFC.

In my opinion, guy should pay. $40 insurance for a 100% chance I won't have to pay 18 years x $22,222 = $400k and have my life down the drain?

I'll pay that insurance ALL DAY EVERY TIME.

That’s what it’s called when you don’t use any protection, it’s called trying. As in trying to conceive a child. If you aren’t actively working to prevent it, then you are actively working to make a baby when you have unprotected sex. It should never be a surprise to anyone who has unprotected sex that they end up conceiving.

When I needed it (multiple times) I would buy it without saying anything and just give it to her, implying that there is a need for her to take it (esp if we were both drinking). Luckily I pick good women to sleep with so she would open it and take it in front of me without me even insinuating I wanted her to, probably because she understands it goes without saying that I would be worried about trap.

Anyone with any sense is willing to pay. And anyone with a desire to have sex with that person again will offer to assist in the obtaining of the plan B...whether by paying or picking it up or providing transport or whatever. It's the sort of thing that sets off alarm bells if the other person appears uninterested in being part of.

A lot of couples split the cost in my observation.

I personally paid for and keep several doses of it around even if I never need to use it. They are shelf-stable for something like four years, access to contraceptives has become increasingly more limited and difficult in the US, and even if I never need to use it, a woman or couple who know me might. I like to be prepared.

The...three times I've needed Plan B, I bought it myself. The first time I needed it in college, my bf had to drive me bc I didn't have a car on campus, but that was the end of his responsibility.

I dunno, I never felt the need to make my guy buy it. My body, my responsibility, that's my personal take. And thankfully I was never so broke that I couldn't afford it, maybe if money was crazy tight I would have asked him to buy it and I would've paid him back.
