I love the post bro. I think the reason for the lack of popularity with outer game posts is because a lot of the new guys are, for lack of a better word, neckbeards.

They have terrible inner game, they aren't confident, they hate themselves, or whatever. They need someone on the internet to tell em that they are the shit. It's really just simple supply and demand. They demand the positive encouragement that they are a man or how to become a man, and we supply it.

I think the other factor is that for some reason people hate this systematic way of approaching girls. I don't think they like taking "advantage" of a girl by using routines. Once again, I think this is due to the fact that we are getting an influx of new members and white knights. They are on their moral high horse, and for some reason these kind of posts get downvoted.

Regardless, good post.

Truth! This subreddit needs to be about different techniques and actual field tests with tangible results. We can give two shits whats going on inside of you, I wanna know how I can get inside of her.

It even says on the sidebar, if you are a beginner or have no inner game, GO TO /ASKSEDDIT!!!

This subreddit should be coaching and advice for certain techniques each one of us can actually use when talking to and picking up women! If your looking for a pep-talk, a circlejerk, or if you have a moral compass about the "right" way women should be treated, YOU ARE IN THE WRONG PLACE!!!

To be taken seriously in this subreddit, you NEED to master your inner game first. Find out who you truly are and face your weaknesses head on! This will only grow your confidence and yourself as a person.

It's like learning how to play a new sport: Learn the basics first, learn the rules, nail down the mentality. Once you have that down, then theirs room for improvement and then you can perform and learn like a first team player!

When you learn martial arts, the instructor doesn't just tell you to go in and fight! He teaches you technique. Game is exactly the same, yes practice is great, but if you don't even know the basics, get your head in the books, get a coach, or however you wanna learn. Credit to Arash for the analogy.

Well, one issue I have with the outer game, is the abundance of material out there, free or paid.

Which guru to follow? David Deangelo? Neil Strauss, Richard la Ruina, David Wygant, Ross Jeffries, etc etc etc etc etc etc...

And they all have so much, it's insane.

I bought the book from Neil Strauss, but even though it is entertaining, I won't be peacocking around at bars and clubs.

I bought the online book from David Wygant, get spammed to death everyday and was not drawn in the book to read on. Maybe it will appeal to me later.

Then I started seeing if there are any torrents out there, but, not much out there. I love reading the post of /throuwawayPUA. And he is not a self proclaimed guru (for the better!).

And the cockfights among the guru's and the false reviews they give each other. It's so...unnecessary.

The only guy I enjoy reading is ThrowawayPUA. I like books though.

I like this point. I think seddit, and the community in general, get wrapped up in discussions of natural game vs. stacking based game too much. Natural game is in vogue right now, so we get a lot of pumped up pep talks about how you have to be alpha and how awesome you are. As a result, posts like this get upvoted that emphasize that you have "no fucking chance" without confidence, and that everything relates back to confidence so if you're not confident never go outside.

I am however part of the kick back toward natural game. Opening lines stopped working for me when I got bored of the answers. Worrying about what "phase" I was in had me constantly consulting diagrams and not really being in the experience.

However, naturals make the mistake of throwing out all the theory with the routines, and the baby with the bath water. They're also so focused on not using anything from stack-based game, that they won't used canned teases or storytelling, even though that's what people naturally do. I've been reading a lot of Juggler lately and he uses canned teases all the time, but he also doesn't know what he's going to say on approach until he's right in front of her.

My point is what you call outer game I would call fundamentals. Things like body language and subcoms and theory and psychology that apply whether your a natural or routine guy. Yes, everyone needs to learn these, and the pep talks aren't going to do much until you know this stuff.

I could not agree more with what you are propagating for, my good man.

Indeed, while one must certainly not diminish the value of inner game (especially when dealing with AA and the like), one should not negate outer game, either. Even moreso, one could reason that outer game is more important than inner game (though the opposite can be reasonably argued, as well).

As pake123 accurately demonstrated, it is more than likely that the majority of people on Seddit are keyboard jockeys / neckbeards.

So how do we deal with that?

It's simple. We kill the - wait, wrong quote. Damn you, catchy memes!

But yeah, it's still very simple. We go out. We practice. We post FRs.

It doesn't matter how self-confident you feel you are when you are sitting in front of your bloody computer, rather than talking to this hot girl you saw on your way to the supermarket.

Do you see how absurd the situation is? Have people not ready Mystery's Venusian Art, or even Googled it? Has nobody put David Deangelo into practice? Did people stop reading Syle? Did they stop reading Adam Lyons?

Have those old, truly guru-level PUAs (with all the controversy that accompanies them) been forgotten to Seddit?

Every single PUA (and I use this word very loosely - what it means to be a PUA is an ongoing discussion on the mASF forum and will forever remain one) who has been successful (i.e. used PUA methods, mentalities, strategies, Jedi mind tricks and what have you to sleep with women and/or become a better self and thus sleep with women) will tell you one thing - get off of your bloody computer and go out. That is the one rule which nobody will ever dispute within any PUA community.

FUCK YA. Read my history on this sub-reddit, I've been very outspoken lately about the denegration of seddit and how they've traded in their pua dildos for inner feelings of warmth.

That being said, you'll never actually find what you're looking for, because of the demographic of reddit, and seddit in general. What you're specifically looking for is a more advanced circle. Those kind of things are rare on the internet these days (there used to be some great dedicated forums, but they too have fallen apart). Having a medium this large is a bit of a catch-22, for what you're looking for as well. It's large enough to get some really fantastic strategies and ideas, but it's so large that what you end up using could be so over-used by the time you use it, that it holds no value.

Most guys just aren't willing to put in the HARD WORK to get good at this art form. They don't want to memorize routines, learn the theory, internalize the structure, etc. etc.

Thus we have guys who come here, get motivational pep talks, then come back wondering why they're still struggling to OPEN a year later. It's a vicious cycle. It doesn't help that most PUA "gurus" today are internet marketing scammers and guys get pulled left and right with conflicting information.

My advice: Learn the foundation of the community. Mystery Method. Get that down, memorize the routines, internalize the structure and go OUT to practice. It WORKS but it needs time and dedication like anything of value in life.

Thank you for this. I am personally always working on my inner game everyday, not just for pickup, but for life. What I need more of is techniques and tactics. Simple concepts, and phrases I can manipulate under my creativity and situation to transform into my own, but i struggle because I dont know them.

I find this subreddit needs more techniques and examples in discussion and on the SIDE BAR. Who cares if its repetitive! Repetition is a key to mastery.

This is a great rant. Somebody posted a similarly awesome diatribe against 'natural' game some months ago. It got deleted because it was a verbatim copy of a post on a seduction forum. Natural game is in vogue because it's easy for gurus to sell. Tyler of RSD fame apparently once said that 'routines are so important' even though he now does almost exclusively inner game stuff. I think the best compromise is to come up with a mix of your own routines and canned stuff so that it comes across more genuinely.

I really have nothing to add except that I agree with this post completely. Whenever I see those inner game posts I think of the age-old shitty advice; "Just be yourself." Yea, at the end of the day that is what you want to do, but what is the best way of being yourself?

Inner game only really helps me execute my outer game well. If I had no outer game (especially when I started), I wouldn't be successful at all because I wouldn't know what the hell I am doing. Pure inner game can get you lucky if a girl is into you, but there is no way you are going to be consistent if you don't have any technique.

The points you mentioned were some of the main reasons I left this subreddit almost a year ago. Before then, I was quite active in commenting and posting, but I found my voice was a minority.

I've met a few mPUAs who referred to the problem as "inner game bullshit". It gives you the confidence boost with no real effort or risk on your part. You feel a sense of accomplishment, yet don't take any action.

It's easy for newbies to give this kind of advice because it's a simple solution to a complex issue. Doesn't require any real thought or analysis of the situation or problem at hand.

We shouldn't abandon the inner game principles, but should find a balance. If we do outer game correctly it should reinforce our inner game. With practice the techniques become second nature and we see patterns. These patterns become the inner game principles that guide us rather than the specific routines.

Really, what would benefit the community are posts that talk about the routines and techniques with reference to the broader concepts, theories, and principles that guide them. That way, we benefit from understanding why something worked the way it did.

TBH, I think the sidebar itself also needs a major overhaul. Someone qualified enough should write a more "metagame" sort of post. Outlining that you'll run into a lot of inner vs outer game debates, tons of videos that all seem good from Keys to the VIP to 21 convention to RSD to Simplepickup. Then all these direct vs indirect debates. Then all these rules like 3-second-rule, eye contact, no leaning in, always be closing, don't ask so much questions. Then maybe some will fall into an OCD-like binge of absorbing material: Mystery Method, Pook, Magic Bullet, David DeAngelo, Ross Jeffries, seduction ladder this and that.

Lot of great material out there, but it really depends on where you're at. If you've already had a girlfriend before, have a good social circle, you don't need that much help. If you have nothing at all whatsoever, then the solution doesn't really lie in seduction. You need to get a life. The inner game ra-ra talk is great. For a brief minute or two that you read it. The hype does NOT carry over. Your approach anxiety will remain the same unless you start getting some reference experiences.

Of course, before all that, they'll have to cope with all the language like AA, HB, LMR, AFC, ONS, F-CLOSE, before they can become a real "PUA".

There is no shortcut, and its hard to find a one size fits all. But I believe your post at least will turn newbies (myself included) into the right direction if they ever start reading this Seddit based on top posts :).

Just some thoughts about your post:

You're misunderstand this quote. Strategy would be inner game, tactics would be outer game. Here's an example:

"I'll set up a positive and confident frame." That's going to help you in any situation, although might take some time to achieve.
"I'll use kino/negging/compliance tests." Those things do work and all have their place, but they can be very situational. Also, how do you expect yourself to pull those off if you're not at all confident? If an AFC does kino, for example, it's going to feel really forced and uncomfortable for the girl.

Now let me ask you, which post is more helpful? The outer game one obviously.

You're very wrong with this assumption. Simply put, having inner game but no outer game is going to net you more success than having outer game but no inner game. See examples above to see why.

I do agree with you on the fact that we need more practical stuff, though not necessarily outer game related. In fact, practical ways of improving your inner game would be preferred.

We always hear "Improve your inner game and you will be a master PUA!" or "This is what your inner game should be like:" but never how to actually get to that level of confidence and not-giving-a-fuck.

Of course, if you have the inner game down, I can see why you're pissed about the lack of outer game content on this subreddit.

I don't see the problem... My beef is only with the [FR]s that don't really break anything down, and ignore the tactical application to strategy. Luckily, they don't usually see their way to the front page.

Edit - I do have another beef, and it again has to do with [FR]s. Often, a sedditor will be posting an [FR], and be vague about a certain step.

This step is usually verbalized as "...and then I began performing Kino on her" without explaining what type of Kino. It's my believe that Kino by far is one of the trickiest components of seduction. There wouldn't be all sorts of resources dedicated to it (see: Kino escalation ladder).

Touching is literally something that can be done infinite ways. A great deal of these are wrong and awkward, and a great deal of these are so right. When sedditors miss over these critical parts that demand attention to detail, I think one of several things:

Your [FR] is one giant lie.
Your [FR] is simply just you bragging about your exploits.

I realize that we all have our unique situations, and one man's kino opportunities will not always fit the next guy. However, for the anxious to apply these techniques, one needs to be able to put everything in context with real examples - otherwise, to the noob, it's all theory with no practice.

Inner game is the foundation for outer game. Outer game is like little tricks and tips. When you have strong inner game, outer game will come through naturally.

Nobody likes inner game material, because that material is inherently esoteric and subjective advice. People don't like it because it forces them to go out and actually get some experience. Sure, for the noobie, outer game material might be good "training wheels" to get the ball rolling. But, the end game is to develop strong inner game, because outer game and stuff like logistics handling will develop as a byproduct.

OP, you're example of good outer game can also be looked through an inner game lens. It wasn't simply Lyons saying "Trust me, it will be fine". Without strong inner game, he would never have pulled that off. The reason why that worked is because Lyons held the dominant frame or reality. The girl took on Lyons' frame. (This is also a good example of state transference, but we don't have to get into that). If Lyons didn't have good inner game, he wouldn't have been able to hold the stronger frame. If he didn't have the stronger frame, he would never have been able to convince her to come with him.

I'm not knocking on outer game material at all. That information is necessary. OP, it's easy for you to focus more on outer game since it already seems like you have a decent base of inner game. So you can understand, "oh, if I say or do certain things, it'll work". However, someone with piss-poor inner game can say or do the exact same things, but with no success because they have shit inner game.

Ultimately, OP is both right and wrong. Some people might be in a place where outer game material will help them out. Other people are in a place where inner game material will help them out. You can't knock out both. But, inner game is pretty much your end goal. Outer game is useless without inner game. Inner game doesn't need outer game to work.

Slight tangent:

Beating yourself up for not having anything to say? That requires your own internal paradigm to change. People have to realize that failure in general (not only in terms with women), isn't real failure as long as you learn from your mistakes. If you had strong inner game, the idea of beating yourself up for something so trivial wouldn't even enter your mind.

The fact is, seddit has a specific audience. That audience is the average redditor... or if we are lucky... the slightly above average redditor. I for one am bent on helping those who need it in this field, and those gentlemen do not need the specifics. They need to feel like they can do what they are trying to do. Honestly, for a lot of guys that's all that is needed.

I would love to see a good subreddit on the specifics of the game just as much as the next PUA here, but if we keep things in one general board, we are going to get posts on the general concepts that are most needed by that board's audience, because those are the posts that will get the most upvotes.

I think that when a lot of people first come to seddit, they need to develop inner-game, and after that period of confidence building and self-improvement, many people start doing their own thing, which is why outer-game gets less attention than some would prefer. They may not go from inner-game to more advanced techniques.

I would say that generally, inner-game posts are more useful to the average person not interested in the PUA scene but still intending to improve their success with women.

Outer-game posts are still really useful, but only to some of us. A great opener or strategy is not going to be applicable to a person still building up their inner-game, they don't have the balls to follow it up.

So, I understand your point, and I think I have a good idea of why you see more inner-game posts than outer-game posts, and I agree the latter is far more useful to a more focused seddit user, and less useful to the average guy just looking to be more confident and improve themselves.

I think this really has deeper roots in the divide between the PUA community and guys who are more into basic self-improvement, becoming healthier, smarter, more interesting versions of themselves.

No one wants to really delve into the "dark arts" as it were. I think everyone here is trying to have a nice face for the outside Reddit. Once you get away from /r/getmotivated style inner game niceties and routines, and into "manosphere" style shit (Roosh, Roissy, etc...), it gets more controversial. I doubt many would find it palatable, even if it is effective.

Inner-game and being able to pull without needing any tactics/routines/methods is the ultimate goal but to get there it is critical to make use of the 'training wheels'. I disagree completely, I think this subreddit's most valuable resources are found in help with your inner game. The worst thing a person to new to pick up can do is try to read up about "outer game" and what to do and say in any possible situation. The best way and only way to truly learn how to attract women is experience, and what newcomers need the most is the confidence to go out and get that experience, and the pep talks to get through the inevitable failures and learning curve. I do think that there is a lot of valuable advice about basic social norms and making yourself more attractive that newbies should read up on here, but after that I think "outer game" advice is pointless. To develop outer game you need to go OUT, not read post after post on seddit.

True seduction is not about memorizing routines and lines. They may work at times, but if you seduce a girl this way you have achieved nothing. All you've done is conned your way into a free orgasm. You may as well have just watched porn. You got laid, congrats, but when you wake up in the morning is anything really different? You are still hiding yourself behind routines that someone else made up because you don't believe you are good enough on your own.

True seduction happens when you put your true self out there and are able share a sexual connection with someone. You don't achieve this by memorizing lines, you achieve by improving your whole self physically and psychologically, and becoming comfortable and proud of who you are. In other words, inner game.

To sum it up, it's ALL about inner game. Outer game will develop naturally with experience, guaranteed. Inner game is the real challenge of seduction.
