This raises a critical point that underlies much of the frustration of many who are drawn to the so-called men's rights movement. It's the double standard that says it is entirely PC to bash men. Unwarranted criticism, outlandish misrepresentations, sweeping broad-brush negative stereotyping, and outright hated (sometimes masquerading as humor) that would never be tolerated if directed at women are all deemed by our cultural elites in the popular and news media (and in liberal arts college echo chambers) to be at least quasi-acceptable, and at times politically correct, when they are hurled at what is deemed to be the dominant cultural group, males.

Despite their supposed enlightenment, the cultural elites invariably side with what they deem to be the oppressed groups, including females, by smugly demonizing and reducing to satire the so-called dominant cultural group.

And when some members of the supposed dominant cultural group dare to suggest that, hey, it isn't as clear-cut as the cultural elites want to insist -- that its members largely are NOT dominant in many areas, that they are often more limited in their life choices than the purportedly oppressed group, and that sometimes they have been forced to carry burdens the other group hasn't -- they are met with irrational anger, over-the-top hysteria, bug-eyed derision, and David Futrelle.

EDIT: Of course the writer's comment was meant to be viewed as lighthearted -- supposed "truth" told through humor. It's acceptable to poke fun at "men" in this way. But have a guy write something similarly "lighthearted" about "women" and the far-left wackos at Man Boobz would be drawn to it the way flies are drawn to dog shit (which pretty much describes Man Boobz's appeal).
