When people (mostly men) express their grievances about not being able to get laid or find a relationship, they're often hit with the same remark.

"Are you actually trying?"

But, is this really good advice?

Do you think most men who get relationships genuinely tried?
Do you think your dad "tried" and treated dating like a full-time job with all the self-improvement nonsense that comes with it, or did he just happen to stumble across a girl he liked, fell in love, and the rest is history?

I just don't understand why some men are expected to put in so much effort and work to find a girl while other men basically meet women by accident and have as much if not more success.
