Being rejected is HARD- but especially when it's over something you have no control over. I think I may have been rejected by the guy I was interested in because of my age. I'm 34 and he is 33. He recently started dating a 25-year-old and posting tons of their couple selfies on social media. The 25 year-old he's dating is basically a younger, less accomplished version of me. Right down to the same job title, education, body type, personality, etc. She has less in common with him than I do.

When I briefly dated this guy, we really clicked! (never got to the point of intimacy) I initially had my concerns that he may be into younger women because he is a college professor/ I have lingering insecurities about age. (This is something I struggle with and I know it isn't fair to stereotype a guy based on his career!)

Anyways, how do you deal with rejection from someone you were really excited about? I'm already very involved in my favorite hobbies, eat healthy, perform self-care, etc. Still feeling super down, and I really need to find a way past this.

Edit: I want to thank all of you, kind internet strangers, for sharing your words of wisdom/advice! You have no idea how helpful each and every comment has been! As much as I try to have a strong heart and mind, I got knocked down pretty hard from this one. (Not the case with all rejections, just him). I don't talk about my dating life AT. ALL. in real life. Thank you!!
