Just recently learned about the Facebook page/group started by a group of women to basically compare notes on potential dates and check their not dating a guy already in a relationship. From what I can tell his photo and name is shared so other women are able to confirm whether they are/have dated this guy and any grievances about him.

Naturally, the male version was started not long after doing basically the same thing which grew in popularity and has opened the can of worms.

Sharing other people’s photos and personal details is unethical, end of.

However, if we were to put the unethical part aside couldn’t this be used as a helpful tool for both the genders?

Women and men would be able to check their not being played, and it would save a lot of time. Women could warn others if a guy is just going to use you for sex, If guys were worried a girl was lying about her body count they could just check if other guys had dated her. Warnings like, their secret alcoholic, their a mammas boy, she’s got 6 kids she doesn’t see could all be useful.

But it could also be useful for the person to see how others are interpreting them. Construction criticism if you will.

A good example we hear often about guys struggling to get dates, if we were to use this tool to see what his previous potential dates said about him, there would be a good chance he could gain some knowledge on what he’s doing wrong.

If dating (particularly in the early stages) is supposed to be a little like a job interview for a potential career (marriage) then surely sites like these are just your reviews
