There is always some mythical looksmatch who would’ve been happy with her, but not them, just some mythical guy you never see and never hear from who would’ve been happy with her.

This is a thing I always see in discussion of ugly women dating average guys or chads, the guys complaining don’t want her, but they want her to date some other dude who ugly, the ugly dude is never even there and never seen or heard from, and obviously not them because they don’t want her, and she has to go look for that retarded motherfucker otherwise she’s the birch for finding someone who like her.

Redpillers will say that all women are attracted by the same type of men.

But check what gay men and gay women do.

Gay men are literally attracted usually to one type of men. Some are into bears. Some are into twinks. Some are into femboys, etc.

Lowkey why do men almost never get any attention on rateme subs or any looks related subs while women are swarmed in it? Could this be an example of how women may actually be more physically attractive than men? (assuming both the man and the woman are on the same boat in this regard)

Ik it is a bit hypocritical of me to say this. Buuut, I generally only comment on women's posts either to clean up some things, to give aesthetic advice, or the woman is either a model or obviously below average.

Also with my time on TRM, I found that attractive women are even less likely than attractive men to need the internet to know they're attractive (even though they generally both wouldn't need the internet)

Men seem to want mass market appeal never realizing that nothing has mass market appeal.

There's multiple fast food burger places because people want different things.

Pepsi vs Coke because people want different things. Chocolate vs vanilla because people want different things.

But some men refuse to understand that and instead try and "looksmax" so that they can appeal to all women.

They constantly waste their own time by doing everything for women. They do nothing for themselves. And that just reinforces their desperation, which is a huge turnoff.

Point is, stop trying for mass market appeal. Niche down, have standards, and focus on finding women you actually like.

Straight men go to the gym to try and improve their attractiveness because it’s a simple repetitive task that they can understand how to do.

Being stylish and dressing well would improve their attractiveness more, but that takes a level of cultural knowledge and artistic flair that most of them are just not capable of.

I made a thread on another subreddit asking how poly men handle the power gap of the woman having a much easier time finding new men to sleep with in an open relationship, especially when you're an average to below average looking guy like me. I made the post out of genuine curiousity, but I noticed how many posters vehemently denied that looking average or below as a man lowers your chances of finding women, which brought me back to PPD. The replies proved that "men's looks matter" is still a controversial and strongly contested statement in spaces outside the pill sphere, although many PPD posters, mostly women, nowadays insist that it isn't. Some quotes playing down men's attractiveness from the thread:

You keep focusing on looks but that’s more often than not an excuse.[...]Be fun and interesting, have confidence and a sense of humor, and show that you are decent and well mannered, and you’ll do all right.

That's a joke right? Women have to put on makeup, do their hair, etc. I just wake up and go out the door.

Take care of yourself, have a life and personality outside of wanting to fuck, and treat women like they're actually people and not just some kind of prize or conquest. That is literally all it takes. There's no way to say this without sounding like bragging, but I'm pretty mid in the looks department myself and yet have never had any trouble whatsoever in dating or hooking up, mostly with women significantly hotter than myself to the point where it's confusing to people who don't know me well lol

I'm an overweight guy in his 30's who doesn't look particularly attractive who gets opportunities very regularly because i'm chatty/nice/social.

But it really matters less than you think. I'm an average white guy, balding enough that I have shave my head, not fat but definitely not ripped and currently fighting to get a small gut off. In my experience, mentally healthy women put a lot more weight on a guy's personality, empathy, and genuineness vs physical looks. The later isn't nothing, but it's not the biggest thing either.

And it's usually not a lack of equipment or looks, but attitude. Attitude reaching from being just dumb about it to being pushy and manipulative to committing assault.

My current partner is objectively less attractive than me, but all my friends think he’s hot/such a catch because he’s awesome and has so much going for him as a person.

All of my connections have been made in person at events held by a local poly group in my city. I personally think I'm aggressively average in physical attractiveness, but others have told/shown me they disagree. I also am a good conversationalist and a great listener; those qualities have attracted women like moths to a flame, if I'm being honest

Looks and personality are 50/50 for me. No amount of good personality can make a woman attractive to me if I don’t find her attractive on the outside. But even if she is a 10/10 and has a bad personality, I wouldn’t be able to deal with that either.
