OP is more or less correct. I live in a culture where men are actually pursued by women (East Asia), and the men are extremely picky.

I've never asked a woman out in my life and have developed an extremely picky, standoffish attitude, inadvertently as a result. I've had unattractive women randomly attack me by saying that "I think no one is good enough." And I sort of emphasize with women like this.

So I can see how this is a thing.

As a man, during casual sex, you have almost a 95+% chance of orgasm, 0% of getting pregnant, and a much lower chance of the woman physically harming you or raping you. And on top of that, you have a statistically higher libido and probably a primary sexual attraction based on visuals.

So even if men were bombarded with sexual offers from women the way women are from men, they would be a bit more picky in sex, but probably not as picky as women.

Well you can, but probably not for the reason you think, and it has to do with how women experience regret

Women getting ONS'd and regretting it is not correlated with a reduced incidence of future low fidelity encounters.

In fact I think it's easier to observe the opposite. In other words the easiest way to predict low-zero fidelity relationships from (probably both genders tbh, but for different reasons) women is incidence and subsequent frequency of low fidelity relationships in the past.

That being said, on a global scale it's easier to say women experience regret in a more mentally and physically healthy way, but WHEN men DO experience regret it's generally a better indicator that he is less likely to repeat that specific action. (But on the other side of that coin men are hard wired to engage in more risk taking behavior, so not a necessarily a bad thing)

So what does this mean?

Women are more likely to fuck around, find out, then continue to fuck around in the same way.

Men are more likely to fuck around, find out and find a different way to fuck around.

The problem with casual sex for women is it kindof has that nicotine addiction effect, where it's easy to not start but it's one of the most mentally difficult things in the world to get someone who doesn't truly have a strong internal motivation to quit to quit even if they truly regret it. Now you're habituated, and your friends probably live the same kindof lifestyle, and the media says it's ok, and feminism says it's ok, and the opposite of free love is Sharia law, so it's very easy to lose sight of where the benefit ends and where the mental addiction/sunk cost fallacy begins.

The reason I think it's ok to blame people like this is the same reason I think it's ok to blame smokers who wind up with lung cancer. You wanted it. It made you feel cool and validated and whatever else in the beginning. You fucked around, probably found out relatively quickly and kept going anyway.

All that being said this post is pretty clearly flamebaiting, and I have exactly enough faith in humanity to understand most women do think sex is special and don't intentionally objectify themselves (and in a sortof ironic way, men... not that many who get the 'green light' right away would complain).
