Women will always have more options. That's just how dating works.

That being said if men have less options for even getting through the door they also have less options for relationships. The argument that men have higher standards for relationships is therefore irrelevant because you are still only eligible for the women who would let you fuck either way. It's less options in total.

Women are more picky due to how humans have evolved. We see it take different forms but the concept is the same. Most men would fuck most women. Most women would not fuck most men.

They are picky because pregnancy, reproduction and safety was a big concern. And just because we evolved very quickly over the last 300 years doesn’t mean those biological drives and mating strategies have gone away. They just manifest themselves different. Think of it like windows getting an update, it changes a few thing but true source code is still the same and can revert back under certain conditions.

I think all the stats showing that male virginity lasts longer, male loneliness is more severe and longer lasting, etc... dissuade from the view. If women weren't more choosey, there wouldn't be those kinds of numbers. Maybe there is some other explanation, but that is the one that seems most obvious and fitting.

To me, tbh, most of this boils down to the gender dynamic, initiator/receiver. Women think they have more options than men, because they get this influx of suitors, so they act, foolishly, choosing between them only the 'most desirable', whatever that so happens to mean to them.

This is the 'tyrone and chad' problem.

Dudes of course have the whole field of women to approach, this just doesn't really seem to cross the choosy woman's mind tho. I can always approach someone else, there a lot more options out there for the initiator than the receiver. If they don't jump at the approach, their loss, and their mistake in thinking that they ought be so choosey bout it.

As a man who has bartended in party bars and nightclubs for almost 2 decades, and witnessed hundreds of thousands of people, trying to hook up with each other in three different US states, and seven different nations, this could not be further from the truth!

This reads like someone who doesn’t have any experience in the matter.

However, I will admit that there are certain environments where this is somewhat true.

As an example, when I bartended in Saint Petersburg, Florida, and when I visited the Ozarks famous ‘party cove’ on a vacation once, or…… when I went to Mexico for spring break…… yes, it was true that women were just hooking up with everything that moved like a bunch of sex crazed demon-whores.

Something to keep in mind: even as I list a few examples that are an exception to the rule, all of this was pre-kardashian-era. Meaning, western women had not yet become obsessed with wealth and status, height, and narcissism.

In Florida, the girls were so outrageously trashy that they ultimately didn’t seem to have the ability to say no to a hook up. But it wasn’t about their standards. It was about them being outrageously trashy. It was the culture of the place. The same goes for Santa Barbara, CA, except all of the trashy whores in Santa Barbara are rich college girls, so yes, they hook up constantly, but only with men who are good looking with money.

In the Ozarks party cove, and spring break in Mexico, yes, it’s true that girls were hooking up with damn near anything that had two legs, two arms, and a dick, but it was still an extreme exception to the rule on the basis that: in both places, the girls were specifically there looking for short term hook ups, and lots of it! So, like a bunch of sex crazed men, they would drop their standards as a way to just get some dick for the night. Also, they were unable to be judgmental about men’s status, looks, or money, because it was a sea of men who were not fat, running around shirtless, all of which looked exactly like each other, and what you did for a living or how much money you had, or which family you came from, was not up for discussion. It was as simple as “hey, want to rub genitals together??”

But make no mistake: as soon as those girls left the ozark party cove, or Cancun, they went right back home, where it was all about a man’s money, looks, and status—or at least the best versions of what they had access to. Like I said, most of this was pre-Kardashian era. But I still bartend in hookup venues, and women’s standards have become severely outrageous. Every night I have to hear ugly, overweight women, talking about how they won’t even entertain a man unless he’s wearing an AP or a Patek.

Women have two standards:

Reality standard (what they can get in real life).

Some women are more outgoing and adventurous, so even if they appear as a 5, they have enough courage to pursue men who are 8. But these women comprise only about 20%. They are mostly found at bars, clubs, etc. (If any man feels insulted for his looks, he probably encountered one of these women).

If she's loud, dominant, outgoing and bold she's in this category.

When men say "slut", they mean this kind of woman who chases men like a dog.

Some of these women's hopes are shattered when they fail to secure commitment by the time they reach 30.

Many people misunderstand what happens at 30. If you look around, a woman who is 30 doesn't appear significantly older than a 25-year-old. So why 30?

Women typically date older men. Men become wiser with age, making it harder to lead them on, as they care less and put in less effort.

Men 30+ don't look for friends, they know what all they got in 20s, they know how attractive they are and what market has given them so far. So no woman can convince them they are more than what he experienced in his 20s. You can't fool such a man.

By the time a man is 30+, he already understands how women operate. He has no illusions of "love" and can't be fooled by it like younger men. At 30, something crucial happens: men who used to simp for women or pay for dates start to disappear. Now they demand effort and become better at reading signals. They know that if a woman isn't showing enthusiasm, she's not into them. Thus, as women get older, leading men on becomes more difficult. The difficulty level rises, and women start looking for a provider type ("betabuck") to settle down with. Of course, they can still go on Tinder and attract men, but those men may not offer material benefits, effort, etc. (Material benefits stop, and the "wall" is reached.)

The wall is real, and the way to escape it is by being wealthy or having exceptional genetics that allow a woman to pass off as much younger.

If she's shy, reserved, and have less confidence she's in this category:

Then there's the other 80% of women who also have some high dream standards but settle for the best they can find at the moment. They don't actively chase handsome men, but they do desire them in their minds. However, they also understand that if a man truly wanted them, he would have made advances. They are not shameless enough to pursue a man on their own because they desire a respectful, proper relationship, not one gained by baiting men with "sex" which is pretty bad strategy in West, as most men will fuck and leave and she will left with emotional damage, high risk of STD etc..

However, they might consider an upgrade when something better comes along.

This is the reason for cheating, divorces, etc. So yes, women can simultaneously have high and low standards.

However, this dynamic doesn't necessarily make it stable or better for males because "it's just your turn, she's not yours," and AWALT (All Women Are Like That) principles apply.

Some women will come here and say "ohh men do same". 80% men will never upgrade their girlfriend for hotter or sexier woman and reason is:

Men look for fulfilment in other pursuits like career, sport, or some art/craft. Men have base level of sexual and emotional needs and it doesn't take a Hollywood actress to fulfill it. These are men with strong family values, they demand commitment pretty early and won't waste time on women who just want casual sex and fun. But women are typically scared of these guys because of their single minded focus on marriage/kids make them appear like "baby trap".

90% women's pursuit is "Relationships". They've no focus or goals outside of it. So which one is more likely to upgrade? Ofc women.

There are 20% men, for who a woman will never be enough and they must put their dick in every woman they come across. As these men are easy going, more experienced at sex, more into dirty sex. Women find these better and easy going but these men don't put efforts, disappear when push comes to shove, refuse commitment, will not save her if her house is on fire etc...

How much of a good partner she is can easily be found out by seeing how much respect, admiration and love she has for her father. If she's looking to escape her family, bro you are fucked - sooner or later down the line you'll be framed as her abusive family as well.

A woman who cannot put her past together with her present, cannot ensure better future. She will look for escape each time things become difficult. If you want to stay with 1 woman for life, better look for a woman with a dad who she respects, who stays in touch with her.

Women are fickle minded. One moment she might love you, another moment it can turn into Hate. This is why you need to convince her whole family, who will be on your side when she's not seeing you favourably. Smart men will try to woe her father, her mother, her sister and get them on his side. This sort of diplomacy and tactical thinking is needed to keep a woman for life.

A lot of men do have odd qualities, though, and this turns off women. Men aren’t really bothered by odd qualities in women when it comes to choosing to have sex with them and most are only picky when it comes to extremely poor looks in this regard. So in comparison to men, women definitely are picky. Men with no obvious flaws are obviously not going to relate to the men who do have some.

I think both genders are equally picky when it comes to choosing a partner for a relationship, emphasis on relationship. Women look for much more than looks in a relationship partner, whereas many men are looks focused whether it’s for a relationship or a hook up. Women are pickier when it comes to just sex and I think it’s because they can be. If a woman just wants to have sex she generally could walk out the door and find multiple men to have it with, no matter her looks.

If I look around me the guys with hottest girlfriends are all wealthy guys.

But it's also possible their woman is hot because she has money and stressfree life to stay hot.

You wouldn't believe it but money can make a lot of average girls "hot and glamorous". It's little bit difficult for men because male beauty standard requires things that are harder to fake like clavicle width, molar width resulting in wider dental arch, slanting forehead etc...

Average woman can become very attractive, working out 3 times a week, eating clean, staying relatively lean at 20%. And getting some cosmetic procedures (ofc she's gonna need money for it)

You wouldn't expect a truckdriver's girlfriend to get all fancy haircuts, microblading and fillers, she may not have money or inclination for it.

I've seen some very handsome plumbers or manual laborers with average looking woman who has a desk job.

And most average guys have a woman on similar level of looks.

In fact most women men have women who look slightly worse than them on average.

This is amplified when I actually go into Western countries I find it's rare to see a better looking woman with less than better looking man.

Money or wealth or fame is only thing which significantly changes difference in attractiveness of partner around me.
