People in this and other similar subs get way too hung up on how 'people are wired'. Not all men only care about sex, not all women only care about status/money.

Making a woman laugh and being charming will get zippers moving from better women than money. Being funny, warm, and having 'big dick energy' (confidence) is worth more than roll of cash to a lot of women. Being kind, appreciative, giving compliments, and taking care is worth more to better man than a smaller dress size.

Let the gold diggers and man-whores have each other. Don't waste your time being envious of what they have, it's not as valuable as it appears.

What would be more productive would be if you stop thinking of people in binary ways, and start treating each person as an individual with their own needs, motivations, and desires. If you get to know a woman, and you see that her primary motivation is financial, then behave accordingly. Do most women prefer their men to be the primary breadwinners? Sure, statistically that may be true, but you're not dating a statistic. You're dating the woman right in front of you, so why not figure out what she's looking for in you, and you in her. If there's no match, then you simply move on.

If your mindset is all women want is money, and all men want is sex, then why date at all? Just hire prostitutes. That way, everyone involved has their expectations met. You get sex. She gets money. But you don't do that, because you know there are things in a relationship that are important aside from sex for you, and money for her. And those things are different for every individual.

Yes, men want mostly sex from women they don’t really want to commit to and women mostly want money from men they don’t really want to have sex with, in order to consider it.

When we are talking about actual, loving committed relationships though, where both people actually dig each other: yes, men still want some sex and women still want to feel safe and provided for to some degree, but neither of those in the same intensity and there are many other things that matter too.

Of course, these are generalizations and there are variations depending on the individual. That’s why you can see many women complain on r/deadbedrooms about how their SO doesn’t fuck them, or you see some relationships where the primary breadwinner is the woman.

What you're looking for is a friendship. Friendships with women are free; they'll "interact with you as a person". Hell, some of my friends are incredibly loyal and helpful.

But to be considered as a potential mate, she needs to see you as a success symbol, unless you have incredible looks, which is why attraction for women is triggered by your display of value, which includes money, fame, confidence etc.

Absolutely not. People want to believe money attracts women instead of looks, because you can get rich, but you can't grow taller or better looking.

Sex is a biological imperative. Women love and need sex to survive, as do men. A partner of superior genetic quality is infinitely more valuable than resources and will always trump them.

Don't spend money on women. If they're attracted to you, they'll put out for you. If not, showering then with cash and gifts isn't gonna help.

The evolutionary benefit would be to maintain those additional resources being provided by the male. Remove all the societal and modern day bs, and the male wouldn't stick around to help raise the kid or help the pregnant female. He wouldn't care about one offspring when he could be making another or already have 8 or more other kids out there. By giving him sex when she's pregnant, the female would have a better chance of keeping the male around. However, in todays world, thx to all the rules out there protecting women, such as child support, marriage, alimony, and the socialized norm of monogamy, women don't feel the urge to do that or have a lot of sex after marriage cause by then the resources they wanted from the male has been secured.

This hits hard for me because I've always refrained from spending money on girls with the mindset that I'm not her wallet and if she wants me to commit to her then she needs to interact with me as a person and not as a vending machine that outputs money when sex is inserted. But if what I'm sharing is true, then it's possible that I've been totally misunderstanding the game at play here and that making her pay for her half whenever possible is counterproductive.

So what do y'all think?

Notice rich musician, male or female always have a bunch of female groupies with them? Money and status attracts females, but does little for males. There are tons of rich playboys who spend their days surrounded by women. But not a lot of rich females who are surrounded by men. Those rich females are usually surrounded by females too. A women might think it's hot that a guy is a doctor, but as a guy you wouldn't give two shits about a girl being a doctor when it came to dating as it comes with status and money. You'd care if she's hot and actually into you as person. Her career and status mean next to nothing. And even if you take the money away, girls still want status. Think back to hs with all the freshman girls dating upperclass men. That dating up (hypergamy) thing persist through all of life. If a women is interested in you, it's likely because you have something she doesn't have or you have something she does have, but you just have a lot more of it. At the end of the day, it's always about what you can do for her, rarely is it ever she just genuinely likes you for you no matter what.

This makes very little sense as most of my friend group and coworkers who are with men all make more money than the men they are with or married to.

More women than ever before are earning more than men and are graduating university at higher numbers than men are.

Most of the women I grew up with from highschool and college, as well as the ones I know from work, they all are high earning women because we've all been told that depending on a man for financial stability isn't entirely possible nor is it unanimously the healthy choice.

Remember: before the 1970s women were not able to get credit cards or get a loan. It was also difficult for women to find work and labor laws did not favor women at that time. This is why expensive jewelry was at one time a big thing for women -- it was a life jacket for a woman if she had an emergency like her husband died/beat her/left her/etc where she would otherwise find herself alone and without any money, she could trade it in and get the funds. This is now a tradition that still exists in more traditional-conservative heterosexual aesthetics, but it comes from a very practical and stark reality that these tradcon millennial women don't really care to acknowledge.

This is old school mindset.

Women love sex as much as men. They are just a lot more shallow and selective about who they want it with. They find very few men sexually desirable. Women dont expect any money from men they're truly attracted to and will fuck them for free.

The reason most men need to be bring value / utility in other ways is because their sexual attractiveness is not enough. Money and status is just a way men overcome their lack of true desirability. Hot broke men get laid all the time and women are even willing to help them out.

Some men and some women definitely think this way. Personally as ling a certain money treshold is met (the men has a job and is able to support himself) sex becomes way more important than money. Money is a huge part, mainly for your self esteem. Knowing you can pay your bills and not end up in the streets or something. A person without money is unavailable even if thats not the intention. A worried, anxious, stressed, sad person. Women pick on those vibes and are gone. I was that person for years while doing college. It was the worst phase of my life.

No. Even if some women want that they are the exception and pinning some biology theories around it makes even less sense. People need to stop doin that - making up biological reasons with zero evidence.

Of course you want someone who is successful because you don't want to carry dead weight. Where I live the pay gap is one of the smallest and all women work. Apart from a few very messed up gogo dancers I met, we just want a stabile guy. My boyfriend had no job and was pretty lost when I met him and fell in love but we're great now.

I don't think there can ever a blanket statement that will ring true to ALL of any particular gender. In my relationship, I make far more than my partner does and can comfortably support both of us if need me. If he told me he wanted to quit what he was doing to pursue X career or go back to school to get into X career, I would be fully supportive.

What made me fall for him is how he makes me laugh more than anyone I've ever met and why I love him is because he's intelligent, kind, and I can talk with him about anything. I enjoy being around him more than I enjoy being by myself, which is not a sentiment I ever thought I would feel. He makes everything more interesting and fun simply by being a part of it. I absolutely adore who he is as a person. The fact that he's hot is merely a very delicious bonus on top of an already wonderful cake.

Ultimately, what fits for one person might not be for someone else. Different people are going to care about different things.

It really depends where you live and the cultural expectations of your area. That being said, in my experience, women need long term security, they dont need to be spoiled in the early parts of dating. Women who don't demand anything from you except loyalty at the beginning, often end up being the "death til you part" types long term.

Yep. If a woman can’t get a beta spending she may as well just bang the alpha guy because thats the next best bet for survival of her kids. I think whoever said that was on to something. I mean it can’t be absolute because women need sex and men need money but men used to be confident and comfortable in leveraging their assets and now it’s all about “equality”. Well there’s no actual equality when it comes to sex but we can reach equilibrium. Exchanging resources for a mate is a solid strategy for men, and note I said mate because sex is cheap. What truly benefits a man is having a woman that only sleeps with him casual sex is certainly better than no sex but its not better than a faithful wife no where even close. Just like for a woman banging an attractive man who won’t invest his resources is better than banging a beta or omega who won’t invest resources but getting full investment from the beta is ultimately the best bet.
