Basically this scrote is unable to read a woman's personality traits (kindness, intelligence, extraversion/introversion, etc.) unless the woman literally spells it out for him.

This is so the opposite of my experience in life. In my experience, women tend to have varied interests and hobbies and not make one hobby into their entire identity. The things we enjoy do say a lot about us as a person, not because they shape who we are, but because who we are shapes our interests.

Men, on the other hand? 50% of men consider gaming to be an actual personality? No thanks.

I guess if a hobby isn’t shooting guns, watching porn, or playing 4+ hours daily of video games (but only the exact type he likes) then it’s just a stupid women’s hobby.
I like how all sewing, everything in the kitchen, and all crafts = worthless. And no alternatives given for what activities would be more acceptable either. If he’s looking for women with specific hobbies he likes, he needs to go look in the scene of those specific hobbies. Like, odds are you’re not going to organically stumble upon a woman who’s super into motocross or skeetshooting, unless you specifically go to those type of events.

So something interesting jumped out at me about this whole thing. In everyday life, normal people build relationships organically by asking about hobbies and interests. With the dreaded small talk (horrors!). With enough time and chemistry, two people naturally progress beyond that and start sharing deeper, more intimate things. But that’s not something normal people do right off the bat. There’s been lots of people in my life I might have thought were a bit boring if you’re only looking at surface-level hobbies, but then I get to know them and they are great.

I find it very telling (and alarming) that he’s basically, in a round about way, wanting to skip past all that normal relationship building and get straight to the vulnerable deep levels without earning it. That supposed “no personality” is stage 1, and he wants to jump to stage 100. He wants to dig his claws in right away and force it prematurely. This reads as a massive red flag to me. He might be completely socially retarded as other ladies have pointed out but he could also have more sinister motives.

Edit: this is the “deep” guy that’s going to bombard you with his emotional problems and want you to tell him yours, which he will then use as ammo against you.

For the longest while, I could only really tell others that I am a writer and I love stories. I had a hard time phrasing things about my life, but that was a big part of who I am and always have been. Gamer is a second one. These are two pieces that define me because stories themselves captivated a lot of my time.

Who can honestly sit there and say, "well, I am a huge grump in the morning but after I wake up, I'm kind and considerate, but never spontaneous."? Just inauthentic and kind of boring, really. So, default to hobbies and things we like to spend time on is an easier topic and makes for more fluid conversations.

Also, before anyone says anything, being a gamer in toxic gaming culture is not something I would have picked for myself knowing what I know now about it. Luckily, I know many men and women who are adults and don't put people down looking to disappear in another world for a while.

I could rebuttal using 'gaming' as a personality, too, since a lot of men like to use that to define themselves. Just because you pour 500 hours into your MMORPG every month, doesn't mean you have a personality. It just means you have no concept on how to manage your life/hobbies in a healthy way. See: The other 90% of male gamers that I know.

There are so many problems with this that I don't even know where to start.

First of all, a lot of people define themselves by their hobbies. For every woman who says "I like baking" there's a man who says "I like watching football." So I don't really get his point in that regard.
Someone saying "I like [insert hobby here]" doesn't mean they're saying "This hobby literally defines my entire personality and I have no personality traits." They're just trying to have a fucking conversation like a normal human being. What weird ass dates does this guy have where he's just expecting women to list their personality traits like it's a job interview? Normal human conversations don't go like "My friends would describe me as fun, caring, warm, interested in volunteering etc. What are YOUR personality traits?" That's a really robotic and strange way of getting to know a date.
Males think women have no personality not because there's anything wrong with us but because 99% of males (especially this guy) are misogynists and because they only see us as sexual objects they're incapable of seeing us as full human beings with personalities.
