anyone ever experience this? I feel like every other date I've been on legit some doouchy smug guy will feel the need to take every hobby i mention and grill me on it. for example ill mention something like I like to read and then instead of being like "oh me too! what kind of books do you like" and it turning into a casual relaxed conversation, ill get grilled..like "what's the name of the last three books you read, your favorite book of all time, who was the author, what was the meaning of the plot". and then when I can't answer such specific questions on the spot the guy gets all smug and just asks more questions to watch me squirm or weed me out for being stupid or a liar in their mind, idk.

like even though I like to read hell if I remember off the top of my head the answer to some of these questions. even with music or movies if someone asked me my favorite song or movie of all time I'd struggle to think of it on the spot unless it came up in conversation or something reminded me of it.

also if I was on a date with a guy and I asked him something and didn't seem like he could remember id try and remind him or have a conversation not like grill him more on the topic.

what is with this behavior? I feel like there's an aggressive way they are asking these questions that make it so uncomfortable.
