I was very surprised when I learned it’s so common in the states regardless of religion. I’m from the UK though and we have FGM occurring here too but it’s odd one is normalised 🤔

Uncut, and never in my 29 years, it ever had any problem. Use a soap, and all clean. Much much better than suffering a lifetime of lost pleasure sensation. Also if someone doesn't like it because it doesn't "look nicer", they can get lost.

So grateful to my parents for not permanently altering my future sexual pleasure. I struggled with phimosis during my teenage years and had to teach myself how to stretch it out. I even contemplated getting cut because the stretching was so slow and painful. But once it was fully stretched my oh my what a wonderful decision to keep it.

One of the worst arguments from feminists saying that FGM is worse than MGM is because "it removes an entire organ, whilst circumcision doesn't"

But an organ is a functional unity of tissues in a body that constitutes a structural unity and performs a determined function. And what foreskin is? A functional part, composed of tissues, that performs a determined function.

(Skin also falls under this, so skin can also be considered as an organ, however, nobody thinks that being skinned is better than FGM [though I imagine there are people that would agree with that notion]).

So, removing foreskin, and often not just that, but also the frenulum, is removing / mutilating an organ.

Also, they should check those definitions too, since both definitions imply that the removal doesn't have to be total, it can be partial:

If I have a son I will never allow him to be circumcized unless it's medical reason (I had to be cut because I developed phimosis when I was around 9 or 10). I still wonder if maybe there could've been alternatives to surgery, but what happened happened.

I am circumcised when i was ten for religious reasons and i pretty much remember how my dick was feeling back then. I used to play with my dick when i was young. It caused a huge trauma for me and the amount of sensation loss drives me mad. I hate it there is nothing i can do about it. I can say i lost so much. And again, there is nothing to get it back. People don't understand me, why it makes me so upset. My therapist once said i am being so selfish that my parents did what they think is best for their child and i am whining about it. I am completely done really.

I think it's wrong to circumcise boys; it's genital mutilation and the intention is irrelevant given there is no consent. That being said, this is false equivalency; female 'circumcision' is far more damaging to girls than removing the foreskin is for boys.

They're not even the same thing. The majority of the men/boys in my family are cut. Nobody remembers what happened to them when they were babies. I don't know a single man who's crying over being cut. This is similar to people who freak out over baby ear piercing. If I had a son, he will definitely be circumcised.
