It's funny how my gf and I are the two extreme when it comes to work.

I'm the guy who stopped giving a shit about homework at 12 and always put absolute minimum effort into everything school related. Dropped out of college and became a NEET for roughly 5 years from 18 to 23. Went back to school at 23, got an easy 3 years degree and now still putting minimum effort in my job, working 10 hours a week.

My gf on the other hand was first of her class throughout her whole schooling, putting a ton of effort into studying. She went to med school and had good grades, but dropped out due to depression and extreme social isolation. She went back to school like me and also got a 3 years degree and now she's working minimum 60 hours a week. Her life is basically work and spending time with me, that's litteraly it.

So yeah, we're litteraly polar opposite when it comes to work. I go above and beyond to put as little effort as possible into my job and my gf puts a ridiculous (and totally unnecessary if I may add, but she would never agree with me) amout of effort into her job. Idk I find it interesting and also I'm bored at work so...

When I started being interested in the dating market and gender dynamics a couple years ago, the statistic (in my country) that completely blew my mind was that 74.1% of men aged 18-24 have never in a relationship (56% for women) and that this statistic only drop down to 25.8% for men aged 25-34 (14.4% for women).

I legit couldn't believe the number would be that low at the times. Even today it's hard for me to wrap my head around it.

My masculine colleague is back to asking me to go to the restaurant with him during lunch once a week. He is in his "return to the gym" arc so he's eating somewhat healthy so we're going to the japanese today. At first I was kinda annoyed because I was supposed to eat my weekly pizza, but my gf treated me pizza yesterday for dinner so it's all good.

Anyone else think that the daily chat should be on-topic only? There are way too many people using it like a personal blog.

Posting new threads is pretty much useless with all of the arbitrary rules, strict filter, major relevant topics that are quarantined into weekly threads that get almost no engagement, and long gaps where the mods apparently don't let any new posts through. The daily chat seems like the only useful place to have an actual discussion but it's flooded with "dear diary" bullshit.

Scrap the weekly threads and let the daily thread be on-topic discussions only with no banned subjects.

Two thoughts:

1) I wish we can make a rule, no more than 5 top level comments in the daily thread per day, enforceable by ban.

2) I wonder if all that toxic positivity that women spew at each other actually makes them feel worse in the long run. Like if a woman is lonely and longing for a relationship, and she expresses it in public, then all of a sudden psychotic internet women jump on her with bs validation like "you don't need a man, never settle, just be happily single"... like yeah she feels validated in the moment but then returns back to feeling lonely again.

Two thoughts. Guys saying don't ask for consent and just go for it are either inexperienced with women, socially inept, or strike out a lot and think their successes are indicative of something greater than they are. There are also lots of ways to ask for consent that isn't "would you like to participate in a sex with me?" Anyways, the reaching for her hand and guiding it onto my pants thing never worked as well as verbally getting some kind of consent. You can be playful about it too, it can still be sexy. I find a lot of women have liked the fact I would ask them what they're into which they say a lot of guys don't and will try things they don't like and ruin the mood.

Second is that I think it is immoral of women to profit off of selling men a fantasy that doesn't really exist. like 18 year old OF models saying they have a thing for older men is encouraging these older men to lean into behaviors that will not only make women they pursue uncomfortable, will not only humiliate and embarrass the men, but will also send them deeper into feelings of depression and insecurity.
