It's funny how my gf and I are the two extreme when it comes to work.

I'm the guy who stopped giving a shit about homework at 12 and always put absolute minimum effort into everything school related. Dropped out of college and became a NEET for roughly 5 years from 18 to 23. Went back to school at 23, got an easy 3 years degree and now still putting minimum effort in my job, working 10 hours a week.

My gf on the other hand was first of her class throughout her whole schooling, putting a ton of effort into studying. She went to med school and had good grades, but dropped out due to depression and extreme social isolation. She went back to school like me and also got a 3 years degree and now she's working minimum 60 hours a week. Her life is basically work and spending time with me, that's litteraly it.

So yeah, we're litteraly polar opposite when it comes to work. I go above and beyond to put as little effort as possible into my job and my gf puts a ridiculous (and totally unnecessary if I may add, but she would never agree with me) amout of effort into her job. Idk I find it interesting and also I'm bored at work so...

Am I wrong for going for the ‘arm candy’ girlfriend?

I’m a 29 year old male and have struggled at dating my entire life save for some relationships that made sure I was not a virgin before college.

Despite being middle class in upbringing I have made $400k/yr on average working <20 hours a week since age 21 working remotely for a very very famous tech company. This company does so much for me outside of pay too such as letting me visit all the foreign offices using just my employee badge. I can visit foreign countries up to 3 months of the year which is fine for me I prefer living in the US.

In the middle class neighborhood where I’m from it’s taboo to have a wife who doesn’t have education and doesn’t have a job. In my case, finding anyone who has the flexibility and future upside I do is nearly impossible so why not just have a girlfriend who can depend on my income and in exchange be able to live and travel with me everywhere? I make more than enough to live well in the Us and all that free time is dangerous if not put to use - I do have hobbies but never meet any girls there who can be as flexible as me in the long term.

I can also just hop to a nightclub or use dating apps to find such girls, I’m tired of being single while having all the freedom in the world and no one to enjoy it with in a consistent basis.

and with the whole emotional tampon thing, i wonder how much of that comes down to how men/women bond and experience friendship differently. iirc women are much more likely to bond with each other via discussing emotions and relating about shared experiences compared to men. this is why women are surprised when men have years long friendships with other guys that they seem to know only superficially.

now i’m not saying that male/female friendships are better or worse. i think men and women can simply value different things in friendships, which can lead some to believe that male/female friendships are “useless”

When I started being interested in the dating market and gender dynamics a couple years ago, the statistic (in my country) that completely blew my mind was that 74.1% of men aged 18-24 have never in a relationship (56% for women) and that this statistic only drop down to 25.8% for men aged 25-34 (14.4% for women).

I legit couldn't believe the number would be that low at the times. Even today it's hard for me to wrap my head around it.

I feel bored all the time and nothing is fun. I just generally dislike people. I imagine a lot of you are normies or at the very least aspiring normies. Do you not see how terrible people are?

I'll give you an example. My mom was living in a government subsidized apartment for 30 years, then a new property manager bought the apartment and turned it into a slum. They threatened my mom with eviction over unpaid rent which she had proof of paying but they didn't withdraw the court claim until the day before hearing. We moved her into a new building for older people and I she has a home health aid that comes over. The aid had covid and the people in the office of the new building told her to just wear a mask and not to tell my mom. The aid thankfully did tell my mom, but we think she ended up getting fired because she did the right thing and was transparent about the fact that she was contagious.

There are so many instances of people just being absolutely shitty and downright rotten. I don't see the point in complaining about it or trying to get sympathy though because this is just how people are. I absolutely despise people and I don't think there is anything wrong with deceiving them or using them.

This is what feminists don't get about the appeal of movies like American Psycho or Fight Club. I'm not saying these are the greatest works of cinema or literature or whatever, but the thing is in a callous and hostile world, you benefit from being deceptive and calculated. It is no suprise these movies appeal to young men. They realize they're satirical and ironic, but in this parlor trick world, your life has to become a satire in itself.

Not only do I think people are awful, I think people are unintelligent and lack self awareness. This is worse because it means their awfulness is in their nature. I have always been more self aware than other people. I subscribe heavily to the whole "all the worlds a stage" mentality. We are all performing when interacting with each other.

I am livid. I am a scattered ADHD mess and I was pacing all around, I went to have the rest of my cherry juice that was sitting on the counter, but thought I saw a hair in it so I pulled it away as I was moving it towards my lips and it caused it to splash onto my new heather grey hoodie. I took it off and put it on an end table and was squeezing lemon juice on it to get the stain out, but the lemon juice was stinging my cuticles and running down my arm and the combination of that and seeing the cherry stain as a symbol of how much of an unkempt slob I am flew me into a rage and I threw the lemon and starting punching the hoodie on the table until the table broke. I haven't had an anger episode like that in a while, but it's crazy how quick it can just come on. Now my stomach hurts and I feel nervous from my blood pressure shooting up because I already have high blood pressure. Why the hell do I have to be like this. I'm really making an effort to look nicer and more put together, but it is inevitable that I will just look poor and disgusting.

Im one of the rare nice ones tho.” The more appropriate reaction is “live and learn.” Or something like that.

Two thoughts. Guys saying don't ask for consent and just go for it are either inexperienced with women, socially inept, or strike out a lot and think their successes are indicative of something greater than they are. There are also lots of ways to ask for consent that isn't "would you like to participate in a sex with me?" Anyways, the reaching for her hand and guiding it onto my pants thing never worked as well as verbally getting some kind of consent. You can be playful about it too, it can still be sexy.
