DISCLACIMER: Written from a male perspective

From a young age, roughly 13, you begin to be interested in girls as more than just friends.

When this happens, it means your sex drive just turned on. For young boys, it's rough.

There is no way to satisfy that sex drive. At that age, you can't really find a sexual partner.

So what does a young boy do? Start watching porn.

For a very long time, years, your brain is connecting porn to sexual arousal, during puberty (the most important time in development).

You start watching it more frequently. You get addicted to it, and maybe even watch it multiple times a day.

This isn't good. You're getting rid of your sexual tension through masturbation.

While this solves the problem on paper, in reality it solves nothing more than temporary frustrations.

You see, when you get in highschool (15-18) you usually start to date aswell. Both boys and girls are interested in relations, and you have opportunities.

The problem is, if you're struggling to have any sexual relations with a girl, you will simply be able to supplement it by watching porn. Sure, it might not be as good as actual sex, but in your head, it's similar.

I know this from experience. I wanted to be loved and appreciated, but I couldn't get a gf.

But the biggest problem was my sex drive. Since it is high, I wanted action I couldn't get. So I supplemented it with masturbation. Twice a day.

And the love I was missing, I replaced by time-killers like drawing, gaming and gym going.

But, as soon as I got a gf. This changed. I realized porn was NOTHING compared to real sex. I couldn't even watch it after realising how fake and bad it was. So I stopped.

I noticed my erection quality and longevity astronomically rise. From going less hard (almost limp) in 10 minutes, to being rock hard, for hours.

I couldn't even finish sometimes (during my porn watching days) while having sex.

Other issues with porn are watching stuff you're not even interested in. Something that isn't even your sexuality, or weird fetishes you don't really have, but can develop with a long enough porn addiction. To the point where you can't get off unless you're watching something extreme, since that normal stuff bored you. I'm going to be brutally honest, and say I watched a bunch of stuff I would NEVER do/participate in IRL.

So, in the end, porn is only a cope. For those who can't get sex normally. But this only prolongs this issue, doesn't solve it.
