I’m personally at the point where I (26) shamelessly am willing to go for 18 year olds. The dating market out here is really tough for young men, especially ones who aren’t yet very successful or fit (working on both, but it’s a long term process). I’m basically at the point where I just take what I can get. If the demographic of woman who’s most receptive to me is 18-20 college girls, that’s who I’ll go for.

Sometimes there are things in life that are so important to your happiness and purpose, that you got to just learn to stop giving a fuck about what society thinks, and embrace the embarrassment or social repercussions that might come your way. And for me, having companionship is one of those things essential enough to me to say “fuck you society, I’d rather be with this (legal aged) girl you perceive to be too young for me than be alone.”

It’s a real bs double standard. Girls are told their whole life it’s ok to be into older dudes because they are more mature than the dudes their age, but it’s almost a cancellable statement to tell dudes it’s ok to be into younger girls because they are less mature than girls their age. If the 26 year old girls all want the 29-34 year old guys with careers, houses, and 6 packs, why can’t the 26 year old guys want the 18-23 girls who also don’t have their shit together, and are also inexperienced romantically, and hence are on a more level mental ground?

I was discussing this with a friend recently, and we came to the conclusion that it’s almost impossible for guys 23-29 to date with much success unless they are way ahead of the curve in career and fitness. We aren’t yet develop enough for the girls our age who want a house, kids, and stability, but we are relentlessly shamed for going for younger girls who just want a fun dude to spend time with while they try to get their shit together. It’s a sickening age to be, the mid 20s suck. However, we also came to the conclusion that once you hit around 30 (or whatever age you truly get all that shit together), you start to really swim in options and be able to attract a quality partner. The 20s are to the sacrifice we have to make to for 30 year old us to have a high SMV.

Long Term it's pretty bad, they are an adult hopefully (make sure they don't lie about their age, I know some girls that do so 19 is a better bet it's more likely they don't make themselves older than 18), so you don't do anything wrong but they still change a lot in a quick time while you are hopefully more in tune who you are. So the relationship can go rather bad really quickly you also don't have much in common in live besides Hobbys maybe even thens he spends probably more time on them than you. So any long term relationship has a lot of extra bagged not to mention overprotective family and friends who may think you are taking advantage.

Short term again as long as she didn't lie about her age, there is nothing wrong with it. You will become a nice memory to her and what she wants in a later partner maybe and you have a nice girl that has a lot of energy keeping you younger and having fun in the best case. There are hurdles like overprotective friends and family even more so if it's casual I would argue.

Lastly you should irregardless of type of relationship be conscious about the fact you hold the power in this relationship, don't flaunt your money too much, don't be overly involved in her choices unless she especially asks you for help etc. Just make sure you don't take advantage of her by accident and everything's fine.

Here is what you need to understand. There are laws in place that decide who can hook up, date, have sex, etc & as long as you follow those laws, legally, you are safe.

Beyond that, there are other factors that you might call moral, or intellectual, or something else, depending on what your reasoning is. While me, being almost 50 years old, can legally sleep with or date an 18 year old college girl, there are certain factors that we look at socially, psychologically, morally, etc.

The biggest 2 concerns are any power dynamic, situations like a boss dating an employee is a power imbalance between the 2 people, whatever their gender or ages. Most people can understand that as an issue, the less powerful person could lose their job, or gain more pay through these imbalance, depending on the details.

Many of us would like more men to see that there are power imbalances in age, wisdom, experience, etc when an older man dates a much younger woman. Its easier for an older man to manipulate & take advantage of a younger woman. If your intentions are openly honest & genuine, you're better off, meaning if you just want sex partners, as long as you make that very clear from the start, you're less likely to have trouble.

Still, one of the issues is that you CAN be open & honest about that but a younger person doesn't have the wisdom & experience to necessarily grasp those dynamics in the same way, so you could state your intent, she could give consent & she could still end up having more intense feelings for you & you would still be somewhat responsible for that because you knowingly dipped into a younger level of person.

Social media is not a factor really. If you act like a predator & get called out & it goes public in some way, frankly you deserve it. But if you're doing your best to make sure everyone involved is aware, informed & consenting, you're fine. There are young women who are ready to explore their sexuality, & that's fine for them & fine for you. And mistakes & misunderstandings can always happen but you just do your best to use your understanding to treat people with kindness & compassion & you'll be fine.

You have to have a thick skin in this sort of situation. People will judge you and there is just no way around that. And if you end up dating, she will face judgment too. People will try to convince her that she's a victim of abuse, even if she was 100% into you and pursued the relationship from day 1. Heck, even if she was the one who approached you.

And lots of girls will bring up the age gap as a shit test. Often, so will her friends. You'll need to learn how to judge when she's just testing you, and when she actually legitimately views it as an issue for you to talk to her. And that's a sort of seat of your pants thing you learn with experience. Most girls will initially seem hesitant. Some of those hesitant girls will think it's completely out of the question, and the others are just worried about social norms but don't mind it personally. They can be hard to tell apart at first but it becomes more obvious the further along the interaction gets. There will also be some girls, though these are less common, who are either immediately hostile to your attempts to flirt. Or who are absolutely into it because they fetishize older men. These combined make up maybe 20%.

One issue with large age gaps is difference in life stage. It's not impossible to navigate, plenty of people do it. But it can be ackward when one of you wants to live the student lifestyle while the other is trying to be a professional. It'll often take compromise on both your parts.

Age is just a number once you're an adult. However some gaps are still looked at as inappropriate. I dated a girl who was 19 when I was 28/29, just over 9 year difference. Although almost everyone seemed ok with it there were a few who didn't like it. Especially her dad. My take on it is if they're mature enough and you both have feelings for each other give it a shot. However I can honestly say in my experience there usually comes a time in a young ladies life when she wants to go out and have fun, experience the world for herself. This certainly happened to me and ultimately ruined our relationship in the end.

That's the biggest issue in my opinion. Young people no matter how mature they act seem to always reach a point where they don't want to be held down in any real relationship. They wanna go out, be crazy make mistakes, make memories, do dumb shit, have a one night stand or whatever they feel they need to do to have a fulfilled youth. I feel like life is to short to worry to much what others thinks. If you live your life always worried what other think or trying to please others or do as others want you to do then you're litrally living their life and not your own. Do what makes you happy. Just know nothing is ever certain except change. Be free, be you, worry about your own happiness, the best motto you can live by imo is "fuck em".

Personally I wouldn’t because I need someone with the same mental maturity as me, dating someone 10 years younger would feel like I’m babysitting them. I rarely take advice from anyone in their 20s.
