Most profile are low quality, most convos are low-quality.

I agree that quite some women are as well low quality too.

But I met some women who were on OLD since some times (months or years), some of them using several apps, and some of them were great persons with very special stories. In the end I didn't date any of them but it was great to meet them.

We all know this, most women get a LOT of attention from men on a daily baisis OFFLINE.

You know, as a woman who has consistently hovered around 'average' (sometimes a bit above, sometimes a bit below) this isn't true and for a long time I thought something was wrong with me because I didn't have a lot of those experiences that women talk about (being cat called, having men just come up and talk to me, random dudes asking for my number, etc). While these things were usually framed as a negative ('Oh men, just can't stop harassing me, they're terrible!') I was a little angry that I wasn't getting the attention that every other woman seemed to be complaining about. I think men vastly overestimate the amount of attention the average woman gets in her day to day life.

Otherwise, I generally agree, especially when we're talking about the 'lifers' on OLD.

your bs presumptions aside, have you actually talked to what a woman runs through on dating apps? their selection process is already quite picky and still, creeps, weirdos and unsolicited dick pics find their way between the cracks. That’s also not to mention the amount of guys who lie their way to a quick lay (or at least try to) - that’s also not to mention that the majority of users on these apps are men to begin with, most women have either dipped their toes in it or don’t use it at all

This is exactly why I’ve never understood why so many people (especially here on PPD) swear that OLD has changed everything.

It really hasn’t.

Most attractive or HV women don’t spend a lot of time on those apps. Most of the women I’ve dated or been friends with have only dipped their toes in that water and almost all of them complain what a dumpster fire those apps are. It’s mostly thirsty men, and even if they’re attractive, there’s usually a tell tale marker as to why they’re not pulling women IRL instead.

People who actually go outside, touch grass and date around don’t rely on those apps, especially attractive women. A few dates, maybe. But dating (as I’ve witnessed in California) usually stems from social gatherings and/or mutual acquaintance interactions.

Those apps are made for short term fuckin and that’s about it, which men desire far more than most women.

If anything, Instagram and other social platforms have changed things. But even with those, outside the thirst trap chicks, it’s still reconnecting with old coworkers, mutual acquaintances and other connected people (not strangers) that lead to a lot of relationships.

I don't know but as a shy person, I totally get why people go to Online Dating. I feel being introverted is NO WAY a "low quality" trait. I prefer quiet and reserved, over loud and extroverted. They're probably less likely to cheat, isn't that a good thing?

Or else you're perfectly happy with what you've got and just wanted to hire temp workers anyway. Not many jobs are like this, and they get way more applicants than places.

As a decent woman you get thousands of options from dating apps. If you can't manage to get one man, something is wrong with you either :

-You can't keep a man

-Your selection process sucks

-You ask too much and bring to little

-You are looking for a man that doesn't not exist

she wants the dating app for boredom mainly but sometimes goes on it
she loves sex and doesn't necessarily search for a LTR but is open to it
she is only recently good looking because she lost a lot of weight or somehow other wise self improved
she's super smart and realizes she'll have a ton of options on the dating apps and is on them bc she wants to date "up" or across, and knows looks aren't enough (necessary but insufficient) so she goes on dates with many good looking guys but wants a good looking guy who also fits her personality and knows it'll be easier on the apps due to the ratio

Or any number of other reasons

I've only seriously dated 1 woman off apps and it was the first bullet in my list. She was 1wk out of a 4yr LTR. She had only had sex with him ever! Totally not what you typically think of in terms of hot girls on online dating. And we had a 1yr ltr that ran its course due to personality differences but are still cordial to this day.

My other two serious LTR came from meeting at a bar and re connecting with an elementary school friend via IG. But I don't knock OLD. It works if you're good at it and don't get discouraged.

Well.. and if you're attractive. Since that's the first thing ppl see on the apps

Females on OLD for an extended period of time are extremely low quality. They either actually prefer the variety of hooking up with random strangers, their sex addiction clouding judgement. Or, they're continually failing at securing a relationship because they aim too high (at players with options), and can't distinguish temporary sexual attention from true romantic interest. Thus getting pump and dumped, over and over and over.

Either way, these trashy females are accumulating enough Exes and emotional baggage that any decent man would stay away, far away. They've chosen a life of objectification over anything meaningful, sadly.

BINGO. Vegan childfree men are like needles in a haystack. I recently started talking to one of those non existing guys from Canada here on Reddit. Issue is I'm from Norway. Plenty of men probably don't want kids here but the meat eating is so ingrained in the Norwegian culture that finding a vegan guy here is almost impossible. I think most people are of low quality. They just don't care for self-improvement.

Maybe I'm weird. Maybe it's because I'm single far more often than I not, so I feel I can't be complacent, but I believe in trying to be the best version of you that you can be. That means trying to remain fit, eating reasonably healthy, limiting how much you drink (or not drinking at all), being self-aware and recognizing your flaws, thinking about how you treat people, working on being an empathetic person, not allowing yourself to be someone who just sits around and watches TV or plays video games all day, picking up hobbies.

I don't hold myself to impossible standards or anything, but I do make an effort to, well, impress myself. When I scroll through bios of women I see a lot of women who look like they're content with being overweight, using crappy filters to try to make themselves look prettier, talking about how they love to watch trash TV and drink wine instead of trying to pick up some hobbies and be more well-rounded people. I've no doubt if I were looking at men's profiles, it would be quite similar.

For those of us who do make an effort, it's a shame, because we're sifting through chaff trying to find other people like us.

If that's true its the same for men on dating apps and there are far more men on there than women. Its possible true that the best of the best people get snapped up young at university or elsewhere irl and stay in relationships i.e. Young, attractive, high functioning people with the life and relationship skills and he mental / emotional stability to make a relationship work. They are attracted to similar people and they havingthe wherewithal to know a good thing when they see it and stick together long term / marry. Everyone else is probably damaged in some way, they have commitment issues, crappy relationship skills or serious personality defects. If you are resorting to dating apps at 25 you are probably a low tier individual nobody sane and healthy would want.

I wouldn't say most women are low quality, just the high quality ones used online dating apps from 16-18 and immediately got into good relationships and stayed in those good relationships ever since.

If you miss the early window as a dude, too bad.

Maybe there are some women that are great and that aren't in relationships but from personal experience, that doesn't happen. A woman involuntarily not in a relationship is legit a unicorn. knowing quite a few women from like 16-30y, only one of them was not in a relationship and found a guy a few weeks before her 31st.
