I'm gonna talk as if the video is real, cuz referring to it as fake all the time messes with the writing. The commenters assumed it is real, and I'll use their assumption.

With that out of the way:

- Some men do regard cheating (when the girl is hot enough) as sport.

- The girl in the video was vain about it, and people like showing vain people they're "not all that".

- If the guy cheated with such a hot girl, probably the post girl dated out of her league (therefore hypergamous?)

I wouldn't be one of the guys commenting there, but I'd be like "yeah, it happens" to myself.

And men are not nice about women's looks - if a girl is unattractive she's overlooked.

There'll be no hackles, just indifference from most.

A lot of people who have been cheated on think that the world is going to give them some free pass and a big hug. It won't. I encourage people to not shout it from the rafters that they were cheated on because they just might get a response like with this OP example. For the most part, people only care when they or their close loved one is getting cheated on. It's fair game when it's someone else.

It’s hard to overstate the quantity of fake content out there that is created by Russian or other bots that is simply to shock and divide people. Your reaction to supposedly men’s nasty comments and the upvotes is probably the entire point of this fake post.

Anyway The Russian spam bots started up again with the Ukraine war. You can tell them because the comments are just way over the top cringe and lacking any nuance.

It really contradicted the narrative I see being pushed on this subreddit that men are nicer about appearance and are not hypergamous ( many men on Twitter and tiktok were basically excusing cheating if the other girl is hotter).

Studies show that it's (liberal) women who think the most that it's okay when a woman cheats on a husband. Men and conservative women see cheating more as wrong. (Damn that was a bad summary of the article. Please read it yourself)

I think the reaction to the post was more due to the implied superiority of the girl who was cheated on compared to the girl he cheated with. Men just tried to give her a reality check to her implied statement of "look, why would he cheat with such an ugly b!tch, he is so stupid". No, she is actually more attractive than you and you should be a little more humble and not talk shit about her, since it's your boyfriend who did something wrong, not her.

Well it turns out the video ended up being fake, both the woman in the video had the pictures stolen by a bot account who made this weird video and don’t know each other.

c'mon, you can put it together...

The internet can be ruthless but I was surprised by the thousands of comments by men I saw calling her mid and basically implying she deserved to be cheated on because the other girl is hotter. These comments were highly upvoted too.
