Women aren't here to make dating appealing (generally) to anyone, neither are men here to make dating appealing to women as a whole, only specifically as a collaborative effort with someone they choose and someone who chooses them. You only owe trying to make dating appealing to the person you're dating and it shouldn't be all on you, both you and your partner should try to make things fun.

Plenty of guys enjoy dating single moms because a) they are single dads b) they like that the woman has her own place on the weekends or half the time when the kid(s) are at dad's and they can have date night in peace, plus if they are a guy who likes kids but isn't sure they ever want them, they get to do some things interacting with the kid while the mom is there (doing arts and crafts, throwing a frisbee, bike rides) and often the kid is well past the temper tantrum/diapers/screaming all night stage.

I do like when men come here to say they don’t like their options (in this case, “single mothers with multiple kids”) and don’t find it appealing to date from amongst those options, but at the same time state that those same unappealing women should be “appreciative” of chances with men they don’t like.

If you aren’t interested in any of your options, and don’t think there are ways to meaningfully improve those options to something you actually would be happy with, then don’t date. That’s fine! That’s what those women who turn down men they aren’t interested in are doing. You can definitely do the same.

It isn't the job of women to make dating appealing for men. Nor is it the job of men to make it appealing to women. And if I have to be honest, neither sex is making it appealing to the other. There's plenty of women who make it seem like women are shallow, boring and expect to be treated like a princess just for existing. There's also plenty of men who make it seem like men are shallow, boring and expect to be treated like princes just for existing.

But there's also plenty of people who are living their lives, having fun, meeting people and they find people that they find appealing and that they are appealing to. But that works on the individual level. ''Men'' as a whole aren't appealing to me, certain individual men are.

Also - you don't find a group of women appealing at all, but they should be grateful and find you appealing? Why? You think they have little to offer and that they're below average. Has it crossed your mind that they don't think you're much of a catch? Why should they be grateful for your attention?

First of all, I’m sorry about your situation. But holy shit OP. I’m gonna piggy back off of other comments and say that it doesn’t make sense to regard somebody as an option, and at the same time say they are beneath you, which is what men on this sub are guilty of.

If you are taking on a responsibility associated with dating a single mother, a fat woman, or a broke woman it implies that for you the deal is worth it. You wouldn’t sit your butthole on an uncomfortable chair, would you. Wanting appreciation is of course healthy, but if someone doesn’t grant it, it makes more sense to turn around and walk away. If you are sticking around while not receiving the appreciation, the sex, the time you say you deserve, then in spite of your monologue, the deal and the woman are worth sticking around for. De facto. Implying that your option is not worth the effort while putting in the effort to obtain the option is oxymoronic.

Single moms have options. I know hockey players who rather willingly date single moms. Men that themselves sleep around more seem to be more open to women with a past and might instead be bothered by a woman who doesn't as that might mean that she expects a lot from him. Some might not want kids themselves and see single moms as a good dating material.

There are still good women in your late 20’s/30’s. You just aren’t looking in the right places. Older women are actually harder to date from my prospective. Most people aren’t playing games and want to settle down. They aren’t having care free relationships just because.

If you’re having the same results and little change, maybe you aren’t trying hard enough. Try to find ways to put yourself out there more.

It depends greatly on how unattractive we’re talking about. I’ve seen incels uploading their photos and a lot of them are average/above average, so at least in some cases it isn’t really their appearance that stops them. But to give a god advice one has to actually know you, have some time spent with you in real life. I could easily pinpoint reasons for dating struggles of some men I know in real life if they asked, I doubt anyone can do the same just from one’s posts or comments. If it isn’t something extreme, of course.

Having said that, I’d guess that dating is a struggle for both heavily below average men and women and neither party really makes it any easier for the other nor it’s really their goal to do so.

It’s because in the West things are drastically skewed in favour of women. Personally I understand it and it doesn’t bother me on a moral level or anything. But, I do find it kind of funny how generally speaking, women here will tell you “too bad, git gud”, but then when a man dates a foreign woman or goes to a foreign country where they’re more desirable, everyone calls them names and tries to shame them.

I’ve had far better success with dating immigrant women than born and raised Canadians. A lot of men have the same or similar experience, especially with East Asian cultures. It’s because foreign women tend to compare western men to their original options back home, where our comparative wealth and status make us more attractive (especially if the woman is a recent immigrant and has yet to fully realize the true extent of her options and value here).

It sounds exploitative but, welcome to life. It’s just as exploitative for a cute blonde American girl to exclusively date wealthy men because she has high value and many options. Become the big fish in the little pond.

It is frustrating that people assume a certain amount of experience by a certain age.

My parents were very overprotective and I went to community college while living at home.I was focused on academics in my late teens and early twenties plus I did the gifted kid to mental break down thing.

Do you have experience with making friends of either sex? I haven’t made new friends in almost two decades so all of my friend making skills are pre-smart phone. I hate texting people when I could just call them.

If you want to go the sex worker route there are some that will teach relationship skills. Same with sex therapists.

Yeah man I've got a masters degree in a scientific field and a job straight out of national geographic (helicopter flights and adventures in the mountains/arctic), I've traveled all of the world. I make good money, and I'm fit as fuck and have a decent face. But, I'm short, so none of that matters. I'm occasionally able to get laid by lowering my standards considerably, but I want a woman who I really connect with. Problem is, all the smart, adventurous outdoorsy women can get a guy who is 6 ft 2, not 5 ft 6 like me.

Fuck it, adventures in the mountains are way better than trying to attract people who disregard you for one trait. Who needs a girlfriend when your project has helicopter support and polar bears keep trying to come into your camp? More interesting life than settling down anyway. A more lonely one, but still.

People are happy to argue that there's "systemic racism" but then they ignore or deny that we now have "systemic inceldom" in our society. Equitable distribution of pair-bonds is lopsided and continuing to break down. I don't see this trend reversing either. Society will have to figure out a way to deal with the long-term consequences, which I guess is little more than replacing the native population with a foreign population that has a more equitable distribution of pair-bonds.
