I like makeup on men. I also love when they have their nails done, not specifically long or designer, maybe a black gel polish or something like that? Jewels like rings and earrings look extremely hot too. About bald men with wigs, if we’re going to date I’d want the man to at least let me know that he used a wig, but I won’t mind it.

Women like a man who is effortlessly good looking. When a man tries to enhance his appearance in anyway other then gym and decent dressing can seem a bit fruity which is a turn off.

With that said I wear soles that increase my height by 1-2 inches aswell as tinted moisturizer and some very light concealer on blemishes and under the eyes if I'm going on a night out. No one can tell and it definitely helps.

But I'd never overdue it like adding 3+ inches to my height or caking on makeup. The instant they can tell its a ick.

Tattoo sleeves I would be put off by because I like actual tattoos on men and it will never look the same imo. Muscle suit is also going to look weird and I dislike huge bulk anyways.

Makeup and eyebrows? Hell yeah. I don’t know why more men don’t a least learn to use a little concealer. Simple application to dark circles and blemishes looks very natural if you’re using the right product. I’ve taught several guys along the way how to level up their looks and it always yields pretty good results. Especially if he gets into skincare with you,you’ll both be glowing like gods together out in public.

Come on, let's not pretend that women put on make up because they, all, decided they like to. It's social conditioning.

That was back in the day (when "men were men"). And women liked it.

If 1000 women scattered around USA started going out without makeup, in their office jobs, boardrooms, clubs... they would be looked down. There's no reason to pretend humans aren't like this. Take some people in a room, have three start laughing for no reason and the rest will follow. Have men wear makeup across the board and women would like it.

It's not all that in the hands of women, it's a social expectation.

As a man, I hate seeing naked men. I hate being naked around men. If men started walking around naked, I'll just follow suit - or rather my brain would.

Depends on the woman. Anything that just makes you look better in a way most people can appreciate and isn't noticeable like makeup or a wig is going to look good to them, but they might not like finding out it exists, the same as many men who "don't like women who wear makeup". Something like muscle suits or tattoos will be more polarising. You won't be seen as feminine if nobody actually knows you've done that thing, and tbh I think that being seen as feminine in general is more of an excuse for men not to put effort into their appearance than an actual problem.

Personally, I'm not too into certain looks like muscles or tattoos and prefer partners who don't spend too much time on their upkeep (I don't either and think it's a waste of time), but I can certainly see how things that take more time can make men look better and doing something like wearing a wig, getting your eyebrows done or certain piercings could be a positive.

There's a difference between clear modifications to someones outward appearance and simple surface changes like makeup/wigs/lenses, at least to me. Makeup makes me look prettier, it doesn't make me look like a different person.

It depends on the woman. I would be off put by a man wearing makeup because I don’t wear make up myself and tend to not have much in common with people who spend a lot of time on make up. This is in general and not a definitely not deal breaker. Just at a very surface level first impression wearing makeup implies spending a lot of time on one’s aesthetic which isn’t a thing I’m into. It also depends on the context. Somebody wearing makeup in an air conditioned office or at an indoor restaurant is way less off putting than someone wearing makeup at a manual labor job, to go hiking on a summer day, or to the gym. I like practicality and wearing makeup in a situation it is impractical for is a red flag to me.

I'm a woman and I've always kinda liked make up on men. Emo boys with eyeliner was always my thing as a tween. I am attracted to a spectrum of men from feminine cat boys to masculine dudes. My man probably leans more to masculine but he has some more feminine features.

I do not see the issue at all with men wearing make up. You can make many looks look very natural and thus it just gives the appearance of better skin, thicker brows and a more sculpted face.

Men peacocking more (heels, platforms, heat styling their hair and make up) may actually become to more long term solution to equalizing with women in dating in a more and more progressive society - as opposed to the strong-arming domineering "masculinity" that PUAs try to push.

All actors are wearing make up. I know many men that use concealers for acne. Men grow beards to cover a bad jawline or wear hates to cover balding. Some guys wear lifts in their shoes. Men also wear coloured contacts and hair pieces. Different people are going to have different feelings about it, but let's not pretend that it's not already happened.

As much as I like feminine men, I wouldn't like it if my FWB started wearing cosmetics or got tattoos.

On average, at best they would feel neutral about it and at worst they would be slightly to moderately repulsed.

Society is still conditioned to see male make up as feminine. This is changing though slowly with the younger generation of men increasingly embracing nail polish, for instance.

And to have a productive conversation on this topic, we can’t lump the male enhancements into one broad category.

Wearing a wig for baldness is leagues different than wearing makeup for instance.

Uhh, I like tattoo sleeves. Edit: I just found out this means fake tattoos. So no. Yuck. Feels like stolen valor or something. Not into it. I like real tattoos that tell a real story.

Muscle suits, no (I ain't wearing lady suits so) I'd find this one laughable.

Wigs for bald dudes, no. Again, just too funny and it shows insecurity and nah, dude. If he had hair and wore a wig sometimes for fun, that'd be whatever. I admit this is a double standard, but hair for men and women is different. I get a bald chick wearing a wig. She should disclose this to men, but it's just a different thing.

He can do his eyebrows if he wants, I recommend more threading or waxing. Honestly, I've dated guys I was trying to figure out how to tell them to get their eyebrows done because the unibrow was so off-putting. If he wants to fill them in, I mean, I'd find it a bit funny since I don't do mine, but whatever, so long as I don't have to wait all day for him to put his face on.

I totally recommend most men get a skin-care routine. I'm currently helping my dude with that just because he's complained about the skin on his face. I'd never think anything of it unless, again, it was like, I cannot get brunch because I must do my face.

As for other make-up, not so much. I know I woulda maybe been into it on emo-boys when I was younger, but closing on 30, nah. I don't want a dude wearing lipstick, eyeliner, eyeshadow or blush. Too girly and gay for me. I'm sure there's women who wouldn't care or who would like it. I'm just not one.

But also, to be clear, I wouldn't care if men I'm not dating do this. Worst I'd do is gay judge them.

Women who have long artificial nails, eyelashes and very heavy make-up are at best repulsive to me, at worst they scare me, like something out of a horror movie (the scary things in horror movies are often the ones that are almost right, but something is significantly bad at them). Some people may like it on women, but they won't do anything about the fact that I find it repulsive/creepy.

What will be considered feminine in a man and overly concerned with appearance will also vary from person to person. For example, when I see a man posing in front of a mirror, flexing his muscles and admiring himself, I personally find that unmanly and ridiculous. And I'm sure it will seem ok to a lot of other people.

Men should embrace using things to enhance them. Like filling in hair where its thin in the beard, hairline, or brows. My ex was a ginger and his eyebrows were light. Adding a brown eyeshadow to his brows gave his face much more definition. Did the same to his beard.

I bought him a green bb cream to remove some minor redness and give him a more neutral complexion.

I filled in my ex fwbs hair line with black eyeshadow and it made a nice difference.

Ive also seen men get wigs and done correctly, it can really improve a look. I'll provide pictures soon

I wouldn’t care about makeup at all, but I don’t think I’d be sexually attracted to a man with a full face/lashes etc. I’ve known dudes who wear concealer or some bronzer and I think it’s fine. I think if you’re disguising your physique or hairline in a way that’s not automatically obvious you should disclose that to a potential partner before they find out for themselves immediately before or during sex. Just to not set yourself up for failure. I think things like high heels or makeup women wear are usually easily recognizable as augmenting their appearance. However things women wear like fake padding to make their ass or breasts look larger, or color contacts, would fall under the same category as muscle suits or heel lifts for men. I don’t think it makes you a terrible person for trying to make yourself look better to the opposite sex. But it is kind of disingenuous to present yourself as looking a certain way to someone without disclosing that at some point.

I remember getting ready for senior prom I helped my date put makeup on his breakout lol I don’t think there’s anything wrong with men filling out their eyebrows, using concealer, getting their brows waxed, ect! If it looks good it looks good. Obviously if they over do it- just like women- it won’t be attractive. It’s all about social norms. Men wore heels, wigs, and makeup at various times throughout history and I’m sure women didn’t care. Now, a man will stand out, either in a good or a bad way depending on a variety of factors, if he uses obvious enhancements. A lot of women do like makeup, long/styled/unique hair, and flashy clothes, more than men realize. Men and women in alternative circles often dress and style themselves pretty similarly. A guy who wears heel lifts and refuses to admit it or swears his bad wig is his real hair, will get laughed at, but so will a woman who lies or makes a big deal about that sort of thing.

So yeah, it basically comes down to social norms, and “owning it.” If all bald guys started wearing wigs tomorrow, it would become expected and exposed heads would be laughed at. Men don’t wear a lot of enhancements because 1) physical labor was the norm in recent history, and 2) they had full social power over women and didn’t need to go out of their way to be attractive. As both those things are changing, I expect to see a major shift in men’s fashion toward more enhancements. Even now, I recommend men wear natural-looking makeup for dating photos and/or if they are embarrassed by skin issues.

Personally, I'm not a big fan of enhancements and I've never been attracted to women who wear a lot of make up, who have the fake lashes and the big fake nails, etc. It's fine if someone wants to use them and if they're happy with the way they look, that's great. I wouldn't be attracted to a man or a woman who used way too much make up or enhancements, but I wouldn't mind a guy who wears make up or got his eyebrows fixed.

Life is not extremes. Very few women are wearing complete face altering make up just living their lives. We’ve all seen the amazing transformation videos on social media, they obviously do not reflect most women’s actual reality.

So if men wanted to enhance themselves in the same way as women - concealer, penciling in a fuller brow, mascara, a subtle wig or a good haircut. Hell, even shape wear or a slight heel, that’s okay.

I really don’t care what men generally do. I would probably be a bit annoyed if my SO spent a bunch of extra time doing his makeup though as I don’t wear any and it would cause strain on us being on time for stuff but if he’s efficient and that’s not the case than more power to him!

I've seen women who have a whole character creation menu worth of enhancements and after they take it off they look competely different. Like wigs, colored contacts, eyelashes, eyebrows(drawn),make up, push up bras etc. I've seen women express disgust online for men who say they don't like stuff like this.

Just a reminder. What most people think is a "light makeup" or "natural makeup" look often involves more layers of product, more artifice, thicker coverage, and more changing of the structure of the face than the artsy, bright and dark color dramatic looks.

I have dated men who wear things like this (most commonly black eyeliner, black nail polish). One of my high school boyfriends had very ruddy skin and when we were going out for a more formal date he would dab on color corrector and concealer in a few places, even asked my help with it a few times. This was his own routine that existed before we had even met. He was a high school linebacker and on the school's jujitsu team as well, a big guy with broad shoulders and a big gut, very traditionally masculine in appearance and some of his hobbies.

Men already commonly use some enhancements (taking hairline protection medication, wearing contacts, growing a beard and sculpting it to feign a strong jaw or a strong chin, sportswear to play off muscle in more flattering ways. Some guys wear work boots even when they're not working that day to add a couple inches to their height.

Some just wear a hat to hide their hair, wear pants to hide chicken legs, whatever.

Bald and balding men already wear wigs (toupees) or enhancement versions of them (hair plugs). People take finasteride, sometimes steroids to inflate muscles.

I have probably been exposed to some more enhancements in men than the average person because most of my career thus far has been in the music and live entertainment industry or tangential to it. In my personal life I tend to spend time near goth or alternative subcultures. These are also very welcoming (and often formed and influenced by) other queer people as well as straight so you see a lot of people comfortable with playing with makeup/wigs.

I agree with the positive comments about guyliner. In against high heels in general, although I wear slight heels because others seem to like them and they were available. I'm looking to buy flats. I do think it's feminine to wear slanted heels- it's literally all about tits and ass. Show lifts I wouldn't notice or care about. If an older man wears a wig, I get it. I wouldn't be bothered, but it wouldn't increase his value. I'd still only want to be with someone the same age as me who is reasonably attractive to me when the wig comes off. Tattoo sleeves are not my thing regardless of gender, but I don't get bothered when someone chooses to partake. Maybe that's what you mean, that it's not your preferred style on a partner like I don't prefer tattoo sleeves? I can get that, but when you work with women in a professional setting, it's like women are putting on a temporary tattoo for a rock concert. The venue has an aesthetic that's appropriate and expected for that particular situation. I don't ever feel concern that there are men with tattoos going to rock concerts. There's no need to make everything about my specific preferences, Makeup is removable, even. Having a job is a lot more necessary than going to raves or whatever. Some things you just have to accept are a part of life.

When men neg on women for wearing “too much” makeup it’s not received positively because it’s like well no one was asking your opinion anyway. The rhetoric of men preferring women who seem like they’re wearing less makeup is prevalent. So it goes to follow that a woman trying to get attention from men would do their makeup that way. So what does that mean about all the women who are wearing kooky and bold looks, they’re doing it for fun and because they like it. Makeup is another medium of self expression just like clothes and shoes are.

If homeboy wants to wear tattoo sleeves who cares what women thinks, why should he? As for muscle suits well I hope he stays hydrated and cool because those can get stuffy.

The area I live in, NYC and Portland, thankfully for being more weird, I’m able to not wear a bra. Push up bras just remind me of the Victoria’s Secret shoes. Those were cool but women’s breasts aren’t naturally nearly up their neck and that creates as much of a toxic beauty standard as men feeling compelled to have a certain amount of muscle mass and feeling unattractive if they’re more thin. Beauty standards (aside from the intersectional racial and class element) are just ways for companies to create problems and then sell you the solutions. Why do women buy fake lashes that are so dense they could be hitler mustaches? Because fashion magazines said it was good looking. Ain’t nobody has eyelashes that look like that.

I think men who wear a little makeup or nail polish or jewelry are cool, I’m glad they feel comfortable and safe enough to express themselves that way. Everyone should feel that safety. Beauty standards change, they’re totally commercially manufactured, so when people challenge the corporate overlords trying to tell you what is and isn’t attractive I think that’s a win for everyone.
