For men, it's straightforward generally to most of us. We know whether we like it or not, we gotta be the one to approach to have any ounce of dating success. Do what you will with that knowledge. It's pretty cut and dry how men operate when it comes to approaches.

But with women, their mentality I have seen with approaching have been all over the place. First is the one where some women say they won't approach because men will see them as "desperate and clingy" so they rely entirely on them to approach.

This one confuses me the most because whenever a woman says this, nearly every guy in response says this is not the case to how guys generally will react to a woman asking them out. And I agree. I just cannot see a guy rejecting a woman he's attracted to simply because she's the one who asked him out. I'm sure it might happen once or twice but there's no way it's that common to where you feel like you cannot approach men at all. Women who say this have got to be saying this as an excuse or something to not face rejection.

You got the ones that will do all these "hints" to show they're interested but won't directly say they like you and ask you out because of this weird ego thing so you gotta be the one to figure it out. But women are also said to seem more kinder and flirtatious naturally to everyone so you'll probably think she's "just being nice" resulting in the woman thinking you're not interested, ruining your chance.

But some women will say if a woman likes you, she WILL make it known, it will be obvious, she'll make it easy for you and ask you out along with all the anecdotal experiences in the comments of women talking about the time they approached their BF first and other relationships to back it up. "If women don't do this then they simply don't like you!"

It's all just too much and hard to gauge what situation you fall in when interacting with women. Currently I'm just gonna assume no woman was ever interested in me because that's seems very likely in my case and trying to hyperanalyze what was and wasn't flirting or who was just being nice is too much of a mindfuck and too tiring.
