For those who are out of the loop, Trump's VP pick, JD Vance, is currently in hot water for expressing frustrations over the rise of childless women or "cat ladies" in society. Here's a link:

JD Vance slammed for 'childless cat ladies' comment - ABC News (go.com)

As expected, there was a bunch of backlash and outrage over hit statement, especially as he aimed his comments towards Kamala Harris and Taylor Swift who both have major followings right now. And even celebrities like Jennifer Aniston spoke out against him.

However, I couldn't help but pick up on a double standard where the media and progressives will often let hasty generalizations about single men and sexless men, often portraying them as Incels, creeps, misogynists, mass shooters, losers, etc. and agreeing with that rhetoric.

Yet they don't see the irony in the disparity and trying to defend the honor of single/childless women verses how they treat single/sexless men. Both groups are subjected to different types of stigmas to a degree but the former have far more support whereas the latter are frequently demonized and negatively stereotyped and nobody seems to care.

Even on this very sub, Blue Pillers will openly say that they think married men(like JD Vance) are more valuable to society than single men yet, if a man on here were to claim that tradwives or women with families are more valuable to society than single/childless women, all hell would break loose all over Reddit and the misogyny claims will be through the roof.

I'm just curious if any of you picked up on this double standard. Also, as the question asks: Do you think JD Vance would face the same backlash if the rhetoric was geared towards men?
