They don't actually believe that women are going around making false rape accusations, not really. These men pride themselves on their logic and the statistics show them false rape accusations aren't statistically significant AT ALL. They spin this narrative because they benefit from it. They benefit from people immediately doubting women, they benefit from the popular conceptualization of rape/sexual assault being blurry. Because they themselves are rapists/assaulters or would rape/assault if given the opportunity.
These are the men who prey on drunk women at parties, who go home and pester and nag their wives/girlfriends into having sex even though they know she doesn't want to, who've secretly taken the condom off while having sex with their hookup, etc. They live in fear of the day a woman they've raped/assaulted properly identifies what she's experienced and comes forward. They KNOW their sexual behavior is predatory, even if they won't consciously apply the correct label to it, and they know they could be held accountable for it.
Needless to say, ladies, if a man you know EVER insinuates that false rape accusations are a legitimate concern you should distance yourself from him, if not cut him out of your life entirely. The only men who're concerned with false rape accusations are the ones who're worried they've done things (or will do things) that will one day lead to a woman making an accusation against him, and he's already laying the groundwork to cast doubt on her.

I honestly think they should start screening people (boys, lbr) for low EQ. They're on the lookout for all sorts of other conditions and disorders and those usually get caught by the school system, but low EQ isn't considered an issue in and of itself so it goes unaddressed. It is a disability. These boys grow up and destroy lives, primarily those of their future spouses and children.
God, there was a post on r/AmItheAsshole (I think it was) the other day where a 15 year old boy was showing his mother, whose parents had just died in a car accident, ZERO empathy. And his low EQ father couldn't figure out why his wife wanted their son to go live with his cousin for a couple weeks so she could grieve in peace without her son barging in on her while she's crying to whine about dinner and making nasty comments about how her parents' passing wasn't a big deal because they were "old" anyway. Many men think if they say we should listen to the women who got raped, they are in immediate danger of being falsely accused of rape, while they gain nothing from supporting rape victims.
I don’t get their false security of never going to be a rape victim. I mean, even if they just think about themselves. Males are almost always the perpetrators but the victims are women AND men (and children), so no one is safe from rapists.

Imo it's less that they don't fear being a rape victim.
They fear being a perpetrator or rapist.
Any advancement in discussion of consent, rape culture, trauma, and consequences and rights of a rape victim shifts the responsibility more and more to them. They must ask. They must make sure. They must cover all gray areas. They must drink less. They must check their actions every single minute of the day.
They don't want to do that.

I‘d like to add that the only chance to have physical encounters with women or sex for some men is to pressure or manipulate them into these situations. They surely fear if they can’t use a drunk, insecure or helpless girl, they are never going to have sex again any time soon (sadly probably true), which scared them more than rape.

I have had this same interaction happen when a woman denounced her rapist on Twitter. There was an ARMY of men (and women! The majority of them were female teens, but still... ) asking for "proof", as if the testimony wasn't one. It seems like men feel more empathy for the random dude than for any victim. Even under their logic, why it is so important for them to believe in the potential innocence of the man than the victim's word?
"False rape acusations destroy so many~ men's lives!!" After so many cases of the contrary actually happening, how come they still think its valid to say things like this?

Many of you in the comments assume men have low EQ. This is dangerous. If you have low EQ, you don't know any better, since you are not capable of empathy. But these men are completely capable of empathy. Look at how they treat each other.
If they acted out of lack of empathy, they couldn't do any better, and would be acting out of ignorance. But that's not the case.
Men laving low EQ is the narrative they use when they drop their "Am I supposed to mind read? How could I know this would hurt you? You need to communicate". Also Depp has admitted before a judge that he was routinely high on cocaine in the time frame of the alleged abuse he claims to have received from Amber Heard. He got high with Paul Bettany on multiple occasions, and talked about wanting to drown and burn Amber and taking turns with him fucking her charred corpse to make sure she was dead. Men don't understand rape. For the vast majority sexual violence has never been a threat in their life, while all girls grow up with it in one form or the other.
The only thing they can identify with is the perpetrator and fear of "false accusations".
Probably they go back and remember all the times they treated women poorly and get all defensive. Because the so called false accusations are often not that false but a grey zone.
Going to the police and denouncing rape is so difficult and traumatic that many, many victims don't even do it.
Men believe it would be so easy to just go to the police, lie and "destroy a guy's life". It isn't.
So they should finally stop to blow things out of proportion and help to tackle the real problem, sexual violence against women. But they are unable, they lack the empathy.

It's about 4% which is on par with false accusations of other crimes.
It's probably lower, because many rape kits don't get processed and cases can't come to a close, so there are so many allegations where we have evidence that "she wasn't lying" because we have evidence of who it was.

Men really cannot hear anything about women's suffering without relating back to how hard things are for them. Especially on Reddit they love saying "men have it equally hard" or my person (least) favourite "if the roles were reversed women would get away with it!", no they don't and no they wouldn't.
Maybe it's because literally 99% are sex crimes are committed by men and something like 0.1% of rape claims are false. Men really like to believe that women gain sooo much for claiming false rape, when in reality something like a third of rape claims ever get followed up by the police, and even less result in arrest/criminal charge, with a tiny amount resulting in actual imprisonment.

Imagine a woman who was sexually assaulted and is traumatized reaching out to a trusted friend or family member that they’ve known for many years, and telling them what happened.
Then imagine the man she opens up to saying, “Wow, that sounds really awful if it actually happened. But there are many times that a woman lies about being raped to fuck up someone’s life. I need to make sure that’s not what happened here.”
And this is a scenario that literally happens all the time. Women reach out to their brothers, fathers, friends in hopes of having someone to comfort or help them, only for them to say that they think so little of her that they don’t trust her story and it was probably her fault, or she was lying.

My friend was raped and pressed charges. She was a virgin before that. They went through Facebook pictures and used pictures of her out with friends in dresses saying she “provoked it” and clearly wasn’t a virgin, totally slut shamed her, etc. She lost and we had to see the fuck around town afterwards.

Did anyone else notice that the OP never once said or even implied that he/she was speaking exclusively about women as survivors of sexual violence? There is nothing inherently feminine about the words “client”, “they” or “their.” Obviously, men, children and individuals who identify as non-binary can be victims of sexual assault as well.
Yet, the author of the second comment was so triggered that he immediately assumed this was a conversation solely about women making allegations against men, then felt the need to inform OP (who is clearly working in some professional capacity as a counselor) that his/her female patients may be lying.
