openly sexist men* are typically hot or at least have some other positive quality going for them (wealthy, charismatic, high status). they attract women despite their sexism, because their other positive qualities more than making up for it (unless you’re talking benevolent chauvinism, which is seen as a net positive by women, typically)

if a man is not hot, wealthy, charismatic or high status then being hostile towards women just makes the situation worse

*(that do not struggle to attract women)

I mean.. it does affect your dating prospects, in that it affects WHICH women you get. Do you want to date a woman who's attracted to someone that acts shitty? because acting shitty to attract women who're attracted to shitty behavior is how you end up with shitty women.

if a chick likes you enough, she won't care if you're a little sexist here and there.

If you want a relationship that actually means something to you, dating a woman who you don't respect will not do the trick.

I can’t stand how most the woman on this sub seem to be completely delusional to the fact that a lot of women choose partners terribly even though they have (on average) way more options and really only have to select correctly. OP is 100% right, being misogynistic has absolutely no impact on your dating prospects and why is that? Because most women don’t factor in your personality till their already in a relationship with you. Nobody cares about being a good partner if you can’t even get in a relationship and the reality is a large amount of women overlook long term qualities in a partner for the short term, then want to complain afterwards. We’ve all seen men who were obviously no good, garner a large amount of attention from women, women’s selection is incredibly shallow (on average).

It definitely affects your long-term prospects, mainly by weeding out mentally healthy women and leaving you with the type who will tolerate it but then take a baseball bat to your car when she’s mad.

Short term, it only affects your prospects if you lack the social calibration to hide it/convincingly pass it off as a joke. But the vast majority of men who post here probably do lack that social calibration. Very long time ago, I was talking to a guy like that. I did like him, as we shared some nerdy interests and I thought he was cute. But he had this underlying hostility and every conversation was littered with little passive-aggressive insults and complaints about women, and I just lost interest completely.

Just turn the tables and it’ll make sense. If a woman is attractive but has really extreme “blue-haired feminist” views and hates men, will that keep her from getting laid and getting dates if she’s able to keep it somewhat in check? No. But it will still ultimately affect her relationships. It’s also worth questioning why men or women who hate the opposite gender would even want LTRs with them.

The thing is, every woman has different icks. An offhand misogynist joking comment might not turn off one woman but turn off another. Women aren't a monolith, and both men and women need to understand this.

I personally think it's better not to be misogynist if one wants to increase one's chances with women just because there are some women out there who will be turned off by casual misogyny, even if not all women will be.

For that specific guy the ability to mentally disregard or even get pleasure from emotionally hurting women allows him to sleep around even more because hes able to just move on to the next girl incredibly quickly.

There is definitely discussion to be had about the fact that if you're a man and you just want to sleep around a lot there is no incentive whatsoever (except morals) to be a good human being.

This is a silly take — there’s no reason to think misogynistic beliefs would have zero impact on one’s dating life. In addition to any impact it might have on how others respond to you, you have to assume it would make an impact in how you think and approach dating yourself.

I think you’re trying to argue that misogynistic beliefs do not automatically mean a complete inability to date women, and that I would agree with. There are a ton of other variables at work.

I have made the same experience, although I do not think I had "red pill days" myself, and neither would I have called my behavior misogynistic. At this point, that word has lost all meaning. Whatever is said that a woman does not like is now called that.
