So initially I was excited to see some data on outcomes for children of single custodial fathers. There just isn’t much information out there since so few custodial parents are fathers. Until I actually looked up the American Journal of Orthopsychiatry study. 🤨

Dumb post.

1) Many cases of a man making a woman pregnant and then taking no responsibility. They flew the scene. Sometimes even nag the woman to get an abortion. Horrible men.

2) What about single dads? Can they do a better job? Babies need their mom to bond.

3) Always these posts but never real data that is not from a US hood place where women cannot get any child support and need to work 3 jobs because else they can’t come around. Someone who is struggling with poverty clearly has it more difficult to raise their children.

4) Some of the most successful and loving men I know are from single moms. One is my nephew. He always had a father figure in my older brother and already started his own successful business at 18. He is 20 now and one of the sweetest guys, always helping his mom and little sisters, never gotten in serious trouble, well mannered, studied well, etc. I know other single mom men who grew up similarly, with their mom raising them with the best manners, motivating them to study hard. These men all became high earners and caring men because they were raised with values and integrity. But these men I know are all men from Western Europe/Nordic where we actually have financial support for children and good educational systems that teach people values.

I think all the single mom data that shows bad results is mainly from the US where I have doubt about the educational system and support care system anyways so can’t take that data seriously. Looks like just US poverty problem.

Single fathers statistically do better raising boys than single mothers do (hence the violent crime statistics, since men account for >80% of all violent crime in America). Single mothers statistically do better raising girls than single fathers do, but single fathers get a pass on that one since a female is much less likely to end up committing murder no matter how she was raised.

None of this accounting for the fact that fathers are overwhelmingly more likely to abandon their children than mothers are 🥴

Those statistics don’t say anything. Association is not cause/effect. Let’s say that it’s true and that children grown with single mothers bla bla bla. Is it because she is a single mother? Or is it because she was working three jobs to make ends meet while the father wasn’t providing shit? Is it the consequence of poverty? Lower parental education? Living in worse neighbourhoods with worse schools? Racism? So, actually those numbers don’t mean that single mothers grow shitty kids. It means that father get away lightly and don’t put money or effort in growing their children and leave mothers to barely survive.

Single father deserve just as much praise.

It's not easy raising kids nowdays with two parents let alone one. Poverty is the biggest problem in regards to problems. Impoverished communities typically show higher crime rates and so forth. It's not necessarily a single mom issue. Correlation and causation are different.

We shouldn't just shit on females here blindly otherwise we are no different than the radical feminist.
