Women don't actually want their men to "be in touch with their feelings". Men don't show emotion or share their feelings because there is no benefit for them to do so in society or their relationships.

The biggest plight of the body positivity movement was they were asking for attraction more than they were respect and acceptance. Don’t believe me? Tell a body positivity girlie you don’t find a certain trait attractive on a woman. Instead of the mature “Ok whatever you can like what you wanna like but you still need to treat people with respect”, you’ll actually get “if it’s small just say so!” Or “a real man would [blank]”.

We should treat people with respect no matter what they look like. That doesn’t mean they need to find you hot.

This. Women deny it often nowadays, but the body acceptance movement of the late 00s and following did aim to lower men's standards. Men were berated for being too strict about women's bodies and were blamed for women's mental health issues. Men still are, in fact, especially via the "pornbrain" angle.

Which makes it so infuriating when women nowadays defend all their shallow body standards for men with "it's just a preference lol"

To be fair, I had a full blown eatting disorder to fit into 2000s beauty standards. I wasn't even a teenager and I was counting calories and eating mustard as a meal to look like the girls in the magazines. I fell down the pro-anna rabbit hole.

Body positivity has done wonders for young kids not hating themselves and that's fantastic to see.

Yeah it's silly to expect people to think being 30+ lbs overweight is more sexy then being a normal weight, but if our kids are safer I don't really care.

[–]brassbuffaloChill Pill Man - my pills aren't helping anymore 7 points8 points9 points 6 days ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Steroid usage among teen boys has risen dramatically. The body positivity movement did nothing for men, and now we have people like Clavicular running around. The kids aren't safe.

[–]CatchPhrazePurple, Woman, Canadian, Rad 2 points3 points4 points 6 days ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Steroid use is higher, but I mostly blaim the cheapness and ease you can get tren for.

That's not to say I don't think we should do more to include boys in the body positivity movement.

Here's a little gift I have for this thread (a video from CreatingAttractive, probably my favorite face analyzer):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YVi_7YldWRY

Five faces analyzed of varying levels of attractiveness. A bit lengthy due to so I'll leave timestamps below

Face 1: 0:56-3:50 (Average)

Face 2: 3:53-6:14 (Significantly below average)

Face 3: 6:17-8:41 (Below Average)

Face 4: 8:43-12:45 (Above Average)

Face 5: 12:37-16:31 (Attractive)

I don't get why people glaze women so much for their "style". The average woman doesn't dress particularly well and especially Gen Z and younger wear the same low effort baggy, chunky, androgynous crap that their fellow men do.

[–]zgtlunatic1 point 4 days ago [recovered] | Copy Link

Rates on TRM are actually quite accurate (BUT WAIT):

!Provided that you look at the ones from some of the more reputable users there. Badboymn and ettealways are some good examples.!<

A bit late, but bravo... A TUW thread that's actually decent.

https://np.reddit.com/r/trueuglywomen/comments/1ui67k3/all_women_need_to_do_is_lose_weight_to_be/

Adding on, being in shape can only get you so far if your fundamental facial structure is bad. That's where most overweight people I see come into play, as these are people that already know they don't look good (and therefore, start overeating as a cope).

I wonder why my neighbors fat ugly wife will literally throw herself at me and say how hot I am while at the same time even mildly attractive women will often ignore my advances. I could understand if less attractive women would just allow me to date them or sleep with them if I was genuinely not very attractive. That would make sense. But the way some less attractive women actively pursue me vs. the way slightly attractive women behave towards me has me completely lost in judging how women perceive me in terms of attractiveness.

Whether or not that's true is irrelevant. Teenagers are taking illegal and dangerous drugs to get in shape. Body positivity never included male bodies.

Steroids will still give you the muscles that women like. Just much faster than doing it naturally.

[–]MuscletovMaroon pill man 4 points5 points6 points 6 days ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

I fully sympathize, it's one of the few feminist pop culture topics I agree with them on. The 00s were brutal to women about their bodies and even back then, as a teenager, I always found it odd how strict (and delusional) lots of my fellow men were about women's bodies.

Which just makes me even more bitter how few fucks women give about men with body image issues. Not only do they not care, they actively gaslight and shame them simply because they arrogantly think their own shit doesn't stink. "Us, shallow? Never!"

And speaking of the harm these standards for men do: someone else already mentioned the rampant steroid usage and muscle obsession of young men and even teenage boys (correlates perfectly with the rise of dating apps and social media by the way) but studies also found out that short men are more likely to kill themselves.

[–]Icy_Ad_4544WOMAN 💖*~ my husband is 6’4” ~*💖 3 points4 points5 points 6 days ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Most of us women who went through the skinny craze in the 90s/00s aren’t always the same women who are dating today. Even if we teach our children to be accepting of body flaws they are still influenced by their peers/social media and want to impress their peers.

[–]Poppy_LuvvWoman: biting holes in condoms 0 points1 point2 points 3 days ago (0 children) | Copy Link

correlates perfectly with the rise of dating apps and social media by the way

Really, it correlates perfectly?

Correlation is not causation and that's a very sloppy drop of it. But yes, the pressures on boys have risen considerably and they are showing worse mental health due to it.

The big but here is, it's not women doing this. Women didn't push the roid body into the forefront. The people preying on boys via social media are largely men. The dating apps are run corporations.

[–]Spread-Em-PlzHyperactive Prettyboy, man! 2 points3 points4 points 4 days ago (2 children) | Copy Link

You hit the spot on this one

When I hear that “real men like curves”, when they’re obviously referring to women who are just obese…

Or worse yet? And I really hate this one with a passion, but women who are not up to the standard, often try to insinuate that men who like petite women are pedophilic or adjacent to it

And that has some startling implications about one’s character, when that’s the leap they’ll make

[–]growframeNo Pill Man 1 point2 points3 points 3 days ago (1 child) | Copy Link

You don't need to, sure. But you also don't need to tip. You don't need to hold doors open for people. You don't need dessert. Sometimes I let an unattractive person know I don't find them attractive as a little treat.

[–]Corbast7Blue WOMAN / gen Z old hag / feminist + leftist 5 points6 points7 points 6 days ago (4 children) | Copy Link

Sure, if you’re rude to people and have bad manners, you should reasonably expect them to dislike you, and maybe even insult you back. Holding a door open for people is considered polite and prosocial, which has the opposite effect.

Hope this was helpful.

[–]ArrowdodgingaceArchery 🏹 pilled 💊 man 0 points1 point2 points 3 days ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Way to miss the point. I was referring to how it destroyed its chance to be about including these people in society and not making them a pariah by demanding that men change what they find attractive. Women saw that men liked a certain type of woman in the media and didn’t like that so they assumed a social movement and taking over the media would make these men like them and that it was the media brainwashing men. It failed miserably and just made it harder for people with unattractive traits to be seen as human because that’s reputation the movement has left behind. It also unintentionally gave bigots more ammo against lgbt people.

[–]Poppy_LuvvWoman: biting holes in condoms 1 point2 points3 points 3 days ago (0 children) | Copy Link

What even is this comment lol

You're acting like body positivity lost. Body positivity won. No it didn't cause a total upheaval beauty standards, but it did permanently shift the Overton window around them. If you think people with actual out of the norm traits were better off in the 2000s I have some rare antiques to sell you for top dollar.

Body positivity was never actually about making men like fat chicks, That was FA/fat acceptance's goal.

I’m an objectively good looking guy. I can say the women who approach me first are deluded. If the genders were reversed it would be like a short; overweight ginger guy approaching a fit long-haired feminine stacy.

If I want women in my league I have to approach them myself and face rejection many times. But I am not lying when I say women are deluded when it comes to their own league. When you see a 2/10 female rating herself a 9/10 on social media it’s not ragebait; she really means it.

[–]Grow_peace_in_BedlamMarried Leftist Red-Purple Man, late 30s, DeCrowist 6 points7 points8 points 1 week ago* (21 children) | Copy Link

I know what you mean. When I was in college, despite being in very good shape with a nice face, I regularly got approached by fat girls.

It's trendy to call guys entitled, but what do you call women who want to benefit from a man's thinness without putting in the work to get thin themselves?

And I don't want to hear the old, "So is it hypocritical for a man to want a woman with a curvy butt if he doesn't have a curvy butt himself?" Being of a healthy weight is not like that, since it's one of the few attractive traits that are truly gender-neutral.

I've talked about this before but I think as a man the only way to consistently get with your looksmatch (or higher) is if you proactively approach those women irl. If you take an easier route to get to know women you will likely pay an 'attractiveness tax'.

this is why we tell women to not approach, because while you don't do it, some men will take it as an oppritunity to get sex from the woman but not have any interest in dating her.

it's better if she wait for a man who truly desire her to approach rather than her herself doing it and ending up being used.

I hear this a lot, but I'm not sure this is true. Plenty of men that aren't interested in you will approach you and some even see approaching as a sport. That's why interest should be gauged from conversations and whether the person makes an effort to call you or go out with you.

To be fair, there’s something to be said for the juxtaposition of women’s femininity and the masculine coded gender neutral outfits. You shouldn't really take reddit very seriously, but to answer your question: I guess it's more "politically correct" to blame men for not working "hard enough" to be attractive to women (aka blaming men) than to realize that the average guy is not as desired as above average men because the average guy doesn't have traits that are generally desirable (extroversion, tall, strong jawline, all of that stuff).

Yes they are the normal socially adjusted ones that go outside and act like a normal guy. They usually get girlfriends fairly easily and meet women or date within their social circles.

The other half of Gen Z men are chronically online and socially awkward and have no idea what a decent hair cut is or how to dress even remotely trendy. A lot of guys are weird.

Also men overrate themselves a lot and will look a mess and think they are still fashionable even tho everyone’s telling them they look a hot mess. I’ve seen it sm times on dating app review threads where even other men are just baffled.

For a man to approach a woman he just needs to think he has a chance with her

Mens' ego makes them think they "have a chance" regardless of how they look. Women aren't the ones who say "shooters gonna shoot." Men are well aware about this aspect of their nature.

The men on this sub have created this false narrative where all men are as neurotic and insecure as they are and so they dutifully "stick to their league" and are only ever rejected by entitled delusional women who got corrupted by Instagram or Chad cock. That doesn't actually track in reality. In reality, men approach who they want regardless of their own looks as well, even if the woman is better looking. "Only miss the shots you don't take," right?

Guys can technically try to date up as much as they want, and they do sometimes get a relationship, but relative conventional attraction seems pretty standard. If a guy was an inch shorter than you, how attracted would you be to him? Do you think he could get a single woman who’s taller than him on a dating app to sleep with him?

Therein lies the problem. I think you can practically predict the sex life of a couple based on their relative attractiveness to each other. I don’t care how many Redditors show me pictures of guys shorter than their wives. Their wives aren’t attracted to him.

I understand the concept, but what they do doesn’t feel like a sexual relationship. It feels closer to something that started out as a friendship. None of that negates or relates to my point. Which is that men frequently hit on women regardless of their own attractiveness. This is the point of "spray and pray" - men are not not as targeted, calibrated, risk-averse, and odds-focused in real life as men on this sub pretend they are.

[–] Reasonable_Mouse789 No Pill Man 2 points 3 points 4 points 6 days ago   (1 child) | Copy Link

I think “spray and pray” is proportional to the guy’s attractiveness.

An extremely attractive guy wouldn’t know what that is. Because the moment he shows up, a woman approaches him. It’s hard to be rejected as a guy if women initiate for you.

Next is the attractive version of spray and pray: you approach women, and sometimes get accepted in trade for predictable amounts of social effort. If a woman was looking at him or seemed drawn to him, clearly liked talking to him, clearly liked hanging out alone with him, clearly liked receiving a compliment from him, etc., then he mostly just used decent dating etiquette to sleep with whoever. They receive enough “choosing signals” in a short timeframe to have an idea of who’s actually attracted to them. Most likely to say “just talk to her bro, it worked for me”. This probably encompasses the majority of guys who get laid

Then comes the unattractive version of spray and pray. They keep trying, but no one ever gives him real choosing signals, so he makes up stories in his head about how women play “hard to get”, do “shit tests”, or prefer being “chased”. Lots of red pilled people are clearly about this unattractive.

Then at the bottom of the barrel you have the untouchables. I think of unattractive guys who approach in parking lots or hit on waitresses. People who flirt when it’s super cringey. Married conservative Boomers were somewhat like this, but I think if an unattractive Gen Z guy acted like this, then he’d stay permanently single

Broader range of what's considered attractive 🤔

[–]Mysterious-Candy8615 7 points8 points9 points 6 days ago* (1 child) | Copy Link

Dating apps are proving her wrong. When it comes to looks women have a way less varied taste in men. 5% of male profiles will get almost all the likes whereas it’s more evenly distributed amongst female profiles and yet women still claim they have a broader range than men.

[–]ta06012022Man 2 points3 points4 points 4 days ago (0 children) | Copy Link

According to Hinge data, the top 5% of men get 41% of all likes, while the top 5% of women get 31% of all likes. So yes it’s more skewed for men, but it’s also pretty skewed for women.

Part of the reason for the difference is a small percentage of men with premium who have unlimited likes and like every woman they swipe on. Those guys flatten the curve for women by shifting more likes down to the lower tiers. There’s not really any equivalent female swiping behavior.

https://web.archive.org/web/20170821031825/https://qz.com/1051462/these-statistics-show-why-its-so-hard-to-be-an-average-man-on-dating-apps/

[–]Corbast7Blue WOMAN / gen Z old hag / feminist + leftist 2 points3 points4 points 6 days ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I posted about this in a previous looks thread, but based on attraction research, women’s faces are universally judged by men as less attractive when they aren’t very dimorphic.

Women’s judgement of men’s faces at different levels of dimorphism are a lot more varied, so this translates to women generally having less agreement over which men we find facially attractive. Additionally, other metrics of facial beauty (symmetry, averageness, etc.) seem to be equally important in both men and women, so still overall women’s facial beauty is judged more narrowly, based on the dimorphism metric.

[–]Corbast7Blue WOMAN / gen Z old hag / feminist + leftist 1 point2 points3 points 6 days ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Why do you think so?

I see it like this: For women’s bodies there’s 2 ways to be attractive to men, and that’s by either being small/skinny or by being curvy / having big T&A. Chubbier women can still be a popular preference with men only so long as they’re curvy / have big assets, and women with small curves/assets can be popular only so long as they’re quite skinny. The rare women with both will obviously be the most popular with men, but men seem to generally fetishize one aesthetic over the other.

For men’s bodies it seems attractiveness is more based on height and muscles, universally. They’re not really treated as two separate aesthetic niches. Some women prefer leanness and some prefer more mass (seems to depend on the woman’s class background), but both preferences are still muscular.

It's still true IRL. Internet is full of noise and a lot of it is unhealthy for society. I don't think my life is all that special or people I work with are all that special. We make friends with each other and go have drinks and talk about families and interests and stuff. It's a mixed gender group.

Some people do be casually saying stuff like women are all like this or fuck men but I only hear that from people who are walking around miserable. It was weird because one time I was having lunch with a woman from work and she was talking about her dating life problems and said fuck all the men. I was thinking oh cool, I'm a man too so fuck me. The most efficient way to get women is to be 1. physically attractive 2. someone who doesn’t overthink what he says or does regarding women

If you are 2. but not 1. you’ll just be a creep to them and get harrassment cases against you

If you are 1. but not 2. you’ll get plenty of IOI’s but you may not act on them or kill the attraction later on

Everytime I saw a female get rejected (usually by a guy way above her league) she and her female friends will say : “He must be gay”; “He must have a small dick” or “He’s not a real man and can’t handle you”.

Whereas most men I see getting rejected have build a shield around it and will just go and try with the next girl.

Does anyone have a picture of Clav before his surgeries? Did he look radically different? He looks like he has a naturally nice bone structure, but his surgeries make him look ever so slightly uncanny, even if on paper they should be pushing him towards the magic ideal.

His flared nostrils were there originally. His nose after surgery removed the flares but also made his nose smaller and more feminine looking, which nerfed him in the eyes of many.

Life of an unattractive women. Situationships, casual hookups ...

[–]Mysterious-Candy8615 4 points5 points6 points 6 days ago* (2 children) | Copy Link

What’s happening here : she’s hooking up with above average guys who just want easy sex.

If she would go after her actual looksmatch she could have a relationship fairly quickly (like next week). But she doesn’t want them. She prefers to keep complaining online while continue getting pumped and dumped by above average guys.

[–]y2kjanellePink Pill Woman 1 point2 points3 points 4 days ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Many men here are severely ugly and genuinely believe still they are above ugly women… despite not being able to pull better.

For this to work, men need to stop overrating themselves and also most men are non committal and the uglier he is the worst it is because he pedestalizes sex and wants to use women vs have a relationship.

[–]Reasonable_Style8214Pro surgery man [score hidden] 11 hours ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Most men who overrate themselves quickly get a reality check after getting rejected by more attractive women. Women on the other hand still get to sleep with men out of their league which messes up with their ability to accurately assess their attractiveness level.

Tbh I think his physique is as good as it’s ever going to get. Ditching the glasses, wearing nice clothes, and improving the hair a bit would probably go further. Maybe also bulk up a bit of body fat since being low body fat doesn’t really do anything for a guy’s looks while he has clothes on.

[–]Siukslinis_accWoman 0 points1 point2 points 1 week ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Face is important. You tend to have the rest of the body covered, so the physique gives only a shape (and underneath the clothing you have no idea if there are muscles or padding). While the face is uncovered.

I heavily prefer dark brown eyes but it also depends on overall phenotype. I can't imagine Paul Newman with dark eyes having quite the same allure. OTOH Roman Reigns looked dumb in photos where he wore colored contacts, his dark eyes are part of his smolder

I definitely notice pupils too, there's one dog trainer I follow and she has such bizarrely large pupils. It kind of freaks me out lol

I also have a friend who married a guy with the "wrong" eye color. I thought for years the guy had dark brown eyes which to me mentally "made sense." Then I saw a photo of him one day and realized he actually had blue eyes lol. I left her a whole voice note about how wrong that was

[–]b_berry458Purple Pill Woman 1 point2 points3 points 5 days ago (4 children) | Copy Link

I agree the eyes have to fit the face, nothing worse than coloured contacts where they shouldn’t be.
Having big pupils can be inconvenient because in some situations people might think I’m on something 🫠. That’s hilarious you left a voice note.. just got to set the record straight.

Q4All: how do tattoos factor into attractiveness for you? Plus, minus, neutral?

[–]ta06012022Man 4 points5 points6 points 4 days ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Minus. How much of a minus depends on its size. If it’s the size of a dime and I barely notice it, that’s a small minus. A giant thigh tattoo is a disqualifying giant minus.

WARNING: A very unhinged and triggering view of body image

Whew y'all are harsh in these comments so now I know this is the only place I can post this opinion without sounding controversial. I'm going to sound very crazy but I can't look at very anorexic people without it making me very uncomfortable. Not uncomfortable in the sense that I feel bad for them (I do but that doesn't trigger a visceral response), uncomfortable in the sense that I'm visibly unnerved, stressed and sometimes even disgusted with the body. For context, I have underweight friends and they look fine. Most celebrities are underweight and look fine. Normal weight fine. Plus size fine. For some reason my mind has a knee jerk reaction to very visibly underweight people.

I cannot look at that Ariana Grande music video or pictures of her or any severely anorexic people. The chest area where the bones start jutting out scare me. A human skeleton fine. A human with flesh fine. But seeing bones through flesh makes me viscerally cringe. You know how tripoohobia makes people's skin crawl that's me with very visible, prominent bones on flat areas like the chest. A collar bone is beautiful, pointy elbows are beautiful, I'll even take pointy shoulders. But, once the bones are popping out of your chest or your ribs are poking out very prominently I cannot look at it. It makes me feel like my own skin is thinning out at the chest. It's such an unpleasant feeling.

Every time they showed us pictures of those kids with biology I couldn't stomach it. In school we once had to watch a video of a smoker who ended up with lung cancer and they showed a still picture of him close to the end of his life where he was so skinny every bone was practically visible under his flesh and I was terrified. I slept with the lights on for three days because that still image was so burnt into my mind. At the time it terrified me and I don't understand why. Like the image of frail patient scared me when I was 11 years old because all of his bones were sticking out. It doesn't make any sense.

The only other thing that triggers me that much is large amounts of blood. For most of my life I couldn't tolerate any amount of blood on a screen. My friend at 9 made us watch a movie about a girl who's arm gets bitten off by a shark (Her name was Bethany I think). She watched the shark bite her arm off while eating pasta. I ran to the other room.

Then you have someone like my partner who can stomach everything under the sun. He used to watch episodes of botched as a child because he found it interesting. Meanwhile, someone's fresh bloody nose job popped up on Reddit and I had to block it whilst half covering the screen.

I feel so bad because I think it's immature to be, for lack of a better word, disgusted, with the state of a human body that's visibly suffering due to mental illness or any other reason - like the men who think any women who are overweight are disgusting sound very vindictive and insensitive, so I know that's how this nonsense of mine sounds. I'm a big ass hypocrite because I cannot even stomach looking at Ariana chest for 2 seconds unless she's covered up. Whilst I judge people for telling bigger people to cover up.

Being slim/skinny is fine and obviously the beauty standards in most cases but for some reason there is a very low weight where bones that are generally non-visible start poking out and it triggers a very uncomfortable response in my chest. Like I'm stressed looking at you and I don't know why. It's the most irrational thing ever.

Ironically, people who are 700lbs are on the other end of the spectrum and they don't make me feel nearly as viscerally uncomfortable and I don't know why. I'm not attracted to them either but there's nothing about looking at them that makes me feel stressed out either. I could watch an episode of my 600lb life with no problems or qualms. My partner could watch something like botched but would immediately turn off an episode of my 600lb. I wish I could understand the psychology.

One reason you might be put off is their sheer rarity in first world countries. Everyone is overweight. The closest I’ve met to anorexic people would be religious people who put themselves on dietary restrictions.

Some people might also get scrawny from drugs or illness, I guess. It’s very rare.

[–]Throw-away10111 0 points1 point2 points 3 days ago (0 children) | Copy Link

Ya maybe. Third world for me. There's a lot of obesity in my country but most of the people I surround myself with are mostly skinny to underweight. Not Ariana levels but skinny.

Being the kind of skinny like Ariana is very rare but it's also rare for me to see someone who is 600lbs but one makes me more visually uncomfortable for some unknown reason.

[–]Poppy_LuvvWoman: biting holes in condoms 4 points5 points6 points 3 days ago (2 children) | Copy Link

As someone who is neurodivergent, yes it is?

How your brain developed impacts your behavior, and your behavior is part of your personality.

I have ADHD, my hyperactivity shows up in my speech patterns. I talk a lot, I love talking. I will talk for hours to just about anyone about just about anything. That's a huge part of my personality, I've always been described as sociable and bubbly.

[–]fiftypoundpuppySpayed Old Maid | Hoet Laureate ♀ 1 point2 points3 points 4 days ago (3 children) | Copy Link

"How your brain develops" doesn't say anything meaningful, everything about us originates in the brain. You might as well include separate contexts for I.Q., mental illness, etc.

Men just like to separate these things because they hate admitting how much personality matters. But it doesn't matter the reason why someone can't understand social cues; pick up nuance; is neurotic; or has rigid thinking. It's a part of their personality either way. Neurodivergent people who effectively mask would see no difference based on "their brain development" because what really matters is how it externally manifests.

[–]SomerandomduderebornLvl 26 apprentice wizard 😎🪄, It is what it is pill 0 points1 point2 points 4 days ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It says enough to set it apart for personality and quite literally is the definition of neurotypicality.

Neurodivergent people who mask it still have a different brain development than neurotypicals 🤷

But

Men just like to separate these things because they hate admitting how much personality matters.

Cool strawman, my turn.

Women like to equate the same because they hate neurodivergent men but they can't say it's because they are neurodivergent thus by equalizing both they can blame their personalities instead

It says enough to set it apart for personality and quite literally is the definition of neurotypicality.

Neurodivergent people who mask it still have a different brain development than neurotypicals 🤷

Personality:

: the complex of characteristics that distinguishes an individual or a nation or group* especially : the totality of an individual's behavioral and emotional characteristics

Neurotypicality is well within this definition. Regardless of whether one masks or not, their behavior would still be a group of behavioral and emotional characteristics. Neurodivergence itself is a specific externalization of these things despite the fact that these things originate in the brain (like, once again, most things do)

Cool strawman, my turn.

Women like to equate the same because they hate neurodivergent men but they can't say it's because they are neurodivergent thus by equalizing both they can blame their personalities instead

Neurodivergent men aren't "hated," specific traits of neurodivergence are incompatible with frictionless socialization and undesirable in relationships. These things would remain true even if the cause wasn't neurodivergence. Socially awkward men aren't any more successful if they don't have neurodivergence as a scapegoat 🙄 Rigid black-and-white thinking isn't any more tolerable if a guy isn't neurodivergent. These things are just annoying in general. As personality traits.

Neurotypical describes individuals whose neurological development and functioning align with what society considers standard or typical

I feel like people used to have separate standards for celebrities and people in real life.

For example, when I was in high school (early to mid-2000s), I remember one girl who was a bit chubby (but not in a way that affected her curviness) and squat-bodied. I distinctly remember thinking how she would look funny on MTV but looked very attractive to me in real life.

Do people not make that distinction anymore?

Megan Fox is not at all what I’m talking about when I say “female high fashion model”… The most elite of elite models are those with very striking but also kind of weird faces.

The whole point is that they look unique, polarizing and very much unlike other humans you’d come across irl. They have low averageness; most normal people don’t have weird let alone striking faces. That rare uniqueness is why they’re so sought after by high fashion / editorial modeling agencies.

I think you're onto something here, I've never found most female high fashion models very attractive either (some exceptions exist). They tend to have attributes that other women find pretty but are not super important to men e.g. long shiny hair, defined cheekbones, long legs..

There seems to be difference between "model-attractiveness" and "actor-attractiveness" where the latter looks more like a regular person, just a lot more beautiful, but not striking or unusual like a model. Most people definitely tend to have more celebrity-crushes on actors and actresses than on models too. (But part of that is definitely that actors display more actual personality and charm in their profession than models which is important even to men).

So you’re telling me the guys who spend all their time online with other guys making videos about attractive men, are showing certain tendencies most men don’t have?!

[–]Reasonable_Mouse789No Pill Man [score hidden] 18 hours ago (1 child) | Copy Link

Psychology and familiarity affect how attractive you think someone is.

I think attractive people grow used to each other’s looks in the same way as unattractive people grow used to each other’s looks. However, when someone outside of a person’s familiarity presents themselves, the attractive people get good responses, and the unattractive people get bad responses.

This effect can be noticed by staring at pictures. Looking at images of top models for 5 minutes will make you feel more “familiar” with them. However, if you then switch to normal people, they will all feel very ugly.

This effect reverses for people who “go outside”. They become mostly familiar with ugly people, and then become stricken by the rare very attractive person.

This can be tested by staring at yourself and what you look like on video. You’re probably “familiar” with your own face, so your mind doesn’t criticize it. If you stare at models, then you will probably hate your face a bit. If you stare at ugly people, then you will probably like your face more.

This also leads to something that I think passport bros pick up on: “exotic” people get extra points for their attractiveness, even if they’d be “average” elsewhere. This is because people are less familiar with their distinct looks.

It also leads to a concept I’d call “social media poisoning” or “dating app poisoning”. You should be able to be attracted to people who are facially at about the same level as you. If everyone you socialize with seems “chopped”, then a decent cure might literally be to go stare at some ugly people on the internet for a bit to reset your senses to be more attracted to “normal” people.

[–]Logos1789Man [score hidden] 17 hours ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I agree that this is how it works, but I disagree with the notion that a better informed person (knows what good looks like to them from the internet vs being stuck in a local scene) ought to intentionally moderate their preferences.

If the species dies out because it turns out that most people alive today aren’t desirable enough to reproduce with, then so be it.

I think the real brutal pill to swallow is that if you were ugly or average and became above-average or downright hot, that you still will never have the same nervous system as someone who was born attractive

You’ve had such different experiences and it’s gonna take more time for you to learn to be more fixed in the identity that you are attractive. It could play to your favor if you’re confident in your newfound looks while also having been humble because of your past experiences

But if imma be real, quite a bit of guys start acting out and become weirdos or act like they’re not used to being attractive, instead of letting the fact exist for what it is

Which is another reason why this whole "it's your personality, bro" is such reductive, dismissive bullshit.

Your personality, apart from having a very solid genetic foundation people really love to gloss over, is also fundamentally shaped by your formative years. And being an attractive kid/teenager makes it way easier to develop a personality widely considered attractive, i.e. neurotypical, outgoing, confident, unbothered, ambitious etc. And to top it all off, there's the Halo/Horn effect. The better looking you are, the better your personality is perceived.

Yes, advice, introspection, self-help and therapy can definitely improve the attractiveness of your personality and lots of sexually/romantically unsuccesful men could benefit from that, but overall it's a lot of effort and will pretty much always remain a fragile construct. It's very similar to the situation of addicts. Just like a single relapse can undo years of sobriety, a single bad experience, harsh rejection or bullying attempt can undo years of "personality work".

The “looks match” of a dude is the women he can pull.

Full stop. There is no “chart” somewhere that makes people re shuffle to the partners more “matched”. There is no “SMV value scorecard” where people go “oh well your score is high so I guess I’m sexually attracted to you. There is no big screen determining your 1-10 “rating scale” where people then have to decide on only the person in that category or below.

It’s who you can pull. The end.

Who you can pull is your SMV-match (for casual) or RMV-match (for relationships). Looks and looksmatch is variable that correlates but is not equivalent to these

[–]Reasonable_Mouse789No Pill Man 0 points1 point2 points 5 days ago (12 children) | Copy Link

It depends on what game you’re playing. Some ugly guy who excessively socializes with women and flexes some money on them isn’t really the same thing as a woman actually wanting to have sex with a guy

Alcohol, partying, socializing, unique compatibility, money, appealing to a woman looking to have children, etc. all feel like “cheating” in this game lol

[–]Lift_and_LurkMan: all pills are dumb 3 points4 points5 points 5 days ago (11 children) | Copy Link

I mean it- it’s not the same according to whom. Who is saying it’s not the same?

[–]Reasonable_Mouse789No Pill Man 1 point2 points3 points 5 days ago* (10 children) | Copy Link

Socialize with women. Look at the face of a woman at a sports college gazing at a guy she’s actually attracted to, and then compare that to a red piller practicing “game” with some woman who will barely fuck him when she’s got a couple of drinks in her. You have to place specific rules on what “pulling” actually means, or else some people are going to “cheat” and “pull” women who clearly aren’t that into them

For things to make sense, there have to be “rules” of how much effort is allowed

[–]Lift_and_LurkMan: all pills are dumb 3 points4 points5 points 5 days ago (9 children) | Copy Link

Creating hypotheticals isn’t actually doing anything. That’s just strawmanning

I asked who: can you even answer?

And who set up these “rules”? - who decided these rules

[–]Reasonable_Mouse789No Pill Man 2 points3 points4 points 5 days ago (8 children) | Copy Link

You remind me of a PM trying to game their Jira points and being annoyed by a process you know nothing about that you want to skip

“Rules” need put in place to prevent red & blue pillers from using alcohol, excessive socialization, and money as leverage for sex and calling it “attraction”, when base attraction should, for most people, probably just be defined as looks and chatting for a few hours

Even then, that still can feel like cheating. To be more precise, which women respond to you on dating apps when you message them “Nice boobs” as a first message? That’ll really cut down to who’s actually attracted to you lol

[–]Lift_and_LurkMan: all pills are dumb 2 points3 points4 points 5 days ago (7 children) | Copy Link

Your first part has nothing to do with my question and is just an attempt to dismiss

So we can assume you don’t actually know who it is who created these “rules” you believe?

[–]Reasonable_Mouse789No Pill Man 1 point2 points3 points 5 days ago (6 children) | Copy Link

I’m pointing out the obvious need for rules beyond “who you pull is your smv”. That’s not really true tbh, because it obfuscates the obvious advantages people can get via months of socialization, effort, alcohol, partying, or money

[–]Lift_and_LurkMan: all pills are dumb 2 points3 points4 points 5 days ago (5 children) | Copy Link

Except you actually can’t say who makes these “rules” in the first place so who cares of the opinions of “need” when it’s written by ghosts?

So I’ll ask one last time. Who told you “these” obfuscate? Who made the rules?

Cause it’s looking more and more like arbitrary ideas that people just accept as truth blindly.

[–] Reasonable_Mouse789 No Pill Man 1 point 2 points 3 points 5 days ago   (4 children) | Copy Link

Believe it or not, some people appeal to logic, instead of a random authority. I can point out the need for rules without needing to call in your manager

[–] Lift_and_Lurk Man: all pills are dumb 1 point 2 points 3 points 5 days ago   (3 children) | Copy Link

Where is the logic in believing in rules that were established by -someone- under the knowledge of -unknown- with the experience of -uncited-

[–]fiftypoundpuppySpayed Old Maid | Hoet Laureate ♀ 0 points1 point2 points 5 days ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

The match of undesirability is undesirability. I'm not sure why men think their feelings should change that. You are perfectly free to be unhappy about that, which is quite understandable... but the insistence on demanding reality bend to your feelings is the truly unreasonable part

So then it's just a matter of what nerfs sexual/physical appeal in women to the same extent as shortness in men. There's a range to it and it also depends on face. There are always of course exceptions - women who care less, etc. But as a general rule men's SMV is already below women's so being short just widens that gap. Being fit might make you eligible for the top tier of undesirable women, however that translates. And again, exceptions exist.

[–]Reasonable_Mouse789No Pill Man 0 points1 point2 points 5 days ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

It depends on if he’s muscular and handsome. One guy I knew somewhat like that just dated a generic skinny fat woman who he was a bit more facially attractive than, even though he was only a couple inches taller than her

Lean guys are less attractive. Skinny fat guys are even less attractive. Less facially attractive guys struggle the most, probably. Short/pudgy/facially unattractive probably means women don’t want to have sex with you

Attractive = 8 inches taller, a bit fitter, and a bit more facially attractive than a woman

Unattractive = 4 inches taller, a bit less fit, and a bit less facially attractive than a woman

It generally feels like, the further away some guy moves from this formula, the more he probably is forming more of a friendship that eventually involves sex, instead of forming sexual relationships that eventually become a girlfriend

Sex addicts tend to be somewhat aware that, if they socialize with women they’re not conventionally attractive to and hang out alone with them for extended periods of time over a month, then she might catch feelings, but it feels awkward to do. Guys become too aware that some other woman will sleep with him after hanging out for a few hours

A lot of women debate on this sub like attractive men don't exist.

Someone told me that women objectively never explore old options because new ones always exist and that I wouldn't understand because I'm not a woman.

Truth is though, pretty privilege for men trumps a lot of what gets discussed here. People say women don't do this or will never do that and it makes for such bad debates because nobody accounts for what they apparently don't know when making arguments.

Hot men aren't confined by whatever y'all be talking about on here man lmao.

Many times you will see women insist in one post that there's no such thing as attractive men getting special treatment, only to assert in another post that a man isn't attractive enough for what he's asking

[–] Ok_Use7 No Pill Man -1 points 0 points 1 point 4 days ago   (0 children) | Copy Link

A lot debate just to respond to things they don't like, not actually counter-argue with substance. Someone recently told me that women like men with nice guy syndrome all because they ignored obvious context.

Had they asked for clarification to actually understand instead of replying with insults, it would've saved them from dying on that hill.

[–]growframeNo Pill Man 1 point2 points3 points 3 days ago (9 children) | Copy Link

I don't hold much stock in the topic itself, but I do have to raise an eyebrow whenever some women say things like "well of course he should pay considering how much effort we put into dolling up. If he wants a good looking woman he'll have to pay up" regarding paying for dates.

And like... no? The most attractive women I know don't really have to "doll up". This isn't a "makeup = faking" or "natural look" point, attractive women use their fair share of product, but as far as I know it's not really this super elaborate process. When you're attractive it's more about enhancing your look than creating it

So I know a lot of men don’t realize this, but even outside of “dolling up” to get ready for a date, it’s still very time consuming and expensive for a woman to maintain a “naturally pretty” aesthetic. Dolling up =/= maintenance.

Your flair is “pro surgery” and you’re here talking down on “misrepresenting genetic quality” ?? What?

Also pretty much nobody thinks maintaining your appearance is frauding anyone, especially for things that don’t wash off at the end of the day like heavy makeup. And it seems like wealthy men understand that those wealthy women are expensive, and are more likely to pay for them for how they look.

If you want casual, you need to maximize shoulders to waist ratio, which generally means prioritizing side delts, upper chest and lats training in that order while being at low body fat percentage. But really, the only way to know for sure is creating a bunch of fake profiles on tinder and comparing the amount of matches between different physiques - you will probably have to use AI tho since the face has to stay the same.

Q4BlackPillers:

if looks are everything, which i'm not trying to argue against, do you also think looks are everything to men too and that women EVERYONE loses to chads/stacy or do you think it affects men more?

for example i've seen the criminal chad experiment and yea, brutal. but the exact same outcome would come if you reverse the genders. which argues against the notion that women are the virtous gender, but it doesn't show women care more about looks than men do. it kind of shows they do to the same extent if anything.

[–]PrinceDuneReloadedBug Pilled Man 🐛🦋 2 points3 points4 points 5 days ago (0 children) | Copy Link

men care about looks too. its just that the looks threshold set by men is a much lower bar than the one set by women

[–] fiftypoundpuppy Spayed Old Maid | Hoet Laureate ♀ -2 points -1 points 0 points 6 days ago *   (6 children) | Copy Link

I think Chad fishing '"experiments" really don't tell the whole tale. The fact that really attractive people can still have interest isn't newsworthy. But I definitely believe significantly more men would be interested in Sex Offender Stacy than women would be interested in Sex Offender Chad, and significantly more women would reject Sex Offender Chad than men would reject Sex Offender Stacy.

So the fact that both can still have interest doesn't necessarily prove it's "the same extent." Men here have famously crowed about how little they care about women other than looks (and sometimes agreeableness) while women have consistently prioritized looks and personality in attraction. I'm not sure why that would translate to identical interest in hot sex offenders.

See, this is the nonsense about personality that pisses me off

Your feelings, your responsibility 🤷🏿

I have seen some absolute scumbags have no problem getting laid. One man was joking with his date about how he had ghosted another woman after getting her pregnant. Women in my experience do NOT prioritise 'personality' any more or less than men

You didn't read a damn thing I said for comprehension. Nothing I said was "hot scumbags don't get laid." In fact, I explicitly acknowledged they would get interest. Somehow you decided to ignore all of that in order to rant at me about how scumbags get laid so obviously there are zero differences in male and female sexuality, which is just scientific denialism

If women cared just as little about personality then autistic men would have just as much success as autistic women, shy men would be just as desired as shy women, etc. Your feelings about accurate observations shouldn't warrant you shooting the messenger, but if you want to pretend like biology is meaningless to behavior then there's no common ground for us anyway

[–] Timosox Indigo pilled man 2 points 3 points 4 points 6 days ago   (3 children) | Copy Link

there's no common ground for us anyway

I guess there isn't.

All the autistic and/or shy men I know who are good looking have no problem finding partners. Many women, if they find a guy hot enough, will do as much work as they need to get into bed with him

[–] fiftypoundpuppy Spayed Old Maid | Hoet Laureate ♀ 0 points 1 point 2 points 6 days ago   (2 children) | Copy Link

Once again, you came at me thinking you had a challenge for something I explicitly acknowledged in the comment you replied to.

You had no argument. Men here struggle horribly with relative comparisons and I truly can't understand it. I said MORE men would be interested in Sex Offender Stacy than women would be interested in Sex Offender Chad. I said MORE women would be turned off by Sex Offender Chad than men would be turned off by Sex Offender Stacy.

This is a comment acknowledging both would still have interest.

This is a comment that says MORE women care about the negative personality and would avoid Sex Offender Chad than men would care about Sex Offender Stacy.

To all of this, you say:

"Well nah uh cause I see hot men get laid so obviously women don't care about personality 😜🤪"

[–] Timosox Indigo pilled man 2 points 3 points 4 points 6 days ago   (1 child) | Copy Link

No, I'm disagree with:

I said MORE women would be turned off by Sex Offender Chad than men would be turned off by Sex Offender Stacy.

I would say they would both have the same level of interest. This again is just a way to sneak in "women don't care about looks as much, and therefore aren't as shallow and are superior to men". As many women would be interested in sex offender Chad as men are in sex offender Stacy

[–] fiftypoundpuppy Spayed Old Maid | Hoet Laureate ♀ 1 point 2 points 3 points 6 days ago *   (0 children) | Copy Link

I would say they would both have the same level of interest.

There's no reason to believe this is the case if you believe in sex-based differences in sexual attraction.

This again is just a way to sneak in "women don't care about looks as much,

I'm not "sneaking in" anything, you being pissy about biology doesn't make a difference to anything. This isn't "women don't care about looks as much," this is "women weigh personality more." Just because you have a pain point about "women not caring about looks as much" doesn't mean you get to pissily project it where it was never fucking said.

There are established differences in how much men and women weigh personality initially. Men just want to fuck and then figure out compatibility later. They admit this themselves. At the extreme end, men literally say they care about nothing else about a woman except how she looks. There's no such equivalent demographic in women.

Women care more about personality up front than men do, which is why personality absolutely does disqualify men up front more than it does for women. This isn't debatable.

Your feelings about that once again are your responsibility. You taking that as some sort of moral judgement of men and moral superiority of women is all in your fucking head, and not in anything I actually said.

I think #4 would be above average in a pretty boy way if clean-shaven with hair done, he only posted pics with hair done/weird not beard growing in and hair not done/clean-shaven.

Is anyone ever curious how the men and women on those incel/femcel subreddits look like?

In real life I see short men with attractive wives having children. I see plus sized girls with men dotting over them. Nothing like the worlds that some subreddits draw.

Anyone managed to see pictures of them?

[–]Reasonable_Mouse789No Pill Man 2 points3 points4 points 3 days ago* (0 children) | Copy Link

It’s easy to believe an incel is just a below average guy permanently struggling on dating apps and who doesn’t pick up any signals of any women he socializes with flirting with him. He probably somewhat aligns with being short, fat or scrawny, and facially unattractive. Walk up to a guy at your school or college and tell him “go sleep with a woman”. He probably can’t magically pull up any results immediately, even if he’s charming. The majority of guys have to either know someone off the top of their head they socialize with who’s already open to them, or otherwise find someone who will sleep with them

I unironically think women give hints to “Chad”, and he picks up on them because he gets those hints frequently, leading to sex. When they give flirty hints to less attractive “incels”, women expect a stronger response from a guy who should clearly want to sleep with them, but an inexperienced guy might not even notice a woman who clearly wants to talk to him, hang out alone with him, touch his arm a lot, act flirty with him, etc.

Women are odd, because I can’t picture what a true femcel looks like. I don’t think I’ve met one. Fat women I’ve socialized with and talked to via friends of friends or coworkers have always had access to online dating, or some guy they’re talking to. I think femcels meet the definition of “short, fat, facially unattractive”, and maybe don’t like the guys available to them, or the treatment they get from guys. Because to be fair, guys can be pretty unbelievably toxic and mean to unattractive women (especially e.g. women who date guys who have been to prison before)

I've seen one off of TUW and a few off of what that one sub was. They weren't freakshow tier but still notably below average nonetheless.

The one off of TUW I saw (post since deleted) had good skin and wasn't overweight, just that the face looked odd and had overall bad harmony.

[–]Motor-Buy-6991Man [score hidden] 8 hours ago (0 children) | Copy Link

I don’t see any young short men with attractive women. Only old short guys with money.

[–] Throw-away10111 -1 points 0 points 1 point 3 days ago   (0 children) | Copy Link

For incels, I don't think they're ugly, in fact some of them might be attractive. There was a guy on PPD sometime ago, I can't remember exactly when, who posted a picture of himself after being a prick and the women dragged his looks. I thought he was actually not bad looking and could even be handsome but my guy and girl friends have hinted to me not always having high visual standards. 😅 I think it's a combination of they genuinely are assholes and western standards of beauty are very fixed. A lot of them are just very mean so I can see how they'd struggle with socialisation. Mean people aren't fun to be around. And then if you're in a country where things like height, body frame, skin tone etc matter for men + you're uncharming and unsocialised on top of that I just imagine a domino effect builds on. The short men who are not struggling found social circles and got to practice socialising.

The femcels are definitely considered below average in the west. Their experiences mirror my own in some ways. But where I'm from my attraction is viewed differently to different groups of men. I've had men express visible disgust to me and men who have genuinely called me gorgeous. You can definitely find genuine attraction as a plus size women in my country. Skinny is the preference but there are pockets of men who will like chubby and and they even seem to be on the taller side. Being tall is also not common here. Even a chubby girl in our class is dating the tallest man (6,5ft+) in our class and my tallest guy friend (6ft+) has made moves on me. But I've seen short men loving fat women too. It's possible and common but also like I said skinny is mostly preferred.

My cousin came back very skinny after staying in America and from the fact that men even get offended by plus size women asking them out my conclusion is y'all are not fucking with fat women at all.😂 They are hated. I do believe the femcels have genuinely been through it with the beauty standards and probably even lean towards being chubbier and more ethnic and I feel for them. I only ever felt bad about my appearance when I went to a predominantly white school. Even Tyla (the singer) said she finally felt pretty once she no longer attended a white school and Tyla is fucking gorgeous. I can 100% believe western standards will demoralise the women there if you don't fit into their box of pretty. And ya you may be seeing those women in relationships but the men here are claiming they have to settle for fat and ugly women so how genuine are they really?

How common is actual love, like the ones you read in stories or see in anime? With pure lifelong love and shit.

I feel like in the real world people get horny, break up and then end up alone. At least for a majority of people?

<image>

[–]Lift_and_LurkMan: all pills are dumb 2 points3 points4 points 4 days ago (0 children) | Copy Link

The majority of people break up. Deal with the heartbreak, move forward and then meet another person.

Most people end up coupling up.

I think it is pretty rare to find the pure lifelong love. Most of the people I know have a few different relationships throughout their teens and adulthood.

I think 95% of people are unattractive. Even when I look at some celebrity such as Brad Pitt, if someone takes a picture that’s even slightly unflattering, they lose all their appeal. Your face has to be nearly perfect to be considered universally hot in 2026

You can tell that, even though there’s nothing fully “off” about his face, he just doesn’t have the same facial appeal as a Tinder “Chadfish”

[–]Poppy_LuvvWoman: biting holes in condoms 2 points3 points4 points 3 days ago (2 children) | Copy Link

It's a good thing people are 3D beings and not bad pictures.

[–]fiftypoundpuppySpayed Old Maid | Hoet Laureate ♀ 2 points3 points4 points 3 days ago (24 children) | Copy Link

So predictable personal attacks notwithstanding, he has a very niche look that only specific women would actually find attractive. His mass appeal is to men.

[–]Reasonable_Mouse789No Pill Man 2 points3 points4 points 3 days ago (11 children) | Copy Link

He appeals to attractive women. He is attractive. He is the person people are referring to when someone uses the term “Chadfishing”. He is the face of Chadfishing.

It is impossible for a man to be the face people think of when used for Tinder “Chadfishing” experiments, and not be “Chad”. He is, objectively, very attractive.

It’s not “subjective”. His appeal isn’t “niche”.

[–] fiftypoundpuppy Spayed Old Maid | Hoet Laureate ♀ -1 points 0 points 1 point 3 days ago   (10 children) | Copy Link

He's guido-coded and that appeals mostly to men, as any gay dance club would show you. He doesn't exude strong traditional masculinity. He looks prissy and vain, which are feminine-leaning traits. He honestly also looks like he's wearing makeup.

His appeal would be niche, not "conventional." You picked a bad example.

[–] Reasonable_Mouse789 No Pill Man 1 point 2 points 3 points 3 days ago   (9 children) | Copy Link

He got 800 matches with women in 48 hours. Plenty of women are attracted to him. Your subjective opinion isn’t relevant compared to his objective dating market results.

[–] fiftypoundpuppy Spayed Old Maid | Hoet Laureate ♀ 1 point 2 points 3 points 3 days ago *   (8 children) | Copy Link

I said his appeal would be niche but it's generally a look that speaks to gay men. IDGAF about "800 matches" nor dating apps in general, but you're more than welcome to provide the proof of this. Men who are conventionally attractive have a much better balance of masculine/feminine and he's very feminine-coded.

Brad Pitt was a much more fitting example. Even though he was never my type or someone I fawned over, I still got it.

There are no such feelings for this guy. He just reads vain, prissy and feminine.

[–] Reasonable_Mouse789 No Pill Man 3 points 4 points 5 points 3 days ago   (7 children) | Copy Link

Once again: your bad subjective opinion is completely meaningless compared to objective results. He is objectively physically attractive.

[–] fiftypoundpuppy Spayed Old Maid | Hoet Laureate ♀ 1 point 2 points 3 points 3 days ago   (4 children) | Copy Link

Just to clarify, your so-called objective proof is a YouTube video of a guy talking about an X account, which quotes a "REPORT."

[–] Reasonable_Mouse789 No Pill Man 0 points 1 point 2 points 3 days ago   (3 children) | Copy Link

[–]fiftypoundpuppySpayed Old Maid | Hoet Laureate ♀ 0 points1 point2 points 3 days ago (2 children) | Copy Link

No. He looks like a prissy blatantly makeup-wearing man. This is not a look that the vast majority of women of all ages, backgrounds, and locations would find "objectively attractive." It leans far too feminine and gay-coded.

Men need to stop thinking they have the eyes of women. You don't, and you never will. Penises do not determine what is attractive to vaginas.

[–]Logos1789Man 2 points3 points4 points 3 days ago (1 child) | Copy Link

[–]fiftypoundpuppySpayed Old Maid | Hoet Laureate ♀ 0 points1 point2 points 3 days ago (0 children) | Copy Link

It's fascinating to me how frequently good-looking women will nerf their children by pairing up with unattractive men. Ofc if they don't have kids it's irrelevant but most of them do. Beyonce and Christie Brinkley are good examples of this.

The fact that men can and frequently do mitigate their looks with other factors also rebuts the "sexy son" hypothesis. Women are sexually attracted to good-looking men but still regularly procreate with men who are bland-looking or even downright ugly.

On a semi-related note, a lot of inbred looking genetics propagate like wildfire in poor western communities. Bug or tiny eyes, terrible jawlines, awful ratios and symmetry. There certainly are poor attractive people but extreme, widespread unattractiveness tends to cluster in the poor IMO. Many are average looking still, certainly some can be cute... but the bulk of genetically unattractive people in the West are poor IMO.

Most upper-class and wealthy people may not be hot or gorgeous, but they certainly don't ever look like this. If they're unattractive it's usually because they're bald or fat or old or some combination. Outright hideous looking people aren't found in the 1%.

[–] brassbuffalo Chill Pill Man - my pills aren't helping anymore 1 point 2 points 3 points 5 days ago   (6 children) | Copy Link

Take an upper-class and wealthy person and get them addicted to meth and living on the street and they'll look like that in 3 years, tops. Barring severe genetic deformities, the ugliest people are the result of hardship born of crippling poverty.

People losing their looks on drugs isn't a rebuttal to the crux of anything I said.

Barring severe genetic deformities, the ugliest people are the result of hardship born of crippling poverty.

This isn't a coherent rebuttal to anything I said either.

  • I never said anything about "the ugliest people"

  • even your point about "the ugliest people" isn't actually contradicting what I said. My comment observed patterns of clusters about genetically unattractive people. Genetically unattractive people don't exist at the extreme wealth end. Genetically unattractive people are overrepresented at the extreme poor end. And your reply is... poverty causes ugliness?? How is that a rebuttal, isn't that roughly aligned with what I said?

If you're going to reply to me again, please demonstrate actual comprehension of my argument before responding.

[–] brassbuffalo Chill Pill Man - my pills aren't helping anymore 1 point 2 points 3 points 5 days ago   (4 children) | Copy Link

The guy in the picture you shared looks like any random crackhead. You call it "genetically unattractive" but it looks like the results of drug abuse, hard labor, bad diets, poor sleep, exposure, and general bodily abuse. Your example of "genetically unattractive" is what any human will look like after severe drug abuse and homelessness. The idea that rich people will never look like that has some truth, in that if they get to the point where they look like that they've lost all their money. Your ideas about genetical unattractiveness have no merit because you've demonstrated you don't even know what it looks like.

[–] fiftypoundpuppy Spayed Old Maid | Hoet Laureate ♀ 0 points 1 point 2 points 5 days ago   (3 children) | Copy Link

The guy in the picture is an example. He's had a rough life, sure, but even without that he would be an unattractive man.

Okay dude. If you don't think ugly people exist outside of drugs and hard lives and defects and deformities idk what to tell you except agree to disagree.

There are people who are born, do nothing special, and are beautiful by virtue of being born. The same applies to ugly people.

Your ideas about genetical unattractiveness have no merit because you've demonstrated you don't even know what it looks like.

Once again missing the forest for the trees because you insist on being hyper-fixated on my example. Did you also miss the words I used??

Bug or tiny eyes, terrible jawlines, awful ratios and symmetry.

??

You are using your dislike of my example as a way to avoid engaging with the full context of what I said. You are arguing just to argue.

And yet, it's the example you chose. You found a guy exhibiting symptoms of malnutrition and drug abuse and said it was all genetics. I expected to see a guy with bug eyes or tiny eyes, a terrible jawline, and bad symmetry. Instead I saw a crackhead with a fivehead. My issue is with the idea that a rich person wouldn't look like that, and I stand by my original claim that three years on the streets would have any rich person looking like that or worse.

Weird side note: I googled genetically ugly to see if I could find better examples and Ethan Hawke was in the image results. Google is throwing shade.

Yeah this is done, not reading any more

Have a good night!

If you have no rebuttal, you could just say so instead of this lame copout.

Males have always had multiple ways to get women, status, money, personality, women only have ONE way to get men and that has always been looks.

The reason males here focus so much on looks because it’s the easiest to have literally through genetics so they don’t have to work to get women, but if they wanted women there’s clearly other ways they just don’t want to bother to do them to get women.

And as you said women are willing to date down in looks but only if men have something other to offer if he doesn’t have looks.

Funnily enough struggling males have nothing to offer neither looks or money or status or personality.

Eh, I didn't say they are willing to date down only if they have something else to offer. I just said it is a way they can compensate. There's women out there who will date men with absolutely nothing going for them just to have a man, because they have daddy issues/low self-esteem, trauma, etc. I have a friend in one such relationship right now - all she cares about is how someone makes her feel. Dude is a complete loser but "he's silly and makes her laugh" so he's amazing 🙄 She could do so much better but her bar is on the floor. He actually got divorced because he was a manchild who didn't keep up with household labor or childcare and she's just like "well IDK how much can you expect from men really?"

I think men focus on getting women through looks because that's the only "valid, true" pathway to female sexual attraction for them. It's male solipsism. It's the only way they can feel sexually attracted to women so they only accept this being the way women are sexually attracted to them. This is the only way female attraction is "validating" and everything else is just compensation or a consolation prize. They don't want to be appealing for anything else other than "she looked at me and immediately wanted my dick inside her." They want to exist and be desired for existing, like they think women are.

Someone observed either here or in the daily how feminine these men are. It's very true. Everything they complain about and rant about and lash out about is "I want to play what I believe is the feminine role and I'm mad I'm not treated like a woman." They want to be catered to and taken care of and paid for and fucked on sight. They want to be viewed like princesses and their dicks like a prize. There's a good reason for the incel-to-trans pipeline.

Outright hideous looking people aren't found in the 1%

Technically, they are. Zuckerberg is a good example.

I think it may be accurate to say that people from certain regions are “different kinds” of attractive, with regions forming their own tier lists.

E.g. a “hawt tan guy” from New York City is a different thing than a ruggedly attractive Clint Eastwood

I’m more familiar with the Clint Eastwood type because I’m from the Midwest

I also agree wealthier areas have more attractive people, on average. It’s just that the rule has weird caveats. E.g. I’m guessing a city like Seattle, San Francisco, or New York might still be home to the least attractive people in the USA. A small, wealthy county in the Midwest would have a bunch of 6’0” guys that work a trade or something, who are somewhat attractive

Actually, if I had to point out a core type other than goth guys, femboys, or otherwise cute people, I’d point at Greek guys with black curly hair and tanned skin

I don't think Zuckerberg is hideous. I think he's unattractive and below-average, but he's not on the extreme end of unattractiveness. You have to keep a sense of perspective and scale here.

I think it may be accurate to say that people from certain regions are “different kinds” of attractive, with regions forming their own tier lists.

You can choose to view it that way if you want. The idea of an "LA 3" vs a "St. Louis 7" works for certain conversations. But for my comment it's not localized to whatever a local market would find appealing. Dimorphism, harmony, ratios, age, baldness, etc. are not specific to or influenced by regions. In America, there aren't neighborhoods of poverty with significant numbers of hot people. Looks cluster at the extremes regardless of region.

And even "the Midwest" is way too broad to make universal declarations of a singular "type." Chicago is in the Midwest. So is Dayton. So is St. Louis. So is Topeka.

I cut around 15cm of hair and still get used to it. Were shoulder long now mouth/chin.

All I am saying is remember how some people use "get a haircut" as advice for men to look better? I am that man, i just refuse to do it, i like longer hair even if they look worse.
