Based on what I’ve seen, as a rule of thumb most straight women generally won’t hookup with random guys. BUT if an above average looking guy gives a her attention in the club/bar, and especially in a few circumstances (the girl is drunk, just broke up with her bf, it’s her birthday etc) she’ll be more likely to have a one night stand. However the caveat here is the guy usually needs to be exceptionally attractive whether in terms of look or vibe, as a lot of women seem to view a ONS as something dirty/guilty.

Interestingly, when it comes to long term relationships, women seem less likely to be picky about physical standards and more willing to date an uglier guy provided that he satisfies her emotional needs in the relationship.

I feel like this is quite the opposite of how most guys operate. Guys would actually be more likely to hookup with a less attractive woman for casual sex, while having higher appearance standards for a girlfriend/long term relationship. I think part of this is because looks are seen as more as a ‘status’ symbol in a female partner (trophy wife) whereas the older a man gets, the less his looks affect his status and the more other areas (personality, career, independence) become more important.
