I need advice from reddit again.

There is this cute girl I keep on meeting, since we take the same classes, we often just smile, double wink or wave at each other. This has been going on for a while. I've talked to her two times. On Tuesday she suddenly came to me and asked for my name, so we exchanged names and she left. I met her Thursday on the train again, she was sleeping, so I didn't want to wake her and only noticed me as we were arriving at the station. She asked me jokingly " you again?" and I answered "yes"

Is there any evidence she likes me at all and if so do you think she wants to be friends or anything further?

I would be okay with both, since she is kind of cool and I like cool people.

After dinner, ALL of the men retreated to the living room to watch football or some such sport. The women all leapt up to clear their place settings & do all the cleanup together. As a clueless guest, I offered to help in the already tight space and the women told me to relax, so I went into the living room. ALL the men were totally silent for what seemed like an eternity, and my [ex]boyfriend asked to speak to me in the hall. He asked me what I thought I was doing, and made it abundantly clear in words that the expectation in their family was that the women were in the kitchen, and the men were… not. I was like, “ok well, that’s not how it works in MY family, kthxbye.” and I went home.

Every major holiday with every boyfriend I’ve ever had in the past 30 years has involved some special kind of drama, now that I think of it. The common denominator in every instance has been me. Apparently, as I’m discovering, I have a pattern of allowing men I’m in a relationship with to disrespect me, my feelings, my time. Something to work through with my therapist in 2024.

Everything changed after app dating and covid.

If you're not talking about dating experiences in the last 2 years, it's outdated information. Women are a lot less open to talking or meeting men irl and especially at bars and clubs. Outside of school, a vast majority of dates are set up through dating apps or IG. The majority of couples meet through the apps. Your app dating success more than likely reflects your real dating success.

I stayed up all night every Christmas Eve and spent all of Christmas cooking and serving my husband’s family. I told him I wanted a divorce on Christmas Eve after he said you wouldn’t need my help setting up the presents if you didn’t take so long making cookies with the kids. I was exhausted and had to set the stage for Christmas morning (can’t start until the kids are well asleep).

The look on his face when he realized I was serious. He would use shame to make me feel like I always owed him. Weaponizing the Christmas cookies was the last straw.

But that statistic doesn't really tell us anything about how dangerous men are. When women use that statistic, the only possible resolution would be to make it 50/50 between men and women. Right, like if there was only 10 rapes that ever happened in the history of humanity, and 9 of those were men, then 90% of rapes would still be by men even though it's such a small percent of the population. You can scale the number of rapists up or down, but it doesn't tell us anything about the people comitting rape.

I don't want to look up all the numbers again, but I calculated something like less than 0.45% of the male population commits violent crimes. That can tell us more about how dangerous men are. This was using how many men are in prison and how many men are in the USA and then finding the difference and what percent. And even that number is all crimes, so once you filtered for just violent crimes it would be even less, and then when you filter out for violent crimes against women it would be even less. The statistic I used is being generous, and it is still already very low.
