I think you’re seeing being a “boyfriend” as the antithesis of a fun, sexual guy that women want to be with. I used to be the same way, women would tell me I was a “long term guy” and I saw it as them essentially telling me I was like that “nice guy” in the movies who wears the woman down to date him, not an inherently fun or attractive person. Set the precedent up front. Some dudes say they just recently got out of something complicated and aren't ready for a super involved thing and need to date casually for a while, but if that's not the truth I prefer not making shit up and being real.

You can also just say you don't believe in monogamy. I mean frankly monogamy is kinda whack any way you look at it. Half of all married couples end up divorced. But the real reason behind that is because if you knocked her up in prehistoric times and abandoned her on the Savannah of Africa hyenas or vultures some shit would come and both she and the baby would be done for. That kind of fear is definitely hard-wired into the female brain from hundreds of thousands of years of evolution.

Frankly I do believe monogamy is what makes society stable on a mass scale and if everyone was polyamorous it wouldn't work. But... if it's not for you it's not for you. I'm not currently monogamous but I'm open to that changing if the right girl comes along. But I'm not settling.

So personally I don't *only* want girls for sex. I like to talk to them and go out to eat with them and do fun stuff with them too. I like to listen to their perspectives. If a girl gets heavy feelings for me I don't think there's anything wrong with that. I have feelings for the girls I date too. But if I can't be committed to just one girl, I have to draw that boundary and let her know ahead of time so she doesn't risk her feelings too much if she's expecting something that I can't deliver. I want to be cognizant of that.

Girls get feelings for me all the time, but the fallacy is that feelings = monogamy, which isn't necessarily true. The point is, I've dealt with this time and time again. You just have to draw the boundary that, yeah I have feelings for you too, I think you're awesome, and I want to keep spending time with you. But it's not in my nature to be in an exclusive relationship. I've tried them before and they don't work for me. Maybe I've got more stuff to figure out about myself. But as it stands right now, I can't be monogamous with anyone. If that's a deal breaker for you, I totally understand. I don't want to waste your time. But I would like to keep hanging out with you if you're down.

Some girls will respect that, they're actually glad when you clear the air and lay all your cards on the table like that. A lot of them just don't want to feel like you're using them for sex. I've drawn boundaries with girls and they started crying before even though I said when I first met them I wasn't monogamous so they already knew, lol. Some will get angry. But as a high-value man, you deal with it and draw your boundaries and stay true to yourself.

From my experience what ends up happening, is a lot of the ones who cry or get angry eventually accept that you're on your own journey trying to figure shit out for yourself. And if those terms aren't a deal-breaker for them, they'll eventually come around and be okay with it.

Theres a mixture of things at play here. The type of women youre going for definitely is a factor. It’s exactly because ur doing that. They are interested. N will pursue usqually will pursue u. The one with the power cuz there alwys one person chasing the other even in a relationship. The power is to the person who cares less cuz they have control for the simple ability they genuinely don’t care. But generally as human beings we want what we can’t have. Don’t get me wrong that alone won’t carry u in this regard but it’s a extremely huge contributing factor to why they do. In my personal experience.

You need to be very clear from the beginning and say you’re not interested in being a boyfriend/dating. They may not be aware of this and you talking to them and making plans with them may give them false hope.

Hopefully this helps you guys understand why girls develop feelings for a guy who is there…but not really. Everything you described is making you seem “hard to get”. Many a female has played this game and it backfires because men don’t care about this kind of stuff. But…to a woman, she sees it as either a challenge to rope you in, or as something that she is lacking. The more aloof you are, the more attractive you become in a sense because of the challenge/insecurity on her part. Not all women are this way, many will call you out on this bullshit, unfortunately there are many (especially young) women who will fall for this every time. I realize it isn’t ultimately your responsibility to nurture their feelings and it sounds like you are upfront with them; but do be mindful that this is someone’s feelings and what consequence they may be bringing on themselves by thinking they have a chance at something more.

Speaking from experience, it's probably not that you have boyfriend vibes. It's that you didn't set clear enough boundaries and expectations upfront, and from a scientific perspective have been physically intimate enough times (doesn't always take very much) for feelings to develop from physiological attachment, which is a hard-wired biological mechanism for humans (yes, even for you).

It's likely all about what you're choosing *not* to say. If there isn't clarity, it gives people false hopes so they can't do the necessary mind over matter stuff to compartmentalize those emotions, and even then it's probably more healthy to acknowledge those feelings like an adult and break up with them if it's going to be a problem, as opposed to ignoring/suppressing it and perhaps even realizing you developed unresolved feelings years later. When people willfully avoid that conversation, I can only assume they secretly like being vague to string people along and complain about it for attention.
